9/7/06 10 night Wonder Southern Caribbean "Cruising in WONDERland!"

Hi everyone!
Happy (belated) New Year!

Sorry I haven't been around much, but I've been doing some soul searching. I've decided to go back into the workforce--full-time. So...I'm job hunting now. I still have the real estate investments, but it's not sustaining us the way it should...so back to work I go! I'm hoping to find something challenging and rewarding.

Stephanine, that's great you guys got a Wii. They are still out of stock in our area, but we plan to get one in the coming months. I can't wait.. ! I think I want one more than the kids . I've heard the same thing about some of the games not living up to the hype. I can't wait until the Harry Potter game comes out this summer. That will be fun to play on the Wii.

The holidays were relaxings...spent most of the time off enjoying family. I hope to catch up with some of my DisFriends in '07.

These are pictures of my trees I made out of 6 coat hangers, 1 strand of garland, and 1 strand of 50 lights. This gave my cruise fund of 2008 a big boost. I have been hunting for cheap garland for next year. I plan on entering a craft show to add even more to 2008 cruise fund.

Crystal I hope things are going well for you and you find something you will like to do. I loved working the Disney Store but no money to be made. Hope you are considering cruise in 2008!!!

We will be at WDW Sept 3 to the 6th We'll be in Florida til the 10th but we will be looking for property!!! My tickets are booked!!!!! Anyone else plan on being there?????

I hope we have a little reunion next september.

What difficult decisions! I know it is very difficult to have a *career* and have lots of familytime. We will keep you in our prayers! Hopefully you'll find the *just for you* work! Real Estate is such an iffy thing --- ask me sometime how I know!

Jon's brother happened to hear when TRU was getting in a handful of them and he called Jon and they RAN up there at just the right time. It does look like lots of fun -- I'm hoping Claire will let me play soon. Katherine asked me to play bowling with her the other day and Claire had a fit! *Mom doesn't play video games!*. SHe's right. I am not into vidoe or computer games BUT, the wii is sooo interactive! LOL! Katherine told her *You're right but, mom likes to bowl.*

I'm glad you had a nice Holiday season! We are going down to Taylor (NE of Austin) today to have another *Christmas*. My sister and her family live there - we own a house down there, also. My parents, brothers and my brother's girlfriend are all going down.

Well it looks like our trip to WDW this year is going to be in May. Matt got a job at Pilot Corprate office and loves and I am going back to school. I only work 3 days a week now!!! But since I will get out of school in early May. We are going From May 5-13. I am very excited!!! I wanted to go in Sept but it will hopefully be my last semester!!!!

I was waiting to get time to really comment on her stuff!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!

I LOVED everything!!!! I tell you we need to live closer so that Cheryl and I can PLAY!!!!!
My older dd, Katherine, loves to craft. When she was around 19 (and going to school) she would come over on Monday nights and her & I would work on stuff (usually scrapbooks) in the dining room so that we could vist with each other and still talk to the rest of the family.

We are trying to work it so that we are in WDW the first week of Sept -- August 30 through Sept 7th or so.

Samantha & I are trying to make a trip to Illinois. I had Jon send me a list of his out of town dates for the year last week so, that I could plan our year...... Samantha & I were thinking of doing Chicago in March... Well, he has 2 out of the country trips for March! And lots of trips for this year. UGH!! I have been so spoiled the last 6 or 7yrs...... he has only been out of town about 2 or 3 times a year --- Feb/Mexico, March/Hong Kong and then throw in a trip to one or two of the stores during the rest of the year (maybe).

As soon as I can nail down some dates i'll let y'all know!!!

If this is true ---

The Port of Los Angeles has released information that the Disney Cruise Line will be back at the Port as early as May 1, 2008 through September 15, 2008. The itenaries have not been released from Disney. However, we should have additional information at the end of January

That's interesting, Stephanie! I might consider a Mexican cruise in '08. I don't think it will be a repo, since it said "cruise to Mexico...weeklong". Cheryl...how does that sound to you?

I'm not sure why they are so small. I took others on my phone that are larger.


As for video games...I'm the latest Guitar Hero in our house! I love that game! Am I going through a second childhood !

I'm willing to fly out to CA and do one of hte regular ones, also. I know in 2005 when thye did cruises in CA they did a 14 day repo through the Panama Canal to get the ship there and to get it *home*. Several of our 10nt cruisers booked the 10nt on the 14nt repo back to FL!

Thanks for the news about the possibility of the DCL sailing on the West Coast.

I had today off work - no reason - just took a day off!! - and have spent most of the day reading the threads and posts about the DCL in 2008.

We have decided that we want to do the eastern repo cruise which will take 14 dys at the end of the time on the West Coast. The only downside is that we would have to fly from London to LA (over 12 hours ) - Premium on Virgin Atlantic it will have to be then!!

Helen has practically planned the twenty five days she has decided we will be in the USA already - which will include our first visit to Disneyland and our first sight of the Pacific Ocean

If the story is true and it probably will be, I believe it will be the Wonder ("our" ship) that will go this time.

What will everyone else be doing - repo west, repo east or one of he 7 day cruises?

Just as I posted the above message Helen walked into my study with a bowl of cherries for my supper and told me to tell you that we are off to London for the half-term holiday in February (British Museum / Science Museum / Tower of London / Harrods (Helen's choice) etc).

If you would like a postcard from London please send me a PM in the next week or so with your address and we'll send you one. Steph - Sam will have a card from Alex, John & Cheryl - we have your address already.

I'm really hoping it will be the Wonder!!!!! I am thinking that we will do the Eastern repo.
The Western repo may be during recital times for the kids. Depending on how our summer goes we may be persuaded into going on one of the 7 nt cruises. <gg> Or at least going to Disneyland beforehand. At least that time of year shouldn't be too chilly -- Southern CA feels a little chilly to me sometimes. I'm used temps of 100 in the summer.

Chilly !!!!! you say. Today it was 5oC (that's 41oF), there were gales last night that were so strong they blew over everyones wheelie bin outside their houses. You reckon Southern California is chilly !!!!!!

When I get in my car each morning I have to fight my way past three Polar bears who are sheltering from the cold.

It's so cold I nearly bought a vest but it will probably get colder again very soon.

I'm so excited that everyone is still here keeping in touch even though our cruise was FOUR months ago! (It seems like it's been much longer than that).
I haven't been on the boards much these days, but just decided to check in on a whim hoping there'd be some updates regarding the 2008 itineraries. Well whadayaknow!?

I sure hope it's a Panama Canal one. I'd love to do the REPO this time!!!
