9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

What a sweet encounter with Tigger! I love moments like that! I am anxious to hear your review of Le Cellier, we have a dinner ADR there in March.

I'm still here Shelley! I just don't Dis too much when I am not at work. Priorities you know.

I'm glad that the boys found all of the Kidcot stops. I know that some of them are tucked away in little corners and can be hard to locate.

Thank goodness your son remembered his camera otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see you and Tigger together.

Love your priorities! :thumbsup2 DISing at work. :rotfl:

Yes, we did eventually find all the Kidcot Stops. I guess I just expected them to be in more obvious locations. :confused3

I am so glad DS took a picture! :)

I love love love that picture, it turned out so beautiful!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I love your encounter with Tigger!! :lovestruc DS took a great picture! :thumbsup2

Thanks Amy! :goodvibes DS is becoming quite the little photographer!

I think this is my favorite picture I've ever seen. You could win a prize with it-- disney memories. It is precious and you should frame it.

I love that area where the Winnie the Pooh characters are. Last time we were there, I got groped by a very infatuated, yet shy, Eeyore.:rotfl2: It was love at first sight.:lmao:
I think it's college kids that think they are hawt b/c they have Moms seeking them out in earnest.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

This was an awsome update, made even awesom-er by listening to Illuminations on the computer.:rotfl: I'm obsessed, yes I am.

Your boys looked like they were having the best day-- and i know they probably thought that moment with Tigger was the funniest thing ever.

Can't wait for more.popcorn::

drakes-- thanks so much for the Bday wishes! I had a really great day.:goodvibes

oooh - JoBird - thanks for mentioning music!! I'm sitting here at work with my iphone staring at me saying "you idiot - turn on some Disney music!"

She's right Shelly - you should submit that picture to a contest or something!! Maybe Disney could use it in their advertising - you know "Adults love characters too!" or something!

I'm a day behind, so I had 2 Epcot updates to read! I'm loving all the great pics again. :thumbsup2 WS is just about my favorite thing in all of WDW. The pictures of the boys with Pooh and Tigger are adorable! And your DS10 did an awesome photography job of capturing that special moment with you and Tigger. That one should be framed in your home!

Glad you are all caught up again and enjoying the pictures!

It sure was a nice surprise to run into Pooh & Tigger that day and get some really cute pics!

Thanks JO!

Groped by Eeyore!! :rotfl2: My Tigger was very respectful! :rotfl:

Glad you are enjoying the updates to some Disney music. :cloud9:

Sounds like you better get some Disney music on!

Okay, I will be on the look-out for that contest!! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

Shelly- your DS could enter it in a contest in his age group-- I really bet he would win. We'll all have to be on the lookout for something for you. I think I've seen a lot of those type contests online around the Spring.

And -- Tigger IS a gentleman.... Eeyore's just a perv.:rotfl2:
He kept hugging and squeezing me. At one point Mark gave him the evil eye.:lmao:

But Chip of Chip and Dale fame did the same thing to me at the Garden Grill- he kept squeezing me. I guess I look like a woman who needs a good groping or something.:lmao:
Mark called him a squirrel and he stomped off mad.:lmao:

Oooooh I CAN NOT WAIT to see the Le Cellier pics. I am dying to go back there this coming trip. :woohoo:

And - I think that your boys would like K:P :thumbsup2

Bob and I did it. :lmao: And it doesn't take up too much time. You can do it on and off - pick which countries you want to do them in, and you can do as many missions as you like. They're pretty quick for each one.... maybe like 20 minutes for each.

I would definitely give it a try next time - it's pretty fun!

This has been such a fun report to read. Its got me so excited and its perfect timing as I get to call DVC tomorrow to book our next trip for next December! Awesome photos and what a cute Tigger experience.

Oh No - LeCellier has always been a favorite

Thanks for sharing

20 minutes each!! That would seem like a lifetime to me!

Maybe we could give it a try sometime when we are staying in the Epcot area (you know BC/YC/BWI :cloud9:), then we could just stroll over and do KP on an evening when we don't have anything else to do!

Welcome to my TR! :goodvibes Glad you have enjoyed reading it.

Congrats on calling DVC tomorrow! :cool1:

LeCellier had always been a favorite of ours too.

Thanks a lot Shelly! :headache: After reading your Epcot update I now have added *research KidCot locations and Passports* to my To Do list!

Just kidding. I'm glad you posted it! I almost forgot! :goodvibes Last trip we didn't get to Epcot so I'm hoping to spend a decent amount of time there this time around. I think the kids will like making the masks and it will make it more fun for all of us!

Love the story behind Tigger! DS took such a wonderful picture for you!

Okay, I'm back to do my LeCellier update, as promised.

Thursday November 12th continued ~

So after our Tigger encounter we were headed on to the last country in our journey ~ Canada.

The kids finished up their masks!

It was now around 4:30 and we had a 6:00 ADR at LeCellier. And the kids had a 5:00 reservation at the Sandcastle Kid's Club at the Beach Club! They were very excited about it!!We had taken them there once back in May 2008 when we went to dinner at LeCellier for our 10th anniversary. And they absolutely loved it! And we felt very comfortable leaving them there. And this is coming from a mom who rarely ever leaves her kids anywhere!! Seriously, DH and I get a date night about 1-2 times a year.

On the last trip we didn't take them to the Kid's Club. Instead they did the Pirate Cruise at CBR, which they loved very much too. But they were really looking forward to going back to Sandcastle this time to play video games!!

So we casually strolled over to the BC and got to the Kid's Club. We were greeted at the door and we got them all signed in and they got to pick their dinners and what time to have them come. I'm pretty sure DS8 picked chicken nuggets and I know DS10 picked pizza. But can you believe they forgot to take a picture of their food??? That was the first thing DS10 said to me when we picked them up later -- that he forgot to take food pics!

After the kids were all settled in - which took all of about 2 minutes :rotfl:, DH and I were headed back to Epcot for dinner.

DisneyNovember2009870.jpg

We were very early for our ADR, it was probably about 5:15. We went to the podium and asked if we could get seated early, but were told no. We remembered that we had Soarin fastpasses left from earlier in the day. So we headed over there! It was a wonderful ride, as always. :lovestruc It seemed weird to be on it without the kids though. I don't think we ever did tell them that we rode it without them!

We went back to LeCellier closer to 6:00 and checked in. We were seated about 15 minutes later. We were finally there ~ we had been looking forward to this dinner since our last trip! :lovestruc

DisneyNovember2009862.jpg

We were shown to our seats. Of course our table was VERY close to the one next to us. One side of our table was booth and the other side was a chair. I sat in the booth seat and the kid at the next table kept kicking me with his foot for the first 10 minutes or so until his parents finally noticed! Our waiter came and he was very nice and helpful. We ordered our drinks and took a look at the menu even though we already knew what we wanted to order, same as the last time we were there since everything had been so great!

DH ordered the "Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce" and I ordered the "New York Strip Steak - topped with bercy butter and served with Gruyere Yukon Gold Potatoes".

Our drinks and bread sticks were brought out right away. We could hear the people at the table behind DH complaining that their steaks were not done right. But just figured they were being picky, because everything has always been perfect here for us. We didn't think much of it and just went on enjoying our breadsticks and alone time. A little later our waiter walks by and says that our entrees should be out at any minute now. We hadn't really thought much about it at the time, but then looked at the time and we had waited quite awhile at that point. Must have been why he told us that. Then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. He came by another time and apologized for the wait and said it would be right up. But we waited and waited some more. Finally another CM brought out our dinners. He set them down and left. I cut into my steak that I asked for well done (like I always do) and the blood came streaming out onto the plate. Sorry for being so gross, but I am very serious. It was nasty!! Rare to say the least. DH had asked for his medium-well and it was also rare. He can eat his like that though, but I can't. :sad2: I am not one to send food back, but there was no way I could eat that. I waited about 3-4 minutes before our waiter came back by. He noticed my disgust and the blood on the plate. I said - this is nowhere near well done. He apologized and took it back. I told DH to go ahead and start eating before his got cold. So he started to eat his slowly, hoping mine would be back out soon. I was glad to wait, as long as it was well done when they brought it back out. It was about 10 minutes later the waiter came back out with it. The edges were nearly done this time, but the middle still very pink. I just couldn't believe it. Neither could our waiter. At this point I was pretty upset and when he offered to take it back AGAIN, I declined. I told him that I would just eat around the outside where is was nearly done and that we didn't really plan to be in the restaurant all night. He said he would sent his manager over. Pretty soon she comes over and says -- I understand there is a problem with your food not being prepared correctly. And I explained that my well done steak was very rare and bloody, even after I sent it back and that we had been in there for quite some time and our kid were at the Kid's Club and we didn't want to be in there all night. She wasn't the friendliest, but did apologized and said that we wouldn't be charged for my meal. Well that was nice, but we were on the dining plan, free dining at that!

On top of all that I thought I at least had my potatoes to look forward to since they had always been so good in the past. They were hard and not done either. :sad2: I couldn't believe it. I didn't even say anything to the waiter about this.

Sensing our frustration our waiter suggested that we put in our dessert order early so we didn't have to wait much longer. I ordered the Campfire Smores. This was my absolute favorite all-time dessert at Disney and I had so been looking forward to it (prior to the meal). But at this point my stomach was upset and I could have really cared less about it. I did have a few bights, and I don't think there was anything wrong with it, it was just me. DH said his steak was just okay, but the center was so rare that it was cool. So not the medium-well that he had ordered. He didn't finish is meal either. He said his dessert was good though. I had noted that we were celebrating his birthday that evening when I made the ADR, so they wrote Happy Birthday on his dessert plate and gave him a card signed by all the CM's.

When the bill came we were only charged for 1 TS credit and the total bill was $47.

So overall it was a very disappointing meal. The worst of the trip actually. Maybe it wouldn't have been so disappointing if we hadn't been looking so forward to it. :confused3 I don't know. But I will definitely not be getting up at 6:00AM 6 months out to make an ADR at LeCellier again!

Up Next: Picking up the kids at the Kid's Club and the rest of our evening at Epcot.

:faint:

OMGosh- you know me well--- the blood would've been a deal breaker, not once but twice!!!!!!!!!!:sad2: That is just so very disgustingly gross I can't even put into words how horrible I think it was.
So sorry your meal was such a terrible event-- and you were looking forward to it so much. :headache:

I did have to LOL at the free dining comment--- I know it wasn't funny- but it was a bit ironic.

I've never heard bad things about Le Cellier before a couple of months ago--- and I was able to get ADR's pretty easy for the MAY trip. I wonder if the word has gotten out?

Hope the rest of the trip goes well.:guilty:

I hate your meal turned out so badly! That stinks when you are looking forward to something so much. I do love that Tigger picture, though. Too precious! I think it is great your son thought to take it.

What a disappointment in Le Cellier! Sorry about your experience. That is one of our favorites in Disney. We will still give it a try this trip, but won't try it again if we have an experience like yours!

Wow. :faint: That meal must have been soooooo disappointing. What a bummer! :headache: I would have been devastated! My DH talks about LC all the time...I'll have to tell him what happened...he won't be happy.

Finally - I made it over here today!

This is a AWESOME picture - you should definitely get it framed - in a Disney frame no less! Kudos to the photographer!

Sorry to hear your Le Cellier meal was so bad! I am now wondering if our Le Cellier meal last April was so-so... It wasn't the Le Cellier I remembered, but I was blaming it on having eaten at Teppan Edo for lunch the same day. :confused3 Hmmm... I guess I won't feel too bad if I can't keep our Le Cellier ADR this year.
