9/8 Wonder - just got a letter from DCL they changed our dining times to the trial

We have late seating. I am not sure if I am happy about the time change. We live on the West Coast and we are planning on keeping East Coast time when we go to WDW before the cruise but during the cruise I wanted to try and get back to West Coast time. But in actuality it probably won't work out that way. So, 7:45 pm seating will probably work out better. Glad we have late seating. Our cruise is on the Wonder for 3 days!

hey Alipom and Disneychic,
My head is so jam packed with info that I think I might explode. I am so worried about "missing out" on something....Now I feel like I have to get off at Freeport and look around!!

I just received my disney club package, in it is an small organizer for coupons, etc. I think I will type my notes up for each segment of my vacation and utilize their organizer. It doesn't seem possible to me to manage to fit everything into the cruise; so don't stress yourself trying and worrying about what you are missing out on. There will be choices to make and you may forego something to do another, or to simply relax -- and there's nothing wrong with relaxing on vacation. I may not even look at my notes on the cruise, but they will be there if i decide to use them. Freeport- I don't feel that I need to go into that port. The ship will be less crowded and I would rather take advantage of that! Take a breath, relax, what you miss this cruise....well, you'll just have to take a second cruise...ahh...there's nothing wrong with that!

does anyone know how long this trial lasts, or what cruise dates it affects? Hoping it will go back to 8 pm for my October cruise...

Hi all,

Most of these postings about Trial dining times seem to be referencing the Wonder. Are they doing the same thing on the Magic for the Caribbean cruises? It would seem then that an early dining time would make it terribly tight to get back from many of the excursions.

Anyone know?

I keep watching the boards morning and night. The first I see that this will be a permanent change I'm on the phone and changing my dining to late!

Your 100% correct about the excursions and not getting back in time for dinner! There are quite a few of them that would get you back too late. Not to mention just enjoying the day in general. I guess you can't please everyone, it's a great change for the late dining people, but a very bad one for the early dining people!

Just got back from the Magic with early dining times. Shows were at 6 for late seating and 8 for early seating. We did not like being dressed at 5:45 for dinner; we skipped a few shows because of the early time. I am thinking of writing to DCL to complain. We also missed out on many games at 8:15, so we would consider early dinner on our next cruise, even though our kids are older, just to get in better show times and be able to participate in some games.

Hi All

My family and I were on the 7/13 Eastern. We did receive a letter beforehand indicating the new 5:30 and 6:45 times. We had the early seating. The shows were at 6:00 and 8:00 and if memory serves me correctly they also moved the times of the childrens' activities up a little bit. I wished they had left them because twice my husband or I left during dessert to bring the kids up to the "club". Of course, we came back down for dessert.

For those of us cruising in 2003 we will be eagerly watching these boards for info from those of you cruising after the "trial" is supposedly over. We've had early seating on our last two cruises and it worked well - but they were 3 & 4 day respectively.

This next cruise not only will the kids both be teens but the excursions run later. We'd debated anyway but had opted for the early with the idea that we had more options in the evening after dinner. If it becomes permanent at 5:30 we will be requesting a dinner seating change - have seen most of the stage shows anyway!
