Did anyone else see this on Dizpins.com about half way down the main page? If anyone knows, what is this all about? I will be there that week and I'm curious if its has a pin release associated with it and can anyone get in to the "ball". I don't have any glass slippers and I doubt they make them in size 14

thanks in advance for any info

I saw it, and I'm waiting for more information, too. I would imagine that if it's on Dizpins it would involve pins. I won't be able to go. Is it too early to start the begging line for the pins?

I asked about this on dizpins and Joette responded with a little more info. That it would cost $99 pp to go. Includes dinner. Just so happens I'll be on vacation during that time, so will add this to my things to do while there. I would rather do this then the Halloween Party. Can't wait to find out more.

Here's the info from the thread from dizpins.
That is for WDW...and Disney is just giving you a little teaser...

However...the unconfirmed rumors are that...

Walt Disney World is hosting a Haunted Mansion event this Halloween (October 30, actually.) The event will cost $109.99 per guest (with a 9.99% discount to AP holders.) It'll take place from 8 pm till the stroke of midnight on October 30, 2002. The evening will include a delightfully ghoulish buffet dinner, as well as a chance to meet your favorite characters from the Haunted Mansion. Participants will be limited to a total of 999.
Tentatively scheduled events include early admission to purchase exclusive limited edition merchandise, exclusive souvenirs available only to event participants, a chance to meet and greet the artists of some of the special merchandise and have it signed, exclusive pins, storytelling events, souvenir photos, and more. The Magic Kingdom will be closed to the public, but the surrounding areas of Liberty Square and Frontierland (including the Country Bears, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and of course, our Haunted Mansion) will be open for event participants to enjoy. And, of course, the event won't be complete without a trip through the Haunted Mansion, which promises a few eerie surprises of its own for this special evening.

We will be there at this time and I am so excited about this event.
I would love to do this.

I'll be down there too then. C'mon Disney give us more info.

Larry

The information for this event can be found on Disney's official pin site, which isn't officially official yet, but will be in a month or so. Did that make any sense?

Anyway, this event is what Disney would call a merchandise event. Its a hard ticket event that is themed and promotes and sells limited edition merchandise. The items will range from pins, yest there will be pins, to posters and Lithos, sculptures, shirts, and jackets, and other items that Disney artists create for the event. DL has been doing this for years and will be having their HM event on Oct 3rd. For those that recall the Villlains event from 2000 and the NBC event from last year. Its the same thing.

I am so glad to see that WDW is going to give this a try. We'll be going to the DL and the WDW events this year. It will be truly a Haunted Halloween Mansion season for us.

Hope to see many folks there.

Thanks for the info everyone! It sounds great. I sent in my registration form today.

I registered today also. Was already going so this is an extra perk.

I got the call this afternoon at work today! We are confirmed. We're so excited, and have never been to an event like this before. We'll be doing the MNSSHP the next night, so this will really be something! I asked for more info, but they said they didn't have anything yet. At least we know we are confirmed to go :-) Did anyone else get called?

I faxed my form this morning and later this afternoon I called to make sure they got it (they did). I asked about how soon confirmations will go out and they had no idea on when that will happen. They were swamped with the other events going on or will be going on and said it would be at least two months away.

Could you let us know what event services said to you when you were confirmed. We're all curious and envious you got the official word that you'll be 1 of 999 people attending.

Larry

Special Events didn't give me any information on this event. First they said, Your name is on the list. I asked what that meant... did that mean we would be going? They said Yes, that's what that means. I wish I had more info. Looks like we'll have to wait a while. When I hear something, I'll let everyone know. Did anyone else get called???

I am really thinking this would be a great time... Hmmm I bet the pins will be great too.

I downloaded this registration form from event services, and the price is listed as $119 per person. Just FYI....

I'm in. Hope the special merchandise goes beyond pins though. I'm just a mansion fan.

I'm sure there is going to be a landslide of cool Haunted Mansion stuff. Yes pins will be a part of it because as anyone knows WDW hasen't had a new HM pin in many years. Disneyland seems to get new ones monthly sometimes weekly. Sorry I went off on a little tangent there. There will be a ton of HM stuff because this is WDW first Haunted Mansion Event and seeing how well the Disneyland Event was this one will be just as big or bigger.

What's the deal with the "9s" by the way? Why didn't they make it the 1313 Happy Haunts Ball?

Everyone knows that there are 999 happy haunts in the haunted mansion, but there's always room for 1000, any volunteers???

I'm going and hoping there will be a new WDCC piece to add to my collection, and, of course, PINS!! Nothing like going to the FIRST of many more conventions!

Joyce

I sent in my $$$ and hope to be albe to go (can't usually get off work in October). I am excited!

Disney updated this site today with some of the items that they will be selling at this event: pins, a leather jacket, figurines, t-shirts, etc. No photos but sounds great! I hope I can get off from work - still waiting for approval.
