Me also. I hate driving long distances in cars. Fly me somewhere and I'll stay there for a week.

Hi, friendly folks out there I decided to stop lurking and join in.

My husband and I went to New Hampshire. What a beautiful state! We just missed the Old man in the mountain before he croaked that same weekend.

However, we saw two moose(s)? on the side of the road but were unable to stop because of the tractor trailer barreling down the road behind us.

I've converted my husband to actually stop and enjoy things along our travels . I read descriptive signs aloud and research ahead before we travel, just like a tour guide

The amount of ground you have to cover in such a short time would be the killer for me. I don't mind road trips but I need time to stop and enjoy some of the 'local charm' and have time to get the road dust off and the flat spot out of my butt.

Why not agree to a trip that includes fewer miles and longer stops at each place? They've chosen several vacation trips worth of places to see in two short weeks. I'd be too exhausted to enjoy much of it.

I would revolt...nothing big just something along the lines of french revolution...i hate road trips that meander and meander and meander....i would probably shot myself...i would tell my S.O. have fun and send me a post card

Is that even possible in 2 weeks? I felt rushed with 3 cities in two weeks (and that was traveling <3 hrs between each city by plane and train, NOT by car - ew!). I'm about to do 4 cities in 10 days, by way of plane and car. I'm already stressed about the amt of travel involved; my friend talked me into the 2 extra cities and the driving portion. I like to get to know the places I visit, not just drive through "just to say I was there."

What a waste of an AP -- revolt and go on your own trip!

That's just too much! You're going to some great places but you won't have a chance to see anything. I could spend a week in Arkansas alone and a full month in California.

Let's see....just the round trip-NO SIDE JAUNTS- is 5500 miles. If your vehicle gets 15 mpg you'll need 370 or so gallons of gas....that's at least $850.00 JUST FOR GASOLINE!

I love to drive, I absolutely love it. I've driven to California from CT with no other drivers, as well as numerous trips to FL.

HOWEVER...that kind of itinerary would send even me over the deep end I'd at least like to have a destination to enjoy for a bit. All that driving seems a waste if there's no time allowed to stop and enjoy anything along the way. And Disneyland?? Sounds to me like you'll be way too exhausted to even enjoy it, I think you'll be rushed with trying to 'fit it in'. You'll all need a vacation from that vacation by the time you return, LOL!
If it were me, I'd cut that road time in half, make Disneyland Resort the destination (allowing a couple days there to enjoy) and have time to linger at other sites along the way and back to make it more enjoyable.

J.C. and I told them we would just fly to Vegas and MEET THEM THERE!!!!!!!

I've done the drive from Greenville to Las Vegas before and like Peachgirl mentioned, OH MY GOD HOW BORING!!!! BORING BORING BORING!! It was awful!!!!

Our main goal is Oregon and Washington State so why we can't just FLY there and rent a car is BEYOND ME! My mother and DH love this kind of stuff though. I mean how much of a feel can you really get for a place if your not there long enough to enjoy it????

I have talked to them about taking 3 weeks to do this instead of two. I've even mentioned the possibility of renting an RV if they are intent on doing all this driving. John and my mother have both been at their jobs long enough to have major vacation time so lets take 3 weeks please if we HAVE to do this.

We don't HAVE to go to WDW again but choose ONE PLACE! If we have to drive lets do Vegas and Disneyland, thats easily done in 2 weeks with time to ENJOY IT!

Awww, do you miss me that much?

I wouldn't do it. DH and I are looking for ways to Washington in June, and we have to drive (obviously, since it's a move). From OK to Washington, we're looking at anywhere from 28 hours (up to North Dakota and across) or 36 hours (across to Vegas and up California). And I can already tell you, Columbus to OK was 12 hours and I wanted to kill myself by the end. This state is very, very boring to drive through. (No offense, Oklahomans!)

wow...that is a lot of driving. My family loves road trips and that would be way too much for 2 weeks. You would really not have time to anything.

I would cut something out and spend at least a couple days in AZ...if you are driving to the Grand Canyon you should definately stop at Canyon De Chelles...I have heard its really beautiful.

I would cut the Northwest out of your trip...another 2 days from AZ to Oregon.

MS -> Grand Canyon - 1419 miles, 21 hours
GC -> Vegas - 275 miles, 4 hours
Vegas -> Disneyland - 262 miles, 4 hours
Disneyland -> Seattle (not sure where in Washington you wanted to go!) - 1153 miles, 17 hours
Seattle -> MS - 2390 miles, 36 hours

And that's pure driving time.

I'm exhusted and I'm not even going on the trip!!
