I am about to book for the week of Oct.4 (I am sooo excited)! so please bear with me as I ask a trillion questions...

Is the Disney View room worth the extra $$$? Can you see the fireworks from it? It will cost me about $15 extra per night.

It comes with the Premium/pillowtop bed and Microwave.

The other room is the poolview and it says it is "delux" but doesn't describe the bed?

Also we are, my sister and myself, 2 teens and an 11 year old (we are all Canadian Disney Fanatics). Is there a fold out sofa? Or do we need a cot and is it extra???

Thank-you, everyone for all your great advise and reviews.... I love this place.
It also helped me to choose where to stay..
Last time we stayed at the Marriot and we loved the room quality and great breakfast but the ART was a pain (we once had to wait an hour because something broke down) and $4 X 5 is an extra $20 per day...!!

We like the Disney view rooms, yes you can see the fireworks and the beds are great. The Deluxe rooms are nice as well, most of them have the upgraded beds. I'm not sure about how many will fit, we are a family of 4 so we get a room with 2 beds. :)

I just booked our second stay at HOJO in Building 2 which is $69 per night over looking the garden pool. We weren't able to see the fireworks from our room but if you went outside our door into the hallway we could see the fireworks every night. We havent been since all the upgrades so I am not sure what all they have done or changed since December 2007.

We just booked for our visit in May. We also got the $69 Pool view room. I don't think there are fireworks during and I'm much rather be able to watch DH and the kids at the pool during our midday break.

How did you get $69 a night?

How many of you share a room?

So not all have the upgraded beds? Do you have to request them? I guess then if there aren't any available I should go for the Disneyview right???

Does the pool have "hours" , so that the pool noise stops at some point, or is it very late?

Do the pool rooms have a veranda where you can sit and enjoy watching the family?

Does the Disneyview room have a veranda?

I'm not sure if they all have the upgraded beds yet, I do know that they are changing them but not sure if they are done. You should request that when you make your ressies, they will note the request but of course, cannot guarantee it. If a comfy bed is very important to you then yes, go with the view room instead.

Pool does have hours, as do the pirate play area and spa.
The pool rooms, some have small balconies some have larger balconies, some are just big enough to stand on but others you could maybe put a chair out there. I'm not sure, when my kids go to the pool we go with them. :) Disney view rooms have a small balcony as well.

To see if the HoJo has the Ent Rate available for your dates go to HoJoAnaheim.com and click on the discussion board link, scroll down to discount and enter that room, you see a thread titled Entertainment Rate, click there and see what dates are available. These rates are $59/69/79, $59 is a pavilion or freeway side room (pavilion rooms are nice but I don't recommend the freeway side) with 2 doubles, the $69 are pool view deluxe rooms and the $79 are the Disney view rooms. You do need an Ent Card upon check for these and you book these rates ONLY by calling IN HOUSE reservations. You can get the Ent book for your area and use that card or you can go on eBay and find a card for about $5. HTH

We stayed there in October in one of the park view rooms in building one, the ones that are $79 a night. We requested top floor (no running feet over our heads that way!) and we got a great room, 1713, with very little blockage from the trees in front, straight out to the Matterhorn. If you'd like to see it, check my trip report, linked in my siggy below, page 5.

We also had the Disney view rooms last trip and love them. I personally wouldn't want the rooms near the highway because of the noise. The pool rooms would be worth the extra $$ in my opinion. Sleep well. :)

Who do we contact about requesting certain rooms? I think we want to be top floor this time (we were maybe 4th or 5th floor last time). I hate to call and wait for in-house reservations, as it was a LONG wait last time I called. I vaguely remember a Hojo employee with an email who could help with requests. Anyone have that info to share?

We are going in early in October for the rates to apply..... shucks...

Hopefully these questions haven't already been addressed. We will be in Disneyland from May 3-9 for our first trip.

We booked a room in building 1 on the top floor with a Disneyland view. Does anyone know the highway noise level in these rooms? Are the views nice? How much light comes in from the skylights? Is there a certain room/area in building 1 that is better than others pertaining to the view? (trees/buildings getting in the way)

Thanks.

Even though we stayed in Building 2 over looking the garden pool area and close to the freeway, we never heard the noise and we are used to peaceful nights with living in the country and not hearing traffic. We have no complaints about the noise at all.

Keep checking back if the rates don't apply to your dates. They add more dates as it gets closer, depending on how full they are.

:ssst: I got a pool view room for $59. Not saying it will happen for everyone, but if you're booking for a ways out, don't count out pool views from the $59 rate!

The ent. rate for the pool view rooms (bldg. 2) is $69 as they are "deluxe" rooms. They don't go any lower than that. The standard rooms are $59, but they are not with a pool view. You may want to verify what room you have and at what price.

I think it might be possible that the "pool view" for $59 is from the pavillion building overlooking the Pirate's area. When we stayed in that building (building 4 I believe), we were asked if we wanted a room facing the courtyard or facing the Pirate's area.

I understand what you're saying, but when Hojo refers to "pool view" rooms on their site and people use that term, it is referring to the rooms in bldg. 2 overlooking the pool. The pirates area is a water play area and is not usually referred to as the pool area. I just wanted to clarify what the room terms and prices were to help with any confusion over this. If someone expected to get one thing and got another, there might be some disappointment.
