Quick Question...

I want to arrange transportation from the ship to the airport... I need to supply a time that I want to be picked up....
To those of you that have done this cruise before...
How long does it take to go thru customs once we disembark? If we get off at 9am... how long should it take us... am I safe to ask for the car to be there by an hour later? Any help will be much appreciated.

When we did the 4 night we were off the ship and on the boat by around 9. We got a porter. He told us to have our paperwork out and to stay with him. He got our papers from us. Pushed through the lines to the front, put our papers down and we flashed our passports as we went by. It didn't take long at all. But again that was only a 4 night. But I don't think it will take much longer, the ship can't have anymore on it than it did then. Just more luggage! :rolleyes1

Hi Karen :wave2: I love to scrapbook too. Do you do 2 peas?

Hey! I read 2peas! :)

I've been scrapbooking for about .....12yrs....... For many years I belonged to a scrapbooking group here in Arlington that was featured in one of the scrapbook magazines. :)
Several local scrapper friends have ended up working in the National scrapbooking industry and travel for them, etc....

Hi Karen! No, I've not heard of twopeas. I'll have to check it out! I have a really difficult time finding time to scrap these days with five kids and all, but I love to do it! I used to be a consultant for Close To My Heart and learned all about stamping that way!

Steph - that is really cool! I used to scrap monthly with a bunch of foster/adoptive parents. We would scrap the lifebooks of our children and help other parents with putting together lifebooks for their kids so that the kids would not miss out on their history b/c of going through the system.

Is there a scrap planned? Golly gee, more and more stuff to pack! lol I'm trying to figure out what goodies I can "dress up" and I'm sure I'll come up with something!!!

That's really cool Steph, can you mention any names. I know of someone who had work published and that's kind of fun. Do you post at 2peas ... if so send a link for me to check it out. I'm mostly just a beginner, I've been scrapping for 18 months.

At the very beginning of this thread there were people who were planning a crop, but I think they are no longer cruising with us. It would be fun just to get together and talk over people's ideas for their Disney cruise scrapbook.

Hello all!

I love to scrapbook! I haven't had much time to do it recently, since I'm planning for this big 10-day cruise...... :rotfl2:

I'd love to get together and discuss/share our scrapbooking tips and suggestions. I learn so much from others this way.

Sandy: What time is your flight going home? The ship will try and get those folks who have early flights first, and if you have a late flight, you may wish to stay onboard and relax until most of the crowd has left. Of course, if you have an early flight, I would suggest being in the first group off. My flight isn't until 5:00 PM, but we have DCL transfers.

Ok you scrappers! I just checked out thread on the main DCL forum and I'm thinking this is something I would enjoy getting into. Any ideas on where to start and what to do?

Your best bet would be to visit a local scrapbook store. Not Michaels or any other big discount store as they mostly just sell supplies. Your local store is usually filled with people who are enthusiastic about this hobby with lots of help on how to get started. Check out the website in my previous post, and look in the peanut gallery. As scrapbooking is mostly a personal choice there is no right or wrong way to do it. Look at other peoples scrapbook pages and decide what you like .... it's kind of like the ad for Nike you... just do it.

Hope that helps

Hey Celia, we could bore all of our table mates by talking scrapbooking at dinner :rotfl2:

Thanks, I'll check to see if we have a store like that. I know we use to, but not sure if it's still open. I'll take a look at the website and see what I can find out. I've got TONS of pictures from my travels and hate they are just sitting in boxes. I would love to have away to display them.

I am kinda like you...I started doing a scrapbook for my wedding in 2000...needless to say...it isn't done... :confused3

I have a ton of photos...and would really like to take the time to organize and scrapbook them....not sure there is enough time on the cruise... :rotfl:

If I had to stay on board ship until I finished a scrapbook, I would be a life time cruiser :rotfl: not that, that would be a bad thing. How about an annual pass for DCL :thumbsup2

That sounds really great, Karen! I have read articles about *life books*.

We didn't plan a scrap -- it was talked about.... I had thought of bringing my Picturemate with me and buying a DCL scrapbook & papers and start on my book on one of the last couple of sea days..... We'll see.... I don't know if I want to pack it or not....

I've never posted on 2peas. I don't think any of my layouts are online anymore....
It's been a while since I did any serious scrapping. :) It doesn't stop me from buying supplies! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

LOL I took over 400 pictures when I was in Fiji. I would love to get them out of the computer and into a book. But!! :rotfl2: The cost of printing that many pictures, the material to scrap them, and the time it would take to do them. :scared1:

Karen,
were you a foster parent or adoptive parent yourself? When I was married we were foster parents primarily of teenage girls for almost 10 years we usually had 3 with us as well as our own 4 ( 2 when we started as foster parents) of which 3 of the 4 we had adopted.
