Has anyone ordered baskets from http://www.theperfectgift.cc/Cruises.htm ?
We are thinking of ordering 2 for the girls, just curious if anyone else has before or is planning to now :confused3

It is Mike's b'day on the 14th and we'll likely have the cabin decorated for him as well... but I really don't want to pack beach toys, and the baskets look festive ;)

Hey! I'm ordering five. There has been nothing but good stuff written on these boards about Shirley, and we've got a young'uns birthday and I don't want to pack stuff for that, either. ;) At first I wondered about it, but the longer I've been on these boards, the more I think Shirley truly deserves all the good stuff people say about her. Plus, the photos seem to speak for themselves. Of course, she's making them all custom orders, which she does all the time. Go for it! :thumbsup2

As many of you know, my DSIL just got home from Iraq almost 4 weeks ago. Well, last Thursday night, my DD tells us the news that she is PREGNANTWell, I can't tell you how estatic this has made us

Sandy, I am so Happy for you. It is a turning point in life when you become a GRANDMOTHER!!!!!!!!

When I worked for the Disney Store, we got in some irresistible bargains of infant wear. I started a girl drawer of Disney clothes (tubs full) and then a boy drawer (tubs full)of Disney clothes. :goodvibes After years of storing, my DD finally made me a grandma.  I finally am empting the girl clothes from my house and sometime in September(maybe while I am crusing) my same DD is having a baby boy. Now my husband says we can finally get rid of the boy clothes.!!! :yay: :yay: I wanted my grandaughter to call me grammie but my DGD calls me mema!!!! :rotfl2: I would not have it any other way. :cloud9:

I was told by many people "The only reason to have children is to have grandchildren." :teeth: :teeth:

I ordered a flower arrangement from her on our first cruise and it was absolutely perfect! She just chats with you for a while and comes up with these fabulous ideas. On our 2nd cruise I ordered baskets for all my kids. We talked about their likes and dislikes, I asked for some specific things and the results were better than I imagined. All my kids are adults now but when they saw their baskets, they instantly reverted to 5 years old! Shirley is AWESOME!!!! :cheer2:

Just need to get busy around here and thinking is about all that's happening. :lmao: :lmao: ONe of these days soon I'll be in Port Canaveral and what's done is done and I'm gonna party!!!!! :cool1:

Sandy, are these baskets a lot nicer than Disney ordered baskets???

Okay, here is the situation. The friend that is traveling with me has an adopted 3 year old son. He is a special needs child, and is not yet fully potty trained.

I know he cannot attend the regular child programming for his age b/c he is not potty trained. Is he able to attend Flounders or is he stuck in limbo land out there?

I really wanted to go to Palo, and wanted Janelle to come with me, but not having a place for DJ to go would have to change our plans. It would be really nice to just have a couple of afternoon/evenings for DJ to play with others while Janelle and I could do some big kid things. :)

Does anyone have any advice or know of how this could work out?

TIA,
Karen

My final question for the night:

What is with the bottled water? I have read that the water on the ship is supposed to be as clean/cleaner than my city water here in Columbus, Ohio, but many of you are talking about shipping/bringing bottled water with you or paying to have it delivered to your stateroom.

Is this something we should be considering, too, especially with a 3 year old?

Thanks,
Karen

My advice would be for her to call disney and talk with them. It depends on how special needs he is, if they will take him. While he fits in the age range for Flounders. I'm not sure if they will be staffed to take care of him.

While the water that is serived is drinkable with out a doubt. The water that comes into your cabin is well iffy at best. I wouldn't drink it. It's ok to brush your teeth and to take a bath, but I wouldn't fill a water bottle with it. I'm not sure what is up with the water, but I had to come back and have my hair specially treated. I've never had my hair do that on other cruises. It was like sandpaper. So I'm taking the treatment with me this time.

Wow, not even the west coast people visit this thread at night. It seems everyone on this cruise is early to bed and early to rise....I thought we were going to dance the nights away. OR--- Are you all just sleeping now so that you never have to go to sleep from Sept 7 - 17?

DH and I watched POC tonight to start getting in the Pirate mood! Yo ho yo ho, a pirate's life for me!

(And I also don't like seeing us slip off of the front page!)

Have a good night everyone...

I'm not sure how many people or if anything has been decided! There were around 12 people on the last list I saw, so I'm planning on bringing 14 or so Me tags and stuff to trade! I'm also going to bring along some of the flag book kits if anyone wants to do the class & make those (only charge is the $7 for the kits).

Just saw the lastest advisory and they have Ernesto moving much further east and intensifying. It will cross the Florida peninsula and head to NE Florida as it exits into the Atlantic. That it means it will cross right over our house as a Category One early next Friday. But, it's still a long way out and the intensity and direction may change although I don't want to wish it on anyone else.

Your friend can reserve space in Flounders for her son. Also, while he can't stay at the Clubs, he can play in them. You or your friend will have to stay and watch...but the clubs can still be fun to blow off a little energy, as needed! :) ( My DS was just 3 and not fully potty trained the last time we sailed. We didn't use Flounders, but we were told it was available for us. We took him into the club for about 30 minutes each day. He enjoyed using the computers, playing blocks, dancing and climbing on the pirate ship.) pirate:

I just read a few pages...CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, SANDY! :sunny: A new baby is so exciting...so WONDERful! You sound just like my mom...she "shopped 'til she dropped" with each grandchild...and she's holding out hope for more! I'm sure the infant merchandise on the ship will be sold out!
