A CM comes home! Disneymoon at POFQ 12/20-31

I'm in too!

Congrats & I can't wait to read all about your disneymoon. My DH & I went on ours at Disney as well and stayed at POFQ.

One to thing I forgot to mention: If you want to do the DDP, make sure you book it before you arrive. We had made our reservations and purchased our tickets through a friend who is a Cast Member. We had debated the dining plan and were on the fence about it. I had never used it because I had alwasy visisted as a cast member and therefore was able to get a discount on food. We decided to add it, only to find out that we would have had to do that before we arrived. Oh well, live and learn.

On to day two. Day two was our first Magic Kingdom day. We had decided to get there as close to rope drop as possible. From my experience there, the rides don't get super busy until a couple of hours into the day.

I had been trying for about a month to book Keys to the Kingdom but nothing was available. I want to move back down there one day. Aaron has agreed that we will. He loves all things theme parks and can tell you as much useless knowledge about rides as you could possibly want. He can tell you the most likely manufacturer of a coaster just by looking at it or riding it. I knew he would love Keys to the Kingdom, and I thought it would be nice if he could see a lot of the places I have talked about (the Utilidor, the Production Center, etc.) The night before I had gone to the concierge desk to try again. The cast member there said it was odd that nothing was available and thought maybe it was because the park opened early. She told me it opened at 7 am.

I had forgotten about the parks opening early, I'm so used to a 9am opening on most days I had just assumed that. :rotfl: So, without bothering to check the times guide, we set out for a 7 am open. I'm sure some of you can see where this is going...

We arrived only to realize that we were an hour early! We had not had breakfast yet, so we decided to hop on the resort monorail and go get breakfast at one of the resorts. Aaron is very much into sci-fi and really gets a kick out of the 50's-esque view of the future. To that end, he has always wanted to go to the contemporary, so we decided to get breakfast there. We thought about checking out Chef Mickey's to see if it was even possible (you never know), but the line was horrible! So we at at the Contempo instead. I had this caramel/banana french toast that was awesome.

It was cool because we could see Chef Mickey's from where we were. I have many good memories of that restaurant, including the time that Mickey lost his shoe during a celebration. So even if we couldn't go there, it was nice to be able to see it.

I'm looking forward to seeing what y'all did at Magic Kingdom. That wasn't us at POFQ. We were on the third floor, 7318 I think.

I love hanging out in the Contemporary- -definitely a good spot for a quick breakfast. Although, if we were an hour early, we probably would have just waited at the MK!! :rotfl:

Joining in for the fun. Love your wedding pic -- love both your dress and hubby's tux/vest color. Very cool! Congratulations to you both!

Jessi, I am loving your trip report! I think you were just a couple of doors up from where were at POFQ a few years ago, I need to look back, maybe we were in the same room! With two kids with us, our stay was hardly a honeymoon though!

Now I am wondering about the internet security thing. When we were there in October, we had some fraud on our debit card. Dan remembers paying a bill online using our debit card, I can't help but wonder if that was how it happened. It was a nightmare, somebody charged $1500 worth of plane tickets and since it was a debit card, it came right out of our checking account. I won't be doing that again.

Can't wait to read more. Oh yeah, Share a Dream Come True was my favorite parade. I really miss it.:sad1:
