Hi - I'm cruising soon with my mom, sister, and 6 of our kids. So 3 adults, 6 kids. We booked three rooms under each adult's name and then spread out my sister's 4 kids. I'm not actually sure how we'll want to split up sleeping, but I am sort of hoping the 4 teen boys will stay together. :) Will this be an issue with the crew if we are not in our designated rooms? We'll all have keys to each others' rooms I am sure.

Shouldn't be a problem at all, people do it all the time. However, the room steward may need an extra gratuity for dealing with 4 teen boys!!

For the muster drill everyone will need to report to their actual assigned station however.

We often travel with extended family and the children have sleepovers. I make sure the room steward is taken care of. :flower3:

If you want to guarantee that one cabin can sleep 4 people, I would book one cabin with 1 adult and 3 teens. Not all cabins can sleep 4 even if they are the same category cabins - they don't all have the pull down bunk but if you book 4 in the room, it will have the bunk. Also keep in mind that two will need to share the main bed as it can no longer be split into two. Some of the family rooms have a Murphy bed if you want each teen to have his own bed.

Also, you will need to go to Guest Services and get new key cards made when you finally determine who will sleep in which room if it differs from the original reservation.

Plus, I'll point out, whatever room, say, child A is registered in, the adult also registered in that room will have to sign a permission slip for any other adults (not in the same room) to be able to take that child off the ship. Yes, even if that "other" person is the child's actual parent (but in a different room).

Not just muster drills but in event of actual emergencies.

I think that OP likely has all rooms close to one another, so it could be they share a muster station.

Yes, it could be. Not not necessarily. We had adjoining rooms on one cruise (not connecting, adjoining) and my room mustered in the WDT, while our other room mustered on deck.
