A Beachy, Boozy Birthday in Disney 9/4/2021 NEW TR Link/COMPLETE!!!

Citrico’s looks amazing! Did you just request to sit in Rony’s section on arrival at the restaurant? I’ve seen a few people mention that CG’s service wasn’t quite up to scratch lately. Not sure if that’s just because they aren’t staffed as well post pandemic but hopefully they get back on track soon.
Haven’t watched your vlog yet but I am so with you on the sentiment that Disney is getting ridiculous regarding charges. We love staying there because of that so inclusive feel and because it makes life so easy transport wise. Now there’s no magical express, no fp, spotty housekeeping, no complimentary magicbands. We definitely want to go back and really hope to do so but I don’t think it will be an annual thing for us anymore which makes me sad. The room rates are exorbitant and because it’s long haul trip to get there we always stay a minimum of 14 nights. Well let me tell ya there’sa lots of 4/5 star hotels nearby at a lot less money so I can see us starting a few nights at WDW and then moving to an off due option or visiting other destinations entirely. I’m guessing though there will always be someone willing to pay so Disney won’t mind a bit.

Joe and I will still go but it won't be our exclusive vacation destination anymore. There's nothing left for Disney to give back unless we have to pay for it...

Well I'm not going to comment on Genie yet lol but I will say how great it was to be back at Citricos! The food was just as wonderful as ever and it's always a concern when they redo a restaurant  And of course I told you I cried when Melinda sent me the picture of her and Rony! I love that it's themed now but subtly.

I see that Rony is back. :)
YES! Melinda was the first friend of mine to go and I texted her about 20x to be sure and look for him lol. They asked for him and got seated in his section, sent me a picture, and like I said above I cried when I saw it :goodvibes

Disney really knocked it out of the ball park with this one. I love everything about it!!!

The lavender dessert @ Citricos looks amazingly good. We have Earl Grey/Lavender Frosting covered scones at our local coffee shop that are great.

Now, about Genie Plus, I'm really starting to regret joining DVC. I mainly did it to leave to my Disney loving DD and DSIL. I also have 3 DGK's that love Disney, and I'm thinking that they may not be able to afford to go to the parks in future years. It's amazing now every time we go how crowded the parks are considering the cost of a WDW vacation, especially for a family. Where do they all get the money to go? There are so many other great places to go throughout the world that can be cheaper on their budgets.

Thank you for the latest update on this!

It's just all so frustrating. Hopefully Disney will come to their senses and scratch this...I really hope it's a flop.

Today we did something brand new to us at Disney. But before I get to that, we started with breakfast at Trattoria. Joe had the French toast and I had the fruit and yogurt plate. Both were just ok. I'd definitely go back, but feel GFC, Olivia's, and Ale and Compass have better breakfast fare.

So, what did we do after breakfast? We went horseback riding at Fort Wilderness and had the best time. It's $55 for an hour trail ride and you pay in advance. We weren't able to take a lot of pics because you can't take cameras on the horses. But, we did do some vlogging beforehand and afterward.

After the ride, we took an internal bus to Tri Circle D ranch to check out the horses and grab a drink. This was also a great experience and I highly recommend taking time out during your Disney vaca to visit. We saw Grady, a horse that pulls the Princess cavalcades in Epcot, met a Cinderella miniature pony, and saw one of the Headless Horseman's horses from MNSSHP.

Next up, we mobile order from the Poly and have dinner at Sebastian's at the CBR...

HORSEBACK RIDING @ TRI-CIRCLE-D RANCH / Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort!

THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN'S HORSE @ TRI-CIRCLE-D RANCH STABLES / Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

So, what did we do after breakfast? We went horseback riding at Fort Wilderness and had the best time.

Aww that's awesome! So glad you had fun! :) I did this on one of my solo days and really enjoyed it! I used to ride and take lessons as a kid, but I hadn't been riding very much as an adult so it was a great opportunity. Your shirt was perfect for the horseback riding theme! :goodvibes The grounds at Fort Wilderness are so nice :) I was chuckling a bit at you guys gagging at the horse smell! lol I hear you, horses definitely smell. My aunt and uncle keep horses so I grew up around it and I don't mind it, but it's a very distinct smell for sure! I'm sure Joe is right that they know the horses really well and minimize any potential risk as much as possible. I mean nothing is guaranteed with animals, but I think they're probably suuuuper careful since it's Disney. Omg... "Remember those dolphins?" :rotfl: It was neat to hear the guy talking about the Cinderella ponies. I hadn't thought about how they'd have to make sure that the ponies for her carriage were completely white! All the poor sibling ponies with less-than-perfect colouring who probably aspired to be a Cinderella pony but ended up being stuck as second-best doing pony rides!

We ate here on our trip and really enjoyed it. Though we ordered some of the more Italian things so maybe that makes a difference. But definitely up there with Ale and Compass in my book

How fun!!! I don't think I realized you could do this. I haven't ridden a horse since I was a kid so not sure how I'd feel about actually doing it, but the idea of it sounds great

After the ride, we took an internal bus to Tri Circle D ranch to check out the horses and grab a drink. This was also a great experience and I highly recommend taking time out during your Disney vaca to visit.
If we can get to WL next month this is on my list of things to do. Definitely off the beaten path and we don't plan on park days so thought it would be perfect

What a fun activity! I love how you are trying so many things outside the parks!

Such a fun afternoon! Putting that on the list for March! :)

This was so fun Meghan! It was just nice to try something new.

This was wonderful Kari and I highly recommend it.

I think we are just getting a bit bored of the parks. There's just soooooo much to do in Disney beyond the parks and this was something we have wanted to do for a long time!!!

Your merch is great! Your Trader Sam's mug is awesome! :lovestruc:lovestruc Getting in to Trader Sam's is a big deal when it's busy like that!

The limited edition Headless Horseman pin is awesome! I'm pretty into pin collecting (as you may remember from my TRs,) so I'd love a video on your daughter's pin collection! Should you start collecting pins?...weeellllllll....I will say it has the potential to become a bit addicting which can make it a very expensive hobby! 😆 I love pins, but I don't know whether I'd recommend it or not! But if you feel like you'd be able to keep it reasonable and just buy a few special pins here and there from your trips/events/resorts/etc that would be meaningful to you, then it can be a great collection that doesn't take a lot of suitcase space and can look neat to display in different ways. Or something that works for some people is just to choose a specific character or attraction or theme of some kind and mostly only collect that. I mainly collect Merida pins these days, but I have a few side collections like Bo Peep, Sulley, resort pins...attractions...events we've been to...yeah...it can get out of hand easily

I have a feeling I would abuse this hobby, lol, and buy more than I needed. 😁 😁 😁

Hi everyone! So, I already told you all about our mobile order experience at the Poly back in July. For any of you who may have missed that, I'll include the vlog we did on it at the end of this...Now on to dinner at Sebastian's...

I was really excited to eat here. I had it booked twice before all this Covid nonsense and had cancelled so when Disney announced it was reopening, I knew we had to try it. Plus, I had been reading very positive reviews. Unfortunately, we weren't fans. It was just ok. Joe and I really liked the bread and the salad. Everything else was just bland, lacking flavor, and just not very good.

For those of you who don't know, it's a pre-fixed menu served family-style. The coconut shrimp is an add-on for $8.99. We did really like this too and it was totally worth adding on.

After dinner, we met my sister, her husband, Todd and Gia for drinks back at Ale and Compass (they were in Disney the same time we were). Then, we went back up to our room to watch Epcot Forever.

Next up, Joe and I pack up. It was time to leave the beautiful BCV and head home. The flight was delayed. People weren't wearing masks and we swore we would never fly again...HA! You knew that was a lie!!!

Thank you to everyone who showed up for this TR. I really appreciate all your comments, love, and support. Without you, I wouldn't get to relive all these awesome Disney trips. 😘

Stay tuned for our August TR. COMING SOON!!!
