Probably sound a little like Nancy Kerrigan when she got whacked in the knee with that metal bar, don't I?

But I do have to wonder "why"..
I've always been very drug sensitive - very, very few things I can take without some sort of wild, weird reaction - and I specifically told my new doctor this yesterday morning when I went in for my visit.. When I asked about the flu and pnuemonia shot, she assured me there would be NO problems - but just to be safe, she'd give me the flu shot yesterday and have me come back next Friday for the pnuemonia shot.. She also felt the need to prescribe Lexapro - after she heard what my past year has been like - and although I assured her that I was fine, not depressed, not having trouble sleeping, etc., she "really really" thought I should give it a try anyhow - "just in case".. She gave me some samples (10 mg) and told me to cut them in half and start taking them today..
I came home from getting the shot and was fine for exactly 3 hours - then my stomach started feeling a little queasy.. Then it started to feel REALLY queasy.. Then I started heaving.. Next came the diarrhea.. After that I felt like I was going to pass out.. Then came the teeth-chattering chills and a fever.. Next came the aches and pains.. Then finally, EVERYTHING hurt - even my EYEBALLS!!! It's been 24 hours of plain misery.. Today is my DH's birthday too and it's hard enough missing him, without feeling sick to boot..
I will
not be starting that Lexapro (which I don't need or want anyhow) and I will
not be getting a pnuemonia shot next Friday.. I should have known better.. If there's a reaction to be had,
I'm going to have it..
I think I'd be much better off just "being sick" with "whatever" rather than trying to prevent it or cure it..
Okay..my rant is over.. Back to the holiday cheer..
