Thank you all for the kind words and "group hug". My dad is doing well with the surgery they did give him, and he's already cracking up all the nurses with his jokes!

And browneyes is so right about cancer being mean, but unfortunately too many people have to deal with it!

Well - I need to spit-shine my house as yet another sister and her family are arriving today so they can see my dad!

I knew I could count on all you DISsers to give me a shot in the arm! Thanks again!

About 4 years ago, I had the same call from my father's dr. Actually he died 4 years ago Friday. I'm glad the Dr. did what he did and gave your father dignity and respected his needs as an adult.

I'll pray for you, I've been down that road twice and I wish I could give you words of advice. I have none. Take care of yourself, you need to be strong.

Prayers, PD and {{{HUGS}}}. Can't think of anything else to say that everyone else already has said, but just know you have a huge support system here whenever you need it.

Your Dad sounds like a strong man, and his doctors sound compassionate - a good combination.
