Up Next: ABC Commissary, more fun at DHS, and would they ever get RNRC fixed today?

I love that you keep leaving us with little cliffhangers!! One of my favourite rides is RNRC too - but I've never had any of the problems you're describing. One thing I have noticed is that I only ever hear "Walk this Way" on the actual ride part, but some of the CMs have mentioned that there's other songs they play too. Can't confirm if this is true or not though...

One of my favourite rides is RNRC too - but I've never had any of the problems you're describing. We have had trouble with the music cutting in and out before, but never this bad.

Hmm. . . interesting about the songs. . . I am pretty sure we have heard other songs playing during the ride. Or maybe I am thinking of the songs playing outside of the ride. . . I know we have heard a lot of them outside. . . I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, Crazy, Angel, Sweet Emotion, Living On The Edge, Dream On, Rag Doll, What It Takes, etc. As you can tell, we like to hang out afterwards and listen to the music! I'm trying to picture being on the ride and the songs we have heard. . . I would say that Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, and maybe Living On The Edge have been playing on the ride. . . I will definitely pay more attention next time and get to the bottom of this!

Those are the dates we are looking at too!

You know that the 7th is the day we turn the clocks back, right? Which means an extra hour in WDW!! But also means that I will be screwed up from the time change the entire week. I don't know why it messes me up so bad. This year we arrived a week after the time change and I was still messed up for about 3 days into the trip. When it got dark so early I was suddenly tired and felt like we should be back at the resort rather than in the parks! Good thing I came out of my funk by Tuesday and we were able to enjoy DHS all day and well past dark!!

Yeah, I noticed it when I was looking at my 2010 calendar (to plan a WDW trip!).

If all goes well we would like to go that week. As for where we are going to stay. . . Well that depends. . . I would LOVE to take advantage of my 40% off a Deluxe PIN and stay in the BW area. But if that doesn't work out then we will stay at CBR in a pirate room.

Maybe we can have a DIS meet!

Tuesday November 10th continued ~


So it was shortly after 11:00 and we went into the ABC Commissary. We had heard mixed reviews about this place, actually most of them were bad reviews. But we just needed something to hold us over until our 4:30 ADR at Sci-Fi. So how bad could it be? The answer - pretty bad. The good news is that the CM's are very nice and helpful and friendly! The one at the register looked at the kids pins and talked to them the whole time we waited on our food. The CM's behind the counter were very friendly as well. They weren't very busy yet and we got our food in a short amount of time.

DH and I both got a cheeseburger and fries. He got the strawberry parfait for dessert and I got the chocolate mousse. The only thing good was the chocolate mousse! The burgers would have been okay, but they were soggy.The kids both got a hamburger meal with fries and a cookie. But DS8 ordered his hamburger with no hamburger! Just a bun!

It was a pretty quiet and quick lunch. Very cold. The air conditioning was blasting in there and it wasn't really necessary. The CM's were even complaining about it.

We used 4 CS credits and the total bill was $40.



From there we went to Star Tours. The kids love this ride! We waited about 10 minutes.

Of course we were in the Star Wars gift shop longer than we were on the ride!

And when we finally got out of there we had to stop for these pics on the SW Speeder!

One thing we had never done was Walt Disney One Man's Dream. I really wanted to see this attraction this time. So instead of putting it off for later and never getting back to it I decided we should just go right now!

We walked through the exhibits and got to the theater part and the CM's said it was 8 minute until the next show. So we walked around and looked at everything and waited. The show was very nice and I am so glad we finally took the opportunity to see it.

Another great report Shelly. I am glad you saw One Man's Dream this time. That was one of my favorites at DHS.

You know, you would think that Disney would be searching these message boards and reading the reviews and taking note of peoples comments about their food in some these notoriously bad restaurants.

Isn't it ironic that they can't fix these places? It's not like they don't have the money or can't find the right people to fix these places.

And another thing, there are a lot of kids like your son who have special food needs. Why can't they create menu of 3-5 plain items at every place? Wouldn't it be cool if Disney took the lead in this area and hire a nutritionist and developed a menu? I am sure that would be a relief and a lot of grateful parents if they had that option.

Hi Shelly. I had no idea you were writing a trip report. Well I'm a little late but going back to read and get caught up. Funny that your ME dropped Yacht club off first. Ours dropped us off at Yacht Club last. yes it was a long ride.

All caught up, just spent the last hour getting up to date on your trippie. Looks like you guys had a great time well except the frog in your room and the loud obnoxious lady who sat on your poor DS. POR looks really nice. I think we may try it sometime after seeing all your pics. We did love their food court last May. Thanks for posting pics from the Star Wars concert, my little boy is a huge fan too. The rest of us not so much. I'm enjoying your TR so far and your family is just too cute.

Most times we prefer to eat at the food courts than at the park CS places. The food courts are so much better!

Glad this update didn't bore you into a sleep!

Yes, ABC Commissary was pretty much just like we had heard it was going to be. We had hopes of the food being good if we were one of the first customers of the day, but it was still just average. Oh well!

I could take it or leave it when it comes to Star Tours. Maybe it will be better when it gets it's rehab in 2011. The boys sure are excited about the prospect of it being even better and 3-D!

Yes, you've got to see One Mans Dream. It is very cool.

Ooooooh, I remember riding Star Tours W-A-Y back in 2000 which was my first grown up trip (2nd overall) and we had my 11 year old nephew with us...I still remember the nausea I felt on that ride. Almost as bad as Mission Space. ICK!

And I can't believe your son won't do ToT. That is my all time favorite ride and I think it's less scary that RnRC. But I think Drew is gearing up to be the same way. When we went to Six Flags over the summer, he was WAY more courageous with the roller coasters than I ever thought he'd be. He even went on some of the ones that went upside down. And this kid is still afraid of Santa!!

DS10 is certainly not shy and will talk to anyone, but he just doesn't like dark & scary rides. I think he thought TOT (and the HM) was going to be REALLY dark and scary and things would be jumping out at him or something. I tried to keep telling him that is wasn't like that, but he was still like - no way everytime we walked by it! I tried to point out to him that he would really love the "ride" part of TOT if he could just get past his fear of being scared!
