A Beachy, Boozy Birthday in Disney 9/4/2021 NEW TR Link/COMPLETE!!!

Breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe never disappoints and this time was no exception. We met our friends, Staci and Paul and were seated right away. I started with an iced cappuccino and Joe had a cup of coffee. For our entrees, Joe had the Traditional Eggs Benedict, two poached eggs, toasted English muffin, Canadian bacon, Hollandaise, and marinated tomato salad. I had The Grand Breakfast, two eggs served with bacon, sausage, and cheesy hash brown casserole. Both of us enjoyed our meals immensely. Everything was cooked perfectly and our server was wonderful.

Next up, we check into a new to us resort, the Beach Club Villas! We also meet up with some old friends from the DIS!!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in to give another update before we go back to Disney World tomorrow. All packed for our quick 2-night stay and looking forward to seeing our friends. :cool1:

Back to the TR...Tonight, we found ourselves at the Ale and Compass Lounge. Joe and I shared an order of the Parker House Rolls and Spreads, bacon jam, pub cheese, and citrus butter. These were delicious!!! The rolls were nice and warm and the spreads were all very creamy. We both agreed that the Pub Cheese was the best. We also had a few drinks. I started with the Seaworthy Breeze, Absolut vodka with grapefruit and cranberry. But I substituted the Absolut for Titos. Joe had a Maple Old Fashioned, Jim Beam Black extra-aged bourbon, maple syrup, orange juice, and Angostura Bitters. These were a good way to start what would be a long night of drinking, lol. But wait! We were also meeting a few friends, @chunkymonkey and her other half, Steve. When they arrived, we shared another round of drinks. I stuck with another Seaworthy Breeze and Joe had The Big Apple Buffalo, Trace bourbon, crisp apple puree, and Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth. He liked this a lot. We had a really nice visit with our friends and then got to meet up with another friend of ours for a quick hello. Hi C!!!!!

After we parted ways, Joe and I jumped aboard the Skyliner and flew over to the Riviera Resort. We had decided to make a stop at Bar Riva. This is such a great bar and we love how it's open-aired. We were also starving and opted for more food. I had the Greek Salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, Feta, crispy greens, vinaigrette with shrimp. I order this every time we are here and it's always so filling. Joe had the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry, fruit preserves, and grilled sourdough. We enjoyed these a lot. We also had a few drinks. I had a glass of the white sangria and Joe had the Sunshine Margarita, Lunazul Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, Sweet-and-Sour, Orange, Lime. We may have had more than one... :rolleyes1

We hopped back on the Skyliner after our stop at Bar Riva and decided we were in need of a night swim to help sober up. We were also dying to try the huge water slide at the BC. It was soooooo fun and the water was nice and warm. This was a great idea!

We ended our night with a few Mickey bars.

I'm glad that you had time to enjoy Storm Along bay with your busy schedule.

It looks like you had the typical woods view at the BC/BCV. There are a lot of trees between the resort and Epcot.

Yes it did, as soon as I went down the slide and landed full force under water, lol.

It was such an amazing view and being able to watch Epcot Forever from our balcony was the perfect way to end the day.

Ale and Compass has become a favorite breakfast spot. We have had breakfast here three times now in the last 5 months and have had excellent service and very good food each time. I started with an iced coffee and Joe had a pot of tea. For our entrees, we both had the American Breakfast, served with breakfast potatoes or fresh fruit and choice of two eggs any-style, choice of sausage or bacon. We both chose the fruit. I had my eggs over easy and Joe had his scrambled. We both had bacon. As a special surprise, our server brought me a chocolate Mickey-shaped brownie/mouse to celebrate it being my birthday. It was absolutely amazing!!!

Next up, we enjoy more time at Stormalong Bay and have drinks at Hurricane Hannah's...

Another report? Really? Isn't one at a time enough

So sorry you all had such a bad experience at The Swan. We stayed there in June and really liked it but of course we had air conditioning and a non-smoking room.

We have to get back to Ale and Compass. I kept wanting to go on our trip but for some reason we never made it over there. Those rolls have my name all over them.

Everyone I know who stays there likes it. We just had really bad luck, not once, not twice but 3 times.

Seriously Kari, you all would like it a lot. It ranks in our top 3 breakfast spots.

Can I just start by saying I love BC and Stormalong Bay!!! Why did it take us sooooo long to stay here?!?! This is the best pool on property and I absolutely love how the CM's scan your MB's and give you a wristband before entering!!! Too many people try to scam the system and swim at resort pools where they are not staying. I personally think this is so wrong and I wish all resort pools would have a similar system in place. Guests pay a lot of money to stay at Disney resorts and this simply shouldn't happen if you aren't paying to stay at one of them. Sorry, rant over.

Anyway, Joe and I lounged by the pool and swam for a couple of hours, and enjoyed drinks at Hurricane Hannah's. I had the PinaColava and Joe had a Category 5. Both were refreshing and went down waaay too easy, lol.

After our time at the pool, Joe and I felt we were in need of a snack. So, we showered, got dressed, and walked over to the BW. We had ice cream at the new ice cream parlor (we miss Ample Hills so much) and had a margarita and jalapeno stuffed pretzel at Boardwalk Joe's. You all, this was so good. The pretzel was nice and warm and the cheese was all melty with just a hint of spice from the pepper.

When we got back to the room, I had the most wonderful birthday surprise waiting for me!!!! @CruellaNY and her wonderful husband, Steve sent me the most beautiful flower arrangement for my birthday. It came in the cutest Minnie mug and it meant the world to me. They are the most wonderful friends and Joe and I are very blessed to have them in our lives. We just saw them last week but miss them already and look forward to spending time with them over the 50th.

Next up, we hit the Enchanted Rose and the newly reopened and refurbished Citricos for my birthday dinner...
