I had heard that initially Southwest would not allow liquids in checked luggage. You might have to check with your airline. Some are more strict than others. Alex

I checked the southwest site and the TSA site, and yes you can check various liquids. The TSA site has a very helpful list with what you can and can't carry-on or check.

Remember you can't Be "Gellin' like magellan" due to a restriction on gel inserts. You can however have shoes with gel insoles.

You can carry almost anything onboard the ship. When we went on the PC cruise and the 1st West coast cruise (21 days on the Magic) we packed 21 bottles of wine in two carryon suitcases. The only tough part was lifting them onto the Xray machine at the port and dragging them around till the cabin was ready. Any fluid would have to be bought in FL as the airlines won't let the fluids in carry ons or checked bags. Alex

Alex, Did you allow one bottle a day for 21 days of your cruise. :thumbsup2 That was smart planning. :teeth: I can not imagine lifting 10 or 11 bottles of wine in each suitcase. :rolleyes1

I was just curious. Have you cruised on other ships? :confused3 I know I love DCL. My first cruise was on the Magic and my second will be on the Wonder. I just wish the Wonder would have the large movie screen like the Magic got when it dry-docked last year. I loved watching movies uder the stars. :cloud9:

VALERIE,
I think you succeeded in being cute. :bitelip: I don't, however, think anyone in Charles Dickens era wore a Mickey top hat

Now I don't want to get into an argument over this, but I have it on good authority (MINE) that Jacob Marley actually had suffered a genetic defect and his ears grew to astronomical proportions, and perfectly rounded noless. Having died before " A Christmas Carol" was first introduced, I'm afraid that I have no pictures of poor Jacob to show to support my claim, but simply based on the complete and total seriousness of all my other posts, there is no doubt in my mind that you will trust my veracity. :rotfl2:

Who, in their right mind, could possibly ever doubt you? ;)

I finally picked out my clothes to be packed. They are sitting on our guest bed waiting to be put in the suitcase. I didn't want to put it all away yet because then I wouldn't have any clothes to wear until the trip!

We are also in WDW next week and like you we have tons of things left to do.
I am sure you will pull it all together in no time. (At least that is what I keep telling myself.) :)

We are getting ready for our 2 little one's first football game. They are so excited.

Went to Walmart today and got a few last minute items. Had to get a golf travel bag for my son as he and DH are golfing twice while we are in WDW.
Shopping for the trip makes me even more excited.

Sandy (Sandysplayhouse) and Heidi (Smola09's mom),
DEEP BREATHS! In Out, In Out, In Out.
One thing at a time, now. You will be able to get everything you need done.
If it is not done, you don't need it. :teeth:
Now, Don't worry and just think how much fun you are about to be having.

Hello yall!

Finally got back from Atlanta. Oh I'm I tired! 4 days with my mother and grandmother was just about more than I could stand.

I came back with some great fishy gifts for adults and kids. I also did some last minute shopping. :cool1: Now I've just got to do pack and I'm ready to go! Oh I can't wait!!! :dance3:

OK...

I have to let you guys in on why I'm not ready for this cruise... I'm NOT ready and this is SO unlike me... I am normaly the prepared one...the one that is always in control of whatever situation and totally in charge... The QUEEN of CALM, the master of my domain, the planner, the over-seer of everything and all others... I'm the one that reminds everyone else to do things and get things and directs everyone where to be and who to see... but not now... I'm totally distracted.

As many of you know, my DSIL just got home from Iraq almost 4 weeks ago. Well, last Thursday night, my DD tells us the news that she is PREGNANT!!!!! party:

Well, I can't tell you how estatic this has made us... My DH AND I are :teleport: besides ourselves with joy... I can't thinking of anything else. I can't stop shopping and ordering stuff for the baby... the cruise is out the window and all my thoughts are 8 months away! I leave the house and return without the needed items I left to get... instead I have baby clothes or books or clothes for Brandy!
It's almost like the cruise is in the way of my shopping for the baby and I can't wait for it to be over so I can settle in and focus on the baby! Talk about a LONG wait... once I thought this cruise would NEVER get here, and now I find myself wishing it was over! I'm hoping that once we are on our trip that I'll be able to enjoy the moment instead of only looking forward to being back home... talk about wasting my money if not. Anyone that has not been a first time grandparent... let me tell you, you are in for a WILD first time... my emotions are all over the place too... tears, giddy, crazy feelings!... I think I need a valium! or at least a drink of the day! :drinking1 :rotfl:

Congrats to you all!!

:cheer2: I can tell you from my mothers stand point, it doesn't matter if it's the first or the latest. She NEVER gets over the excitement of a new grandbaby.

This is her motto and I will pass it on too you.

Grandkids are the rewards you get, for not killing your kids! :p

At my parent's cabin. My mother has this HUGE wall of pictures of the grandkids. Right in the middle of these pictures is a sign that has that on it. She says it's her motto.
