Finally got a confirmation email! I clicked the status update link -- HP must be magic -- shipping date showed today, and DELIVERY date ALSO showed today! Hmmm. It's not here yet, but now I'm assuming it's on its way.

Mine said that too, but it's 6:30 so I'm guessing it's not true. One of their status things says it ships Sunday for arrival on Tuesday and I'd believe that before I believed it'd be delivered late on a Friday night lol

check your credit card.. if they have not charged your credit card yet.. it is not on the way....

Sorry but HP is not magic. They've given me 3 different ship & delivery dates. I'll believe it when I see a UPS or fedex tracking #.

On the order status website said was unable to process my order to call a rep. I just figured it was cancelled but DH said to call. I called on Thursday got a hold of someone and they said my credit card declined the charge. I didn't ask if the order was cancelled. I was like oh well didn't get one. So today I check my email and Thursday night they sent a shipping conf. email. Just checked my bank account and sure enough there is a authorized charge for the touch pad. I don't want to get excited thinking it will come but I guess there is still hope.

My other order with Onsale was cancelled after I thought I wouldn't get the one from hp.

I ordered mine from HP last Sunday. (early like.. 2am or so pst) I called and got through to a rep today who confirmed my order and said it would ship Tuesday because it had a ship date that said today. (26th, delivery today too! LoL)

So for those of you in the same boat as me, just wanted to post a small update. The rep was very nice, I called a number someone posted a few pages back and got right through. No waiting on hold or anything.

Yeah, I figured it would probably be that way. I don't mind waiting. I was hoping to get it in time for our trip next week to play with on the plane but as long as it eventually comes it will all work out.

My youngest DD found out today that one of her college professors want them to get only the online edition "text" book and bring their lap tops to class.. I was going to save these for either Christmas or birthdays (her's is in Oct). I may just give it to her ahead of time. This would be better to carry than a lap top to class 3 times a week! So the sooner the better for me now.. but as Murphy's law is always with me.. who knows when these will come.. I just hope they do!

Went and checked my CC account and it seems the charge for the TP has been cancelled. Not sure what happened. Is there a time limit on a hold of funds??? Maybe they're getting ready to ship my TP and had to fix the amount since they charged me shipping. Wishfull thinking lol

Amazon has long been rumored to be bringing out an Android powered tablet. They are going to try and target a price point hundreds of dollars cheaper than an iPad, making it up on digital downloads. It should be coming next month, and October at the latest to catch the Christmas gift cycle. Nothing is known about screen size, a huge factor in price. The two things they have going for them are Amazon has had huge success with the Kindle and know what they are doing. The other is the device runs Android which is more popular than Apple's iOS. There are no worries about support or a lack of apps.

Checked my status on HP and they changed the shipping date from today to Aug.29. Delivery date is now Sept. 1. So I guess my order has not been cancelled but man is this taking forever.

my first shipping date was for the 22nd, then it was pushed back to the 27th.. which is tomorrow.. but as of today, my order is still in that "admin" phase.. and nothing has been done on it. I doubt it's going out tomorrow.. It would just be nice if their customer service associates could email us with an update on what is going on since obviously their website for Order Status is incorrect.

thanks i signed up for notification. then i found out DH's work hours have been cut again, so i guess it's a moot point. yep, i'm pretty bummed.

they canceled my pending charges too the other day.. I think there is a time frame on how long they can "hold" money and not actually charge it.. and they cannot charge it until they ship out the item..
