Just as I posted the above message Helen walked into my study with a bowl of cherries for my supper :) and told me to tell you that we are off to London for the half-term holiday in February (British Museum / Science Museum / Tower of London / Harrods (Helen's choice) etc).

Jon would love it if I remembered to buy him cherries! :) That is one of his favorite fruits.

Have a great time in London!

I'm with Helen -- I'ld want to go to Harrod's , also! LOL! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Chilly !!!!! you say. :rotfl: Today it was 5oC (that's 41oF), there were gales last night that were so strong they blew over everyones wheelie bin outside their houses. You reckon Southern California is chilly !!!!!!

When I get in my car each morning I have to fight my way past three Polar bears who are sheltering from the cold. :lmao:

It's so cold I nearly bought a vest ;) but it will probably get colder again very soon.

David

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
This weekend we are supposed to get an ice storm -- YUCK!!!! But, it's in the 60's this week. :lmao:

We usually only have a handful of really cold days. I got rid of our heavy coats a couple of years ago since for 2 winters in a row we never used them!

I like *moderate* temps -- in the 80's to low 90's. :)

I sure hope it's a Panama Canal one. I'd love to do the REPO this time!!!

Wan

Welcome back!!
It would be so fun if we all ended up on the Eastern Repo! LOL!

How are you enjoying your new house?

I would prefer The Fall Repo. :confused3 I am so excited but I am going one way or the other.

Will talk tomorrow.:thumbsup2 :woohoo: :grouphug:

Disboard lime green here we come!!!!!!!!!!

You would HAVE to go on the Eastern repo because we would INSIST!

Stephanie, Which one is the eastern?

John

Hi everyone!
Happy (belated) New Year! :grouphug:

Sorry I haven't been around much, but I've been doing some soul searching. I've decided to go back into the workforce--full-time. So...I'm job hunting now. I still have the real estate investments, but it's not sustaining us the way it should...so back to work I go! I'm hoping to find something challenging and rewarding.

I hope you have luck finding something you would enjoy.:thumbsup2 I just like my simple jobs.

Have you ever tried joining or going to a focus group? I was called on Sunday to ask to participate in a discussion on toilet paper. I qualified(not sure how) and it pays $100.00 for two hours work. I go yesterday at 3 pm. and there were 14 woman. The focus group called 10 names and four of us were considered just in case no one showed up. They paid me the $100.00 and I left at 3:01pm.. A $100 a minute of work is really good pay. I found this place over the internet 3 years ago. I have done several talks and the pay is always at least $50 and hour. You can't always count on it but its extra cruise money funds.:rotfl2:

Happy New Year John and Cheryl

Great photos - I could never make such great items - I have to get Helen to make me a sandwich properly :lmao:

I know it's early but what time do you think you will be arriving on the 3rd of September, it's just that we leave on that date so we'd love to see you before we fly !!

David & Helen

Thanks for the compliments. I try to have fun making stuff. I hope we will be able to see each other for a few hours on the 3rd. Which way are you talking for the repo?? I am confused too. I would like to go from California to Florida but anyone could convice be to go the other way too.:woohoo:

Well it looks like our trip to WDW this year is going to be in May. Matt got a job at Pilot Corprate office

Jill, congrats to Matt from us. I wish you would be there is September but maybe the repo cruise??? Good luck with going back to school. :flower3:

I was waiting to get time to really comment on her stuff!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!

I LOVED everything!!!! I tell you we need to live closer so that Cheryl and I can PLAY!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
My older dd, Katherine, loves to craft. When she was around 19 (and going to school) she would come over on Monday nights and her & I would work on stuff (usually scrapbooks) in the dining room so that we could vist with each other and still talk to the rest of the family.

We are trying to work it so that we are in WDW the first week of Sept -- August 30 through Sept 7th or so.

Samantha & I are trying to make a trip to Illinois. I had Jon send me a list of his out of town dates for the year last week so, that I could plan our year...... Samantha & I were thinking of doing Chicago in March... Well, he has 2 out of the country trips for March! And lots of trips for this year. UGH!! I have been so spoiled the last 6 or 7yrs...... he has only been out of town about 2 or 3 times a year --- Feb/Mexico, March/Hong Kong and then throw in a trip to one or two of the stores during the rest of the year (maybe).

As soon as I can nail down some dates i'll let y'all know!!! :)

It would be great to see you both this spring. I never get rid of my John.:rotfl2: Just kidding if you are reading this dear. I hope we can get a little reunion in September of 2007.

That's interesting, Stephanie! I might consider a Mexican cruise in '08. I don't think it will be a repo, since it said "cruise to Mexico...weeklong". Cheryl...how does that sound to you?

The 14 day sounds better. I was so sorry I missed the Canal last time. Just think of all the trouble we could get into on the 14 day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the news about the possibility of the DCL sailing on the West Coast.
We have decided that we want to do the eastern repo cruise which will take 14 dys at the end of the time on the West Coast.
Helen has practically planned the twenty five days she has decided we will be in the USA already - which will include our first visit to Disneyland and our first sight of the Pacific Ocean :cool1:
What will everyone else be doing - repo west, repo east or one of he 7 day cruises?
David

Tell Helen we all have to go in the fall. I too, like Stephanie, freeze in California. I am thinking in September it will still be warm. May could be cold.:)

Cheryl and John

Thanks for the letter - you posted it on the Tuesday and it got here on Saturday - that's faster than second class post from twenty miles away !!!!

David

We really mailed it on Wednesday because post offices were closed because of President Ford's Death. So three days is fast!!!!!!!!!!!! Our mail takes longer to get to Michigan than it did UK. I hope you could read my hand writing.:rotfl2:

I'm so excited that everyone is still here keeping in touch even though our cruise was FOUR months ago! (It seems like it's been much longer than that).
I haven't been on the boards much these days, but just decided to check in on a whim hoping there'd be some updates regarding the 2008 itineraries. Well whadayaknow!?

I sure hope it's a Panama Canal one. I'd love to do the REPO this time!!!

Wan

I was thinking of you the other day when looking at pictures. YOU HAVE TO GO with all of us. Who else could we get to make our own special web site???:rotfl: :rotfl2:

I better shut-up. I am going to call Disney tonight and see what we have to do to change our dummy reservations for December 0f 2007. We were wishing for a Panama Canal in 2008 when we booked the Dummy res. At least we have a $500.00 down payment on the Canal cruise already.

:grouphug: :goodvibes :cloud9:
Cheryl

I like *moderate* temps -- in the 80's to low 90's. :)

In the UK the moderate :beach: temperatures you describe would be called a heatwave !! The government would be talking of a hosepipe ban before it get's to the 90's.

David

I'll answer for you - the Eastern is the repositioning of the ship from the West Coast back to Florida. :thumbsup2

David

YEAH!!!!!!!! The Eastern is what we want.

I just called Disney to find out just in case it happens on the 31st what I have to do to switch my old reservations to my new PANAMAL CANAL . My heart is set to go. Did you book a dummy cruise before you left the ship David?? DCL said I would get a 10% discount that will transfer to my new reservation.:woohoo: Looks like we will meet again in California!!!!!!!!!
Thanks David and have a nice time on your little trip.

If you recall, you and John, Steph and her family, me and mine are all booked on the 01-Dec-07 seven day for dummy purposes - I'm sure there may be others from the 10 Day Southern who did the same :rolleyes1

David

I really did not remember who of us booked dummy cruises!!!

I guess we are all very smart now!!!!

I know I am defintely more excited than the other two cruises put together.
(and I was really excited about the first two).

This will be so much fun to have friends we like onboard!!!!!! It will make it just more special.:woohoo:

I feel like I should start making magnets now!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

Tell Helen she has to come on the board and talk now!!!!!!:grouphug:

Hi everyone, this is Helen here on my first post. David set up this for me a while ago but I've now been prompted to get on the boards so I thought I'd better do something !!

Since we heard about the special cruise in 2008 our heads have been in a right spin, exact dates, where will we go, how much will it cost, when can we book, we just cant wait! We have had some flight prices which were very reasonable.

Oh my gosh is that really you Helen???? Welcome aboard.:thumbsup2 My head is spinning too. We were trying to figure airfares. We are having trouble getting good prices on one way tickets. I have never booked a one way anywhere. We need to find out what is the Disney hotel to do transfers to the port in LA etc. The first priority is going to get a reservation on DCL. Looks like the word is out and we will not be alone booking them. We can not book out airfares here til a year out.:sad2:

Could you read my letter? I hope so.

When are you going to London????

Is Alex sending out notices to all the girls from the last cruise yet???

Cheryl

Welcome to the board, Helen!!!!

Cheryl

Jon LOVES the idea of being onboard for 14 days! I don't think he'll know this far out what is going on at work though...... BUT, the kids and I can go :rotfl:
It would just be the 3 youngest kids this time --- unless the older kids want to pay their own way this time! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I just saw a cruise meet for November 2008. What are we waiting for???? Lets start our new thread:woohoo: PLEASE STEPHANIE:flower3:

Welcome back!!
It would be so fun if we all ended up on the Eastern Repo! LOL!

How are you enjoying your new house?

Yes, I cannot wait until the official announcement!

The house is great, Todd and I love it. We've got a lot of things put away, but the garage is a different story. I think we're going to wait for spring to tackle that.

I was thinking of you the other day when looking at pictures. YOU HAVE TO GO with all of us. Who else could we get to make our own special web site???:rotfl: :rotfl2:
