999 happy haunts ball

We just found out about the 999 happy haunts ball and have several questions.
When was this announced?
Has it ever been done before?
Is there even a remote chance of still getting tickets?
Any info is greatly appreciated! TIA

I think it was announced about a month ago. I don't recall it ever being done before. And I heard it has sold out. I hope we'll be better prepared for it if they have it next year.

There has been a similar event at Disneyland, but it was prior to the pin phenomenon. It was more of an exclusive banquet type thing, while this is more of a merchandise/pin event. I signed up the first day they announced it - about 4-6 weeks ago. According to the site where I found the form, it's sold out. Attendance is limited to 999 souls.

DH and I can't wait!! Haunted Mansion is my absolute favorite attraction!
