Hi to everyone !!!
You may remember that a few days before we left the UK a neighbours house got struck by lightning. It affected many other houses including ours (it killed the tv and dvd in our bedroom as well as my laptop in my study). I couldn't do much before we left so when we got home I made a claim. The new TV and DVD player were here in 24 hours and my laptop got collected for an examination.
The outcome is, three days ago I finally got a new laptop !!!
When you do EVERYTHING online it's amazing how much you miss a computer. Alex has been
fairly tolerant of me using his PC and I been using my computer in work but it's not the same.
Anyway, the first thing I've done is book another holiday to WDW next year - two weeks in CBR (with free
DDP) 22-August-06 to 03-Sept-06; yes, we're missing it already!
The insurance claim for the theft on the last night of our holiday has also been sorted out - funny, I've missed my sunglasses more than my camera.
I haven't caught up with all the posts on the disboards yet so that's one of my tasks over the next few days.
We are also watching the
DCL website for news of any special cruises in 2008. I've been to the Med many times so the transatlantic does not appeal to me. Not many people know that before the Wonder crossed the Atlantic the first time it stopped off at Southampton (I've got a photo to prove it!!) and once or twice I've heard it mention about bringing the Wonder back - now wouldn't that be VERY convienient
In all seriousness though, I would prefer a Panama Canal crossing for the speciality cruise in 2008 - something I've always wanted to do. The only issue for us is that in May and June of 2008, Alex will be taking his GCSE exams so hopefully any cruise will be after those.
Helen has finished unpacking and the cases are up the attic. However, following our purchase of the "Wicked" CD in Virgin DTD, we are obsessed with the musical. It opened in London on 4-Set-06 so I've got tickets to see it a two weeks time and we'll stay the night in London. (This was actually a trade-off instead of visiting Helen's family in Wales

).
Alex is still keeping in touch with peolpe he met on the cruise (alright I admit it, girls - I despair of him). Once he's 16 he'll be off to the States for sure, even if he has to swim there.
Bethan had to go the local hospital last week to see an eye specialist as there were some concerns but everything is fortunately fine.
It's really good to see that everyone is still in touch on the boards - has anyone thought of a Christmas card exchange? If so, let me know!
Keep in touch everyone
David, Helen, Alex, and Bethan.
