$99 HP Touchpad

Why can't people feel disappointed? They trusted a company to have accurate stock information. Not unreasonable in my mind.
That was my issue with bb. I ordered early enough that if I could have easily picked one up elsewhere.


I doubt that, DH and a coworker scoured every store in the county before noon Saturday and every one was sold out. Everyone thinks if they had immediately received an out of stock notice when they ordered online they could have run right out to Best Buy or Walmart and grabbed one. Good Lord it would have been just like black Friday, hundreds of people trampling each other for the very few touch pads most stores had in stock.
 
:confused3 whining.. when you get a confirmation order, and they charge your credit card, you would naturally believe you are going to be getting your order. After all, that is what a confirmation email means. They are confirming that the order is being processed. When they charge your credit card, they are confirming that you have purchased it and that they are selling it to you. Whining, no, this is not whining. This is a dissatisfied customer and rightfully so. If something is charged on your credit card, yes, you should be guaranteed it.. It is obvious it is Amazon's problem. Their employees do not know how to handle the orders being placed. You don't charge for something you do not physically have nor do you charge for something that you have not shipped out. I suggest instead of telling members that they are whining, you brush up on order processing.. :goodvibes

Amazon is removing them from their site, they will no longer be an Amazon merchant member, at least that is what I was told when I was asking about leaving them feedback. Since they are in the process of removing them, feedback for them has been blocked.

On a positive note, if anyone ordered from HP EPP Friday night and still haven't gotten a shipment notice, keep the faith, I just got mine!
 
Did you pay for expedited shipping? I ordered mine on the 20th also and show a ship date of tomorrow and delivery on the 30th.

Don't hold your breath. I ordered mine on the 20th also. My order still says 8/22 for shipping date & 8/24 for delivery date. I did pay for 2 day shipping but still haven't received a confirmation email that it shipped. :confused:

I give up. If it comes, it comes. I'm not counting on anything.
 
For those that ordered through HP call 888-728-9985 to check order status. I did earlier today, only 1 minute on hold. Told me shows mine will ship on the 26th. HP's two different order status sites show differing dates. One shows the 23rd, other shows today the 24th. Don't rely on website! Call!

ds works at best buy and they got an announced new shipment this evening...he said it was pandelirium!
 
Received our order from best buy today. My understanding is the warehouse will continue to ship out in small amounts to best buy until they are out of stock. I don't know if that seems fair since they have canceled so many orders from other retailers. I hope everyone who ordered one gets theirs soon.

I would like to keep my faith, but it is pretty hard with HP. They had pending charges on my credit card. I ordered Saturday. The pending charges were placed on my card Saturday. I rec'd my confirmation email on Sunday. I continue to check my order status and it changed late Sunday from a ship out date of 8/22 to 8/27. Since then, no status change. It is still in the "admin" phase of the order. As of yesterday, the "pending" charges have been removed from my credit card. There are no charges from HP on there anymore. I have gotten no cancellation email either. I wrote to them, and the I had posted my response in a previous email. The response is a generic response. In other words, my order is in limbo.. I don't know what in the world is going on with it.. I cannot log on with my email address and cust ID#, it states no order found. I can only log on with the PO # information.. and that is where it is showing no status change :confused3 The faith is very hard to keep at this point.. :sad2:

Each time I have called, and I have tried varies numbers (that one included), I have a long, long hold time. 33mins, 74mins, 91mins. I have given up calling. The 33 min one I had to switch over to take another call, that was why I gave up so early on that one. I leave my house 8-5.. I cannot call during the day, so I must be calling peak times.. :confused3 which reminds me.. I have to leave now... off to get a route canal before heading to work..:eek: I will check in later to see how everyone's orders are doing..:goodvibes
 
Family Circle magazine had an article about tablets this month, mostly general stuff. They had pictures of the top tablets, including this one, and a short description. They directed you to www.familycircle.com/tablets for a detailed review - I went to the site this morning, they're reviewing seven tablets, but I scrolled through the screens, and at the 7th, which I'm assuming would be the HP (since it was mentioned and pictured in the article), all I got was an offer to subscribe to the magazine. If anyone else wants to go to that site and finds a review for the HP, maybe you'd cut and paste the review in this thread?
 
Did HP go live again over night? I just got up and checked and the message went from coming soon to out of stock???

Still trying to figure out if I will get one from the asktp website order.

Here is a review of the Touchpad from Engadget, which is pretty much the standard for tech related news. Interestingly enough, they decide if it was a $100 cheaper it would be a winner. It is now $300 cheaper. :)

Called HP (SMB) and they said that they are sorry that all the orders "gummed up" the system for shipping notifications. I asked if mine was getting shipped out and he said that he couldnt see anything different than me. You have to love that! So I may or may not get a shipping notice if it goes out tomorrow like it's supposed to. Took 1 minute to get through.

sorry, they got an UNannounced shipment...it was strictly hush-hush...and they were sold out within minutes. I was at BB yesterday for a while and many many people came in looking.

I think the boat has already sailed on these items.
 
No touchpads for me. I just got through with hp (the first time since Monday) and they told me that my order was changed from an order to a quote and there is nothing they can do. Oh well.

Yes. A list was published online showing each store number and how many touchpads they were each getting in both 16 and 32gb. Many of the stores are selling them today. They'll be giving out numbered tickets similar to what they do on Black Friday.
 
Called HP, the rep told me the order's still there, so either I'm going to get an email saying it's shipped, or an email saying it's canceled because they ran out. LOL I guess it's pretty simple that way. :laughing:
