90% off Target Christmas Today!

The 2 in 1 mom's apple crisp ones smell really good. I put one in my office at work yesterday and I felt like I was at the bakery :teeth:

I went today (after reading this thread) to the same one I went to the Wednesday after Christmas and I was hoping to be lucky and pick up some more Christmas packaged Clorex (sp?) cleaning wipes at 90% and maybe some other decorations but there was one aisle with barely nothing left. I was disappointed. What a difference from 10 days ago!!

I went to the one in Washington PA today at 5pm (had to work  )
Amazingly enough, they still had some stuff left!! Not alot, but I did get
2 pine garland .24 each
4 Philly Eagles stockings .19 each
2 desk calenders .49 each
2 teacher desk calenders .79 each (my kids "forgot" to take them with the other x-mas gifts!!)
2 stocking w/gliter for names .29 each
2 pks ornament hooks .06 each
1 Farside calender .99
Disney Cutie lip gloss set .49
2 pks of small velvet bows .19 each
3 Glade 2-in-1 candles (mom's apple crisp) .27 each
2 9x9 collage frames .50 each
I didn't need any of this stuff, but considering I got 99.00 worth of stuff for 9.90, how could I pass it up!!! :cool1:
Thanks to all who posted about the "hidden" stuff (candles & cuties)!!! :worship:

I went this morning, all the Christmas isle had left was bows and candy canes. I did have a "discussion" with a Target worker as to why the Hickory Farms beef sticks weren't 90% off since all other Christmas related foods had been. He said they just didn't mark them 90% this year. :confused3 Those would have been nice if they were .49.........I passed them up at $4.29.

I did go over to the "plug ins" section, and snagged the last 4 moms apple crisp ones for .39. However, if I hadn't read about those in one of the posts (thank you), there's NO WAY I would have known they were on sale. There was no sign, no Christmas/Winter packaging.

My question is, does your Target put all holiday things together in one clearance section, or do you guys go around scanning every thing that might be considered holiday??

Looking forward to Valentines clearance.....and hoping to learn more about how Target discounts..........

I peruse the entire store. Today I found the Candelight Processional curio cabinet, regular 69.99 for $6.99!! It was mixed in with the regular furniture stuff near plants (not in the ready to assemble dept.). It doesn't really match my decor, but I'll find a place for it.

I really needed a new lamp and scored today!! I found a stainless lamp base that was regular 59.99 that came up 5.99. The tag is silver and has a snowflake on it. It was with the regular lamps. If you find the lamp, it was coming up "not on file" at the price scanner, but when I entered the "dpci" number from the tag in the scanner, it came up 5.99.

Just came back with the last  stuff that I could find at my target. I went on friday for the 90% and there wasn't much left so I was surprised when I went today that there was an aisle of stuff left. I got a
roll of gold ribbon - very pretty for decorating .19
a nice size red stocking .09
5 glad plug ins refills 5 x .19
really pretty gift tags .12 & .29
the maroon angora stocking w/rhinestones that I put down on friday - (I found one in the mess so I felt I should have it now :goodvibes ) 3.99 (also my big splurge of the bunch)
NBC christmas CD .59
13 disney cuties lip glosses for party favors 13 x .29
pretty maroon bowl .39
a felt wine sack that had a white trim and white pom poms .12
and.........
my most fabulous buy of the century
a 44 piece dinnerware set service for 6 for.............................$2.49!!!!!!!

One of the employess was stocking the shelves with some stuff she got from the back, nothing really that I was interested in, but then she took out the dinnerware set - I can't believe it, it's really nice, not holiday at all! Even my DH couldn't believe it and he usually could care less. He even took it off the shelf and put it in the cart for me when I told him how much it was. Well I guess that's it for this christmas season. I had fun, especially getting those hidden values like the plug in's ( vanilla and apple cinnamon - don't know why these would be 90% off, especially the vanilla, has nothing really to do w/christmas) and the cuties lip gloss which were near the cosmetics and marked $2.99 - no one would have a clue they were clearance ---- except for those who are in the know w/the disboards :teeth: !!!!

I went today, got the glass sets for $1.99, the margarita ones and the drink glass ones, they were with the regular sets, and werent' marked clearance. I scanned them and they came up 90% off. Also got some dishes for $.49, and some bows for $.19. Everything else was pretty much gone, except for cards, had tons left over. I had gone Friday night and there was tons of wrapping paper, barely any left today. I didn't need any, as last year, bought a ton at the after Christmas sales.

How did you know they were on sale????? "I went today, got the glass sets for $1.99, the margarita ones and the drink glass ones, they were with the regular sets, and werent' marked clearance. I scanned them and they came up 90% off."
Did they have holiday packaging?? I'm starting to fear I need to scan everything in the store to find good deals............
Keep in mind though, my Target is the only one w/in 90 miles..........so EVERYBODY goes. Maybe that's why I have trouble finding good deals.......

The reason I knew, was that I had seen them at 75% off at a different store, and just scanned them to be sure.

Keep checking back. My mom & I went on Saturday and the selection was few and far between. Went back on Sunday and they had more stuff which was really nice.

I was told by the cashier that people end up filling their carts (also so no one else gets it), then they get to the cash register and decide they don't want 1/2 of it. It sits at customer service until they get a chance to put it back on the shelf.

Again, keep checking back for this reason.

Anyone know if the Christmas clearance went to salvage this morning or do we have another day of 90% off? I have to meet my mom today so I might try a different Target for the hidden deals if it isn't salvage day.

i know for sure the philly target was going to salvage today, i heard the manager talking to an employee on saturday,,,when it goes to salvage, where does it go?

What does "salvage" really mean? Like, I know it means they would be getting rid of it, but does that include hidden items like the candles and air freshners?? Or do they change the 90% off in the register so the hidden items are no longer 90% off?? Anyone know?

I was going to check out another Target today for hidden deals like the glasses and more glade stuff. I bought three glade air wisps (the ones that are usually $6.79- they last 60 days). The apple cinnamon was only 67 cents but for some reason the apple cinnamon refills were still $3.14 :confused3 So I bought three of the batter-operated wispers for 67 cents each.

I wanted to look for the glasses!! I need champagne glasses. I had totally forgotten about these when I went before.

Oh well, I've got to go to Walmart anyway and there is a Target nearby. I'll check today and report back what I find ;)

I went again to the Target near me on Friday night and went through the entire store, loaded up my cart then scanned everything, I was surprised as to what was NOT marked down:

The rubbermaid take along christmas containers - full price;

Christmas plastic storage boxes - full price;

I did get 3 NASCAR desk calendars that were marked $9.99 on the shelve for .99 each;

I also found some Reynold's star baking cups for .19.

I scanned both of those on Saturday. I was also surprised :(

Maybe once people are over taking down their xmas decorations they'll go down? I hope!

Everything I scanned today came up full price. It was fun while it lasted!

This is my understanding of 'salvage'. Everything clearanced is pulled from the shelves, put on pallets and then donated to local charities. I know when we lived in TN, most of the stuff went to Goodwill. The items are marked back to full price in the system before the donation is made (getting maximum donation value). This is typical of all salvaged items from Target - not just Christmas. I found lots of Target items at Goodwill - typically more expensive that what Target had it listed at the beginning of their clearance on the item. LOL!

If something is a hidden deal, that item goes back to full price and continues to sell until they are out of stock. It is always a bummer when I find a hidden clearance deal and I scan it, only to see the full price. :( Once a salvaged item goes to NOF (Not On File) or 0.00, sometimes you can get the Customer Service person to sell it to you at a discounted rate, but typically they just take it from you and remove it from the floor.

Well - that's my understanding. As you can tell, I probably Target clearance shop WAY too much! LOL!

Thanks for the great answer geetey!!!

I went to Target today like I said... nothin. There wasn't anything anywhere. I found a cute box to hold ribbon and stuff, xmas colors- rang up $5.99. Yeah right.

Also, when I went to the air freshner aisle ALL of the mom's apple crisp candles were gone, along with anything else that could have possibly been on sale. After reading that they all went back to regular price- I'm glad there weren't any left!! I'd have been so upset!!!

I did buy some storage containers there as there were a bunch on sale. I'm trying to reorganize my life this year ;)

I went to Walmart and I bought a 7.5ft artificial tree bag on sale for $14.97, a wrapping paper/supplies bag for $14.97 and a hanging wrapping supplies thingy for $9.98. Not that bad. They had 56 qt rubbermaid containers on sale for $5.97 too- way cheaper than Target. They weren't marked but I had grabbed 3 cuz I needed them anyway and they rang up at that price. Made me feel better about the Target let down :)

It was fun while it lasted... and I've got a drawer full of 22 Glade 2-in-1 mom's apple crisp candles out of it! :rotfl:

I went to Target last night and everything here was still 75% off. The toys were only 30%. I don't know about today though. It usually is Tuesday when our Target goes down in % off. So I was guessing tomorrow will be the 90% off sell and the toys will go to 50% and then another week or two until they go to 90%.
I live in San Antonio if anyone was wondering.
Thanks,
Jennifer
