$99 HP Touchpad

The 16 I ordered from MacMall arrived today! Woohoo! Good luck everyone!

Did you pay for expedited shipping? I ordered mine on the 20th also and show a ship date of tomorrow and delivery on the 30th.

No. Interestingly, my order status also showed a ship date of 8/25 with an estimated arrival of 8/30 last time I checked. I was surprised to see UPS today!

My order cancelled also from Amazon. Disappointed but will figure something out. It took 3 days for them to tell me, but I sitll have a few days to spare for DD birthday!

Your order is approved and being sent to order management.

Not sure what this means exactly, but I'm getting there...slowly.

I just received a confirmation notice from Amazon/OnSale with a delivery tracking number. It stated it was shipped today.

I ordered it on August 21 at 5:30 EST. I was sure it would be cancelled. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!

On the phone my local Best Buy said there wasn't any. On a whim, I went there on my way home from work and they had one left at Customer Service. You are correct, no returns even if the product is defective. For defective products, you have to go thru HP. THey said to check back in a couple of days that they MAY get more in. I am very excited I got one but I was hoping for 2 so I could give 1 to my DH as well. They only had the 32 GB ($149) at that store.

If and when BBY get them in they will snapped up in a heart beat. Also, at BBY they are not taking any orders over the phone at the store or at 888bby or will they hold the unit for customers. At this point, it is just being in the right place at the right time.

Why can't people feel disappointed? They trusted a company to have accurate stock information. Not unreasonable in my mind.
That was my issue with bb. I ordered early enough that if I could have easily picked one up elsewhere.

I got an email too from Amazon that mine has shipped too. Yay, now DH's Xmas shopping for me is done, LOL.

I got an email today from HP in regards to my email asking why I cannot find out the status of my order as well as wanting to know if they are going to wave the shipping charges.....now mind you, this email was sent prior to them removing the pending charges from my credit card today.. which they still have not actually charged me either! There are no charges on my credit card, no pending charges and no cancellation email.. so by what is in the context of this email, I am supposed to be getting my shipment.. but I don't see how..... this is what they said:

If you ordered an HP TouchPad during our discount promotion prior to 4am CT Monday August 22nd you will receive the discounted price and free shipping. We are processing those orders as quickly as possible, and you will receive an order confirmation email in the next 24-72 hours. If you ordered an HP TouchPad after this time, your order will be canceled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Your HP Small and Medium Business Team

I need more, lol. Nieces want them, friend's kids want them! I'm shocked but won't b stuck with any extra with local family and friend's needs.....so so sorry!

A local Best buy showed some availability this afternoon. (Wasn't showing this morning) I figured it was a long shot, but stopped by anyway. Nope. All gone. I'll try to be patient to see if my HP order comes through. This is worse than trying to score a Bag of Crap during a Woot-Off! :rotfl:

Why bother being disappointed in Amazon? I see that as whining.

Were you going to leave bad feedback because things didn't go your way? I don't get that attitude. We all knew going into these orders that we took a risk ordering on line. Until the product is in your hands, you're not guaranteed anything. I just don't see this as Amazon's problem.

:confused3 whining.. when you get a confirmation order, and they charge your credit card, you would naturally believe you are going to be getting your order. After all, that is what a confirmation email means. They are confirming that the order is being processed. When they charge your credit card, they are confirming that you have purchased it and that they are selling it to you. Whining, no, this is not whining. This is a dissatisfied customer and rightfully so. If something is charged on your credit card, yes, you should be guaranteed it.. It is obvious it is Amazon's problem. Their employees do not know how to handle the orders being placed. You don't charge for something you do not physically have nor do you charge for something that you have not shipped out. I suggest instead of telling members that they are whining, you brush up on order processing.. :goodvibes

And let's not forget the ship date. I had every reason to think I was going to get the item I ordered, so I have not looked for it in other places.

Ooops sorry I was whining again :lmao:

Exactly.. many passed up on other venues because they had a confirmation stating they were getting it, they had ship dates.. they had charges on their credit cards.. by no means is this whining. This is an outrage. It is utterly crazy that with today's advanced technology, orders cannot be handled the proper way. If one is going to mark down a product, they should be able to handle the volume of sales it will produce. They should know the stock they have on hand, and not sell more than they have. They should never place charges on a credit card until that product has been boxed up and ready to be placed on the truck for delivery. They should not sent out confirmation emails with ship out dates and eta dates either. This is unacceptable. It is unacceptable regardless which company has done it, be it HP, Amazon, Best Buy, BN, OnSale.. etc.. Customer Service & order processing has just been set back to the days of the invention of the wheel judging by the way these last few days have been handled

Oh, may I have some cheese please to go with my whine? ;)

And the fact that on my confirmation of order it states IN STOCK (bad voodoo jooboo to OnSale and AMazon as the intermediary (sp))
