last night when me and my dh were walking out the door , a bird flew into my house! i was running around screaming GET IT OUT GET IT OUT! it was so funny my kids ran into their bedrooms like it was a monster. :rotfl2: then i started getting worried it was going to start knocking things over, so dh goes to get a broom to chase it out and ...................BOOM it hits my ceiling fan. all you here is THUNK! i think it only knocked him out so dh gets a bath towel and picks it up and takes it back outside,it flew away so it wasnt dead. I just thought how funny we all reacted over this tiny little bird. :rotfl2:

I would imagine the bird was more scared than you were. If it ever happens again you can make things easier by pulling the drapes closed and turning off the lights. Then open the door. Birds and other flying bugs are typically attracted to light so they'll fly to the light and freedom.

Our family has had so many wild animals come in our house and cars. My mom usually leaves their back door open so the cat can go in and out on warmer days. One day my mom found a possum in the living room when she came downstairs. On my way home from work one summer night I had all of my car windows down and a bat flew into the car. I pulled over and jumped out screaming. I'd pulled over in front of a house where the kindest man was out on his front porch. He got the bat out for me. :)

What a great suggestion, thanks for the tip. We have 3 pet birds, so one being in the house wouldn't have bothered us so much. My ds and I did react that way over some sort of weird bug that was in my house. I grew up in a nice little sub-division, not in the country. Now I live on 37 acres and you wouldn't believe some of the bugs :crazy2: , it seems like every summer we make a new "discovery".

I'm sorry, but the bat story made me :lmao: , although I would have been terrified had it happened to me, I probably would have wrecked the car!!

We once had a chipmunk get in our house by crawling through the dryer vent. I suppose that is not nearly as bad as the family we know who had the deer break through their windows!

Well one day I was working downstairs in the basement and had the windows wide open. The next day DW goes in the basement to get something and comes running back upsatirs and asks me if I would mind going downstairs and closing the windows and oh, yeah while I'm down there to please get rid of the baby skunk. That was fun. Thank god I was able to coax the little guy out with some cat food. Even better was our two cats had been down in the basement all day. They must have been playing together. It's so nice to live in Maine.

Okay, you just described my worst nightmare. I have a real fear of flying things, especially bats and small birds. They just freak me out. :scared:

that might work, but I DONT HAVE DRAPES and it was dark outside. we only have wood blinds on the front windows and in the back a french door with a big glass window above it. I'm sure the bird was scared to death, and whats really funny is we have 2 cats and they both ran under the dining room table. :rotfl2:
