Has anyone else read it? I got it today and I'm done with it already. What a moving story. I can't imagine treating a child, or anyone like that. I guess I'm going to have to read the next book to find out what happened after he got taken away.

yes i read it... that was one of the most disturbing books i think i have ever read...... that poor child.... kinda makes you think how much therapy this poor guy has gone through.... i think there is another book that goes with this one... i'll do some research and let you know if i find it...

I have read all 3 of his books. I know there is a new one too called Help Yourself that sounds good too. I would recommend reading the second book wvjules.

He for sure had a very rough life!!

thanks wvjules... wasn't real sure how many there were.....

My sister has that book as well as the sequels. I've never read them myself but she likes them a lot.

I read all 3. I dont think I have ever cried so much. I cant understand how she could be so mean and abusive to the little boy.

I've read them, they're excellent books, very moving and sad. I hope to go into child psychology someday so I find books like Dave Pelzer (Peltzer? I can't remember)'s very interesting. I read a really wonderful book the other day called Another Place at the Table, by Kathy Harrison - it was a memoir by a foster mother, I'd highly recommend it.

I have read all 3 of the books. My son had to read A Boy Called It for a HS reading requirement. He told me it was disturbing so I read it and then had to get the other 2 to see how this man's life turned out. It is amazing that anyone could withstand that amount of torture and cruelty and live to talk about it. Such a sad story and it was very disturbing to read.

Yes, I've read it. I would like to find and read the other two now.

My 12 y/o daughter read all of these books and LOVED them. She was very disturbed by the abuse of this poor child. It really opened her eyes to the "world" and how bad things truly do happen to children.

I was just grateful that she would READ--it's beyond me how I have a child who has a hard time finding something to read that interests her. The rest of us (15 y/o boy and parents) read constantly--she's just more into her music (and being a tweeny bopper) at present. I'm not giving up though! I can't believe she's a 4.0 student and doesn't READ!!!! Guess there are exceptions to every rule. ;)

I personally have a very tough time reading this type of material--it just gets me so riled up!
