9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

Great update! Love the pics from BRG- still hoping to squeeze in a lunch or dinner there this trip.

Boardwalk looks like such a beautiful place to stay. If I could convince DH to buy into DVC that's the one I'd pick as our home resort...someday.:wizard:

More great posts, and I'm still so bummed about not being able to see the pictures at work...BOOOOOOO WORK!! :)

We love the atmosphere on the Boardwalk, too. We've eaten at Spoodles twice and just love walking down there, watchting the street performers, dreaming about staying RIGHT THERE... One day...

Mmmmm, your dinner at BRG looked really good! That was great of the server to let you use the coupon with the dining plan.

I hope you get to go to BRG! Don't forget to go online and sign up for the emails and get that free appetizer!! But don't do it until you are within a month of your trip. The coupon is only good for one month from the time you sign up.

Thanks!

Stupid work!! :rotfl:

I am dreaming about staying there someday too! :cloud9:

Shelly - Excellent food shots - love the deal on those nachos. Good score! The food (especially those desserts) looks really good there, glad to hear that it tastes as good as it looks. I will have to try that place some day. Thanks for the update! - Sea

I love the Boardwalk  The Big Grill Brewery is a great place to eat - we ate there last December and sat outside. It was a little chilly but it was sunny so that kept us warm. The Magician is so much fun - our room was on the third floor to the right of where he was standing (in the blue section of the building) and a couple of nights we stood on the balcony watching him. I love the reaction from the kids! We are going to stay there again in December 2010 and hoping to get a boardwalk view room again. We rent points and found it less than staying at a moderate - we absolutely love the location.

You are having so much fun - can't wait to read more!

Monday November 9th continued ~

When we got back to Epcot our TT fastpasses had expired. But they let us use them anyway! So we went for a quick spin on TT and then the boys wanted to do Mission Space. I don't do MS after my last experiences on it. YUCK!! I thought I was going to pass out. Don't do well with the enclosed spaces. So DH took the kids on the green version. Wait time said 10 minutes. He said they didn't even wait that long. As I was sitting alone outside of MS I realized that it was right around 8:00 and got to thinking that maybe we should just stay for IllumiNations. We had planned to see it on Thursday night after we spent the whole day at Epcot, but I figured that we might be too tired to stay on Thursday night after a long day. So I went into the gift shop at the exit of Mission Space and got the kids some snacks for while we were waiting for IllimiNations, if that's what we decided to do. I got a bag of cotton candy for DS10 and a giant gummy hamburger for DS8! The CM's let me use a snack credit for each of them!

When DH and the kids came out of MS I told DH that I was thinking about staying for IllumiNations and he thought that was a good idea. We told the kids and of course they complained about having to wait nearly an hour! I told them that I got them a surprise and we needed to go look for a good spot.

We got a great spot right there where World Showcase starts. Where if you go right you will go towards Canada and if you go left you will go towards Mexico. Right up front by the water. We took a seat on the ground leaning on a fence up until about 10 minutes before it started and then we moved up as far as we could, which was right behind the line of people in scooters. So we could see great! We had only seen IllumiNations once before and didn't have a very good spot, so this was the first time we saw the entire show. Wow, it is great. I think I might even like it better than Fantasmic!

Continued. . .

After the show we headed to the POR/POFQ bus stop. Where there was a huge line. We waited about 15 minutes for a bus and it was standing room only when we finally got on. I really think they need to have seperate buses for POR and POFQ coming back from Epcot, like they do at MK. Luckily it is a short 5 minute ride back to POR from Epcot.

So we were back to POR in no time. The kids got changed into their pj's and I went to wash my face. I turned on the bathroom light and went to reach for my washcloth and saw 2 little eyes looking at me!!:eek::eek: I didn't take time to investigate, I just ran away and yelled to DH that there was something on my make-up bag. He went over and took a look. He grabbed the camera first and took it's picture! I guess he thought Disney was going to compensate us for having a FROG in our room. Yeah, right! So anyway, DH tries to catch the thing and it jumps clear to the top of the mirror. Boy could that thing jump high and fast!! :rotfl: Eventually he did catch it and it went out over the balcony/hallway ledge!

He took the camera to the front desk to show a CM. She said -- it's a tree frog, I can call pest control if you'd like. DH explained to her that he already got it out of the room. She said those sorts of things can get in when housekeeping has the door open. But at that point we hadn't even had housekeeping come in yet. So I'm guessing Mr. Froggy had been in there since we had checked it. :sad2: DH told her that we had to throw out all of our toothbrushes and food. She offered to replace our toothbrushes, but said the only other thing she could do was move us to a room in the Mansion section where there were "less trees". DH declined.

And here he is!! :scared1::rotfl:

Up Next: DHS all day!! I'm so excited to tell you all about this great day!!! :cool1:

I'm really enjoying your trip report! I'm laughing about the frog because when we were at POR in August something fell out of a tree and landed on my head. It was the exact same kind of frog! I'm screaming like a maniac and my boys are trying to catch the darn thing while my not so dh was almost rolling on the ground laughing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a "frog incident".

Great update, and I love the pictures of Epcot and IllumiNations! Especially the one of you and your DH sitting on the curb - such a cute couple! :lovestruc And that frog picture is so perfect it looks fake! He looks like those rubbery/gooey toys that would stick to everything (my DS used to love them), except for those eyes. :scared1: I have a frog story of my own that's too embarrassing to tell, but let's just say that I have encountered one in a very odd place.

Can't beat free food! And on top of that we already had free dining!! :cool1: Just wanted to save a TS credit if at all possible. And it was!! Yes, you should definitely go to BRG! :thumbsup2

YAY another BW lover! :goodvibes

I would love to sit outside at BRG sometime. It just hasn't worked out for us yet. Too cold in January. Too windy in November. Maybe next time! :wizard:

That sounds like great room location you had at BWV. Could you hear a lot of noise from BRG or the Boardwalk at night?

OMG I am laughing so hard right now!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: DS10 is too!!

That sounds like something that would happen to me! It's not that I don't like frogs, I live with all boys and have seen my fair share of them. You just don't expect one to be in your room, or to fall on your head! :lmao:

My boys were upset that we couldn't keep the dang frog. :upsidedow

It was so awkward sitting there on the curb -- in a skirt!! When we left for dinner I wasn't really planning on sitting on the ground waiting for fireworks or I would have dressed differently!

I know, everytime I look at that picture I think that frog doesn't even look real. But believe me, he was!! He could jump high and stick to anything.

(PS -- I'd love to hear your frog story! :rotfl:)

Shelly - GREAT frog story!!! LMBO! Excellent pics of Illuminations. Love that show at EPCOT! - Sea

:love::cloud9::love::cloud9::love::cloud9:

Great oh so wonderful fantabulous magnificent perfect update!:goodvibes

Love all the pics of Illuminations! I know exactly where you sat! :goodvibes I've never experienced it over there- we are always way deep in the back in the countries, so it was neat to see it from that perspective.

The frog does look fake-- at least he didn't jump on you.

Looking forward to DHS!

Glad you liked the update. I had a feeling you would!

I would like to see IllumiNations from back in the countries next time. You know, on my imaginary dream vacation when I can then just walk back to my room at the BC, YC or BWI! :cloud9:

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I've been reading along too! I actually read your review of CBR back in the summer because I've been thinking about taking my 8 yo brother there, and really enjoyed your review! So when I saw you did a review of POR and a trip report I knew I wanted to read those too! :goodvibes
