A Beachy, Boozy Birthday in Disney 9/4/2021 NEW TR Link/COMPLETE!!!

those flowers were adorable!!!!
They smelled so good too.
I was very surprised!!!!!
Well if we only kind of liked you I would have asked for the "smell like crap" flowers" but since we love you I figured you deserved the ones that smell nice :rotfl2:

That's a really cute birthday dessert you got! As far as Stormalong Bay I'm probably the only person that does not like that pool lol. Too big and the one time I attempted the lazy river it almost killed me :upsidedow

Can I just start by saying I love BC and Stormalong Bay!!! Why did it take us sooooo long to stay here?!?! This is the best pool on property and I absolutely love how the CM's scan your MB's and give you a wristband before entering!!! Too many people try to scam the system and swim at resort pools where they are not staying. I personally think this is so wrong and I wish all resort pools would have a similar system in place. Guests pay a lot of money to stay at Disney resorts and this simply shouldn't happen if you aren't paying to stay at one of them. Sorry, rant over.

Anyway, Joe and I lounged by the pool and swam for a couple of hours, and enjoyed drinks at Hurricane Hannah's. I had the PinaColava and Joe had a Category 5. Both were refreshing and went down waaay too easy, lol.

After our time at the pool, Joe and I felt we were in need of a snack. So, we showered, got dressed, and walked over to the BW. We had ice cream at the new ice cream parlor (we miss Ample Hills so much) and had a margarita and jalapeno stuffed pretzel at Boardwalk Joe's. You all, this was so good. The pretzel was nice and warm and the cheese was all melty with just a hint of spice from the pepper.

When we got back to the room, I had the most wonderful birthday surprise waiting for me!!!! @CruellaNY and her wonderful husband, Steve sent me the most beautiful flower arrangement for my birthday. It came in the cutest Minnie mug and it meant the world to me. They are the most wonderful friends and Joe and I are very blessed to have them in our lives. We just saw them last week but miss them already and look forward to spending time with them over the 50th.

Next up, we hit the Enchanted Rose and the newly reopened and refurbished Citricos for my birthday dinner...

I agree...we so love the Beach Club Pool (and @CruellaNY is crazy for NOT loving it btw) and I do my best to try to stay there when we can do so. It is a tough one to get with our DVC points because it is so popular and not our home resort. I think the Poly would be my second favorite though, also because their pool atmosphere is lovely and I just love the grounds there. Still can't beat BW and BC/YC for proximity to EPCOT.

Lovely flowers too...how sweet!

The BC has been a favorite resort for us for ages. We love the location. :)

That was very thoughtful and the mug is adorable. :)

We'll be at the WL from Sept 26 - 30th for the Remy preview. We are getting out of town before the 50th. They will be celebrating it for a long time. We'll be back at the end of October for all the new stuff. :)

As far as Stormalong Bay I'm probably the only person that does not like that pool lol. Too big and the one time I attempted the lazy river it almost killed me
Dana likes SAB because of the servers who walk around and take your food and drink orders. :) But I agree that the pool is too hard to get around.

Love your birthday flowers! It looks like you had an awesome day at Stormalong Bay too....it is blissful there!
Hope to stay there again at some point...

LOL! They smelled soooooo good.
That bday dessert was the bomb and I don't even like chocolate.
That lazy river is difficult. I had a hard time getting my butt onto the tube. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I love the Poly too. It's so beautiful. Plus, it has those yummy nachos.

I am dreading the 50th crowds, but I know we will have a blast with the besties. Plus, the parks aren't super important to me anymore. I'd rather have more resort days. So I have no problem popping into the parks but lounging at the resort the rest of the day, lol.

Ale and Compass has become a favorite breakfast spot.

Glad to hear this. We're eating here for the first time next month on our departure day.

Anyway, Joe and I lounged by the pool and swam for a couple of hours, and enjoyed drinks at Hurricane Hannah's. I had the PinaColava and Joe had a Category 5. Both were refreshing and went down waaay too easy, lol.

Fabulous way to spend your day.

I love a good stuffed pretzel.

Such great Disney friends. Love the arrangement. Minnie is a favorite of mine.

What a great birthday surprise from Ariane ❤ ❤ ❤

So glad to hear you all liked Beach Club. It sounds like you and I are having opposite BC/Swan experiences. When we stayed at Beach club we had the infamous scaffolding room and the weather was so crappy we got to the pool for about 5 minutes.

Isn't that so funny! I really was looking forward to the Swan because I had read so many positive reviews.
Sadly, I'd rather stay at a Holiday Inn... 😁

We also meet up with some old friends from the DIS!!!
I don't recognize them?
Anyway, Joe and I lounged by the pool and swam for a couple of hours, and enjoyed drinks at Hurricane Hannah's. I had the PinaColava and Joe had a Category 5. Both were refreshing and went down waaay too easy, lol.

That was such a fun night at HH's the night our Fireworks Cruise fell through! Fun memories!
We'll be at the WL from Sept 26 - 30th for the Remy preview.

Oh Sue!!! You'll be at EPCOT??! I'll be at that park on the 28th and would love to meet up with you! PM me!!

Joe had the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry, fruit preserves, and grilled sourdough
That looks so good. Yum!
We hopped back on the Skyliner after our stop at Bar Riva and decided we were in need of a night swim to help sober up. We were also dying to try the huge water slide at the BC. It was soooooo fun and the water was nice and warm. This was a great idea!
Isn't that slide so much fun. My kids insist on going down before me so they can benefit from the tidal wave I create as I get dumped out (I mean glide gently) into the pool at the end:rotfl:
We ended our night with a few Mickey bars.
Can't think of a better ending.
Ale and Compass has become a favorite breakfast spot.
Love it there. Perfect for nightcaps too.
s a special surprise, our server brought me a chocolate Mickey-shaped brownie/mouse to celebrate it being my birthday. It was absolutely amazing!!!
That was such a nice treat.
Can I just start by saying I love BC and Stormalong Bay!!!
My favourite resort of all time. That pool is something else and now they have cabanas too.
When we got back to the room, I had the most wonderful birthday surprise waiting for me!!!!
Those flowers are just gorgeous. Such a nice surprise from even nicer friends. So glad Ariane likes you enough to not get you "the smell like crap flowers":rotfl:
That lazy river is difficult. I had a hard time getting my butt onto the tube. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
They have added pool chairs recently cos I'm guessing you, me and many others also had troubles getting onto the tubes :rotfl:

Tonight, we met up with some friends at Enchanted Rose. FYI, they tried to park at the Grand Flo but were forced to go back to the TTC to park, even tho they were meeting us and we had dinner reservations. We are finding that the monorail resorts are getting a lot more difficult to get into by car if you don't have a dining reservation...Just an FYI! We also had some difficulty later in the trip getting into the Poly to pick up our mobile order...I'll include our very informative vlog on this matter, lol!!!

Now onto drinks...I started with the Lavender Fog, Nolet’s Silver Dry Gin, Rothman & Winter, Crème de Violette, English Breakfast Tea, Vanilla, and Cream. This not only was very pretty to look at but went down smooth as well. I can't remember what Joe had. But, I will include pics.

Our dear friends, Jenn and Mark also brought me roses to celebrate my birthday. Wow! Double prizes!!!!

All too soon it was time for our dining reservation at the newly reopened and refurbished Citricos. We were so looking forward to this.

Next up, find out what we thought of Citricos...

The roses are really pretty. :) I bet they smelled good, too.

I can't wait to hear about Citrico's. We have an ADR there on Sept 29th. :)

MK resorts including the WL and Epcot resorts have a policy of refusing to let people into their parking lots if they only have a mobile order. Blame the cheaters for that one. You were lucky they let you in. :)
Like you said, Disney needs to be more transparent about the policy. I learned about it from this forum but the regular guests would have no idea about it.

We have now dined here twice since reopening and both times were spectacular!!!!

You are definitely having a special time celebrating this birthday 🎉

We didn't have any problems in June. We mobile ordered from the Wave and Capt Cooks. We drove up, parked, and picked up our food. This time was just plain crazy!!!

Wow, I had no idea Disney was cracking down on parking as much as they are. I mean part of me gets it if people are scamming the system but if you've legit ordered food and they allow you to order food mobilely you'd think they'd let you pick up said food.

Joe and I were shocked. It’s like we are here to give you money and you are going to deny us…What?!?!

FULL DINING EXPERIENCE AT THE NEWLY REOPENED CITRICOS / DISNEY'S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT - 7/25/21

I will have a full dining report tomorrow for those of you who would like to read about it. I will say, that we loved it so much that we dined here again 2 weeks later.
