9 Days Poly CL DxDP...Too Much Food???...Too Much Fun!!!...1600 Pictures

We booked TPV for our honeymoon two years back, and were blessed enough to have had a little pixie dust sprinkled on us last year - we were upgraded to our honeymoon room for free. It was amazing! This year we booked TPV again thanks to the government being so generous with our refund (haha). Can't wait! I've been way too spoiled, for sure! It is truly the best - especially looking out over the color-changing castle before settling in for bed. Siiiiigh...

This is one thing that I will so miss on our next trip. If it weren't for my DS9 begging to go to the SAB pool, I would be at the Poly. Oh well...guess we will have to plan another trip for 2012:rotfl:

Great video! I have always wanted to see how they look from CG since I've heard so many great things about the view. I have to admit, it's irritating to me when people talk all the way through this or Illuminations. I want to shush them! But I don't. No need to brawl in WDW. :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl: A fight in WDW probably wouldn't be the best idea. If it had been our first time viewing the fireworks, I would have been EXTREMELY irratated and upset. But, since we had already seen them several times that week, I just laughed it off....kind of;)

Wow! I think we are gonna upgrade to CL! Does anyone know what kind of beer is offered and for how long it is available? That is my hubby's one enjoyment to have a beer!

You can get beer throughout the day, you just have to ask a CM. In the evening, the wine, beer, & "adult" punch was out. If I'm not mistaken, there was a Hawaiian beer, Yuengling, and a couple of others....sorry, I don't recall. Does anyone else remember??

Check out this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2280631 It's the Club level thread and really, really good!!

You will love CL! Very convenient! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Happy Planning!

Oh my god, I just spent over an hour reading this and thanks so much for all the info! We love the Poly and just decided to go on Dec 1st! Might even try the club level for something different!

I would love to go at Christmas, but not an option this year. You will fall in love with the Poly...it will completely spoil you!!! Are you getting any kind of discount during that time? Free dining or a percent off your room?

Once again, I decided to rise early and get a few more early morning shots of the Poly. This time of morning is my favorite!! You rarely run into any other guest....it's like you have the entire resort to yourself;) There were a couple of people, like myself, walking around with cameras....guess they had the same idea.

I must say, I was getting a little sad....this is next to the last day...will be leaving on Sunday. One would think that I should be ready to go home after 8 days.....NOPE!! I could easily stay here 2 weeks.

On this particular morning, I decided to venture over to Fiji and check it out. On my way over, I snapped a couple of shots.

Hey look!!! There isn't a soul at this table!! Give em' about an hour and there will be towels and shoes reserving the tables around the pool. I was so surprised to see that people were reserving chairs and tables as early as 8am....that's because the Volcano pool gets super crowded;) And a pet peeve of mine....DON'T reserve a table if you are only using it for a place to store your towel:headache:....more on that later;)

As I was walking over to Fiji, I caught another glimpse of a duck taking a morning bath.

These guys were everywhere!! Wish I had taken a picture of the lil' ducklings crossing the paths....they were so cute.

As I get over to the marina, I realize that even though Fiji is in the Garden View Category, they have an excellent marina/water view!!!

Over to the left of this picture is Fiji....I was wondering if you can see the castle from any of these rooms on the marina side:confused3??

IMO...this would be a GREAT longhouse to request! You pay for GV, but get a bit more. Wait to you see the OTHER side of Fiji and the view those guest get!!!

Now, I'm on the other side of Fiji...notice the sign! There's a beach on the other side!!! Your own private beach!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me??? This is a GV?! Does anyone remember swimming in the lake at the Poly? That was years ago, I know....I love looking at the old pictures of the Poly and seeing the people out in the lake.

Okay....and the other view that Fiji has......THIS!!!!! Who wouldn't love waking up each morning and getting a glimpse of their own private beach with the GF in the background?!

It was soooooo peaceful over on this side of the Poly. I could deal with this view any day....especailly at a GV price:woohoo: Now, I do realize that there is a drawback to staying in Fiji....longer walk to the TTC. That's really the only negative I could see....perhaps there are more??? Any more drawbacks???

Stay tuned for a Star Wars morning at DHS!

Once again, gorgeous pictures!! Can't wait to see all this in person. Under 40 days now :cool1:

Anxious to hear your review of SWW - DS5 is a huge fan and I thought about taking him this year, but I understand it gets unbearably crowded :scared1: Not sure if it would be worth it...

Great pictures, Heather! Early morning at the Poly is so tranquil and beautiful! I never get tired of seeing those pictures!

I agree...Fiji is a great location to request if you have GV! So pretty! :cloud9:

Beautiful pictures! One thing I am really looking forward to on our trip is an early morning walk or two around the Poly with my camera.

I'm determined that on our vacation we will get a family photo for the Christmas card. Are you doing that? Anyone else?

You are really, really inspiring me to get up with DH in the early morning to take a walk around the grounds. It's his favorite time and I can see why from your shots! Of course, who knows how I'll actually feel once the obligatory exhaustion sets in... ;)

I actually stayed at the Poly with the two little ones whild DH, DS9 and grandparents went to DHS...they are going to have to help me write the installment;) DS9 loved it!!!...actually all of them loved it.

Beautiful pictures! I think Fiji looks fabulous!

Thanks for the nice comments! I'm curious....you don't hear much about Fiji being the "place" to stay....wonder what's wrong with it:rotfl: I mean, it's GV price with a great view. Hmmmmm....interesting. Perhaps it's one of the Poly's best kept secrets;)

I stumbled onto your trip report during a 4 am feeding earlier today! :rotfl:
It looks like you had a great trip! I look forward to reading more!

Pictures for Christmas cards are an EXCELLENT idea!!! To be honest, I have never given it any thought. Of course we always send out cards, so why not?! I would love to have a family photo on the Poly beach!...perfect spot. Are y'all going to get the Photopass people to do a photo session? Have always wanted to do that.

Maybe you can devote just 1 early morning to your schedule;) I guess one of the things that work in my favor is that I get up early anyway....never sleep late at all. So for me, it's pretty easy. I use to sleep late...then we had 3 kids:rotfl: and notice their ages....they are up with the chickens. No teenagers, yet.

We go to WDW every other Thanksgiving with our family of 23. We have a family photo taken in front of different signature landmarks. We started with the EPCOT spaceball, Sorcerer's Hat, the castle, and Chef Mickey's. I use PhotoPAss to make my Xmascards, Each family is dressed in different color t-shirts so people can keep track of which child belongs to which family. It a bit like herding cats but the Photo pass folks are great.

Your little baby is so precious...I remember those days of 4am feedings! They weren't so long ago.:lovestruc

Ok...wow! Did you say 23 people??! I would love to see photos of your family!!! Do you have any you can post? What a cool idea! You must have tons of patience;)

We are just going to wing it on the pictures. Since we are doing a Wishes (or Summer Nightastic) fireworks cruise I didn't want to pay for the photopass session but it does sound fun.

:thumbsup2
These are just stunning pictures...

Thanks! DH bought me a new camera for the trip...now, I just need to finish learning how to use it;)

By the way...I clicked on your TR...AWESOME! DS3 and I sat and watched several of the video clips. He loved the waterslide portion. Can't wait to show DH when he gets home. Really neat seeing a BC video....our June trip will be to the BC:woohoo:...can't wait to finish viewing all of the clips. What a neat idea!!!

Hi Heather!!! We're back from our CL stay and I'm having serious withdrawals! :( I got up early too one morning and got some cool shots, but it was really humid and some of them came out spooky!!! While I was waiting for the sun to come up on the beach they were running a cue to cue for the lights on the castle during Summer Nightastic fireworks. It was fun to watch (I'm a theatre director) someone ELSE doing a cue to cue for a change - LOL! Anyway, I totally agree with you about how nice it is to walk around with only the ducks for company! DD and DH had no idea I was out and about with cameras in hand! :lmao:
