:rotfl: You know that your db doesn't want to leave town for some strange reason! LOL! I tried to convince him! LOL!

Please keep all SNOW to the NORTH!! We don't want SNOW!

Wow, Cheryl!

Your neighbors to the south here in STL say, "keep that stuff up north." I can't believe it's snowing there already, but you guys alway get more than we do...so does Kansas City for that matter!

Carlin is hankering for a new bed and dresser, so we might be making an IKEA run. We don't have one in STL. I'll let you know if we decide to make a trip to Chi-town before the weather gets too bad. Perhaps we could meet for lunch. We might go to my cousin's in ATL next month for Thanksgiving. That would negate the need to visit Chicago, since they have IKEA too. I love going to Chicago, but I just hate the drive. Southwest is usually so cheap or we could take Amtrak, but that won't work for a furniture run!

Crystal if yall head to ATL and want to meet up. Let me know. I'd be up for a little road trip!

This is great!!

Hi Kirsty, It was nice to meet you and your family as well.

I finally have something to show. It is in video format so the resolution is not nearly as good as yours. To make it hi-res was TOO big for the web. Anyway, I hope you like it. :thumbsup2

Ok, did anyone else need a tissue afterward? :rolleyes1

It was great meeting you onboard.
Thanks for sharing it.

PS How did Martha go?

I sampled several different Video Editing packages. I ended up deciding on Ulead's VideoStudio 10.

The Martha thing was pretty unbelievable. Very weird to see your own MIL working with Martha on the set of the show. Here is a link to the show. If you click on "Craft: Place-mat Purse" it will show the segment that my MIL did. On the segment they show parts of the video I made. The actual video we submitted was about 5 minutes long with an additional 5 minute gag reel. My wife was quite disappointed that the show taped while we were on the cruise. She would have loved to go to the show. Her dad and sister went and sat on the front row. My MIL had her own green room and such. :rotfl2: What a hoot.

Anyway, here is the link.

WOW!!! I loved the video you shot for your MIL & how cool is that????? She got to be on TV with Martha Stewart!!!

Come on Steph!! Can't you see she is really wanting to go!!

LOL! :rotfl2: Yes, SHE does! And so do I -- but, if I'm only going to be in WDW for 2 or 3 days I don't want to spend it at DTD in the Lego store! LOL! And her db was serious about that store! ;)
I may check for availability next weekend -- AA has tickets really cheap this month. The savings would just about pay for the hotel! And we already have Park Hopper tickets...

And Claire still has lots of Disney clothes that she never got to wear on the cruise -- I had wayyy too many outfits made for her! LOL!

Thanks for the link Amy :) but I was visited by the Disk Fairy (better than a tag fairy) and she has granted me my wish of a new disk :wizard:
Thank you Disc Fairy :goodvibes

Oh, Good! I remember how excited I was last year to get our cd & cards!!! :teeth: I loved the magnet this time..... I would have loved it better if my car would accept a magnet! :rotfl: :rotfl: Luckily my door from the kitchen to the garage is metal so, I can have all my cruise magnets there. :teeth:
You can also go to the Castaway Club area on the disneycruise.com website and download stuff -- we have the Disney Cruise screensaver and background pic on my computer. :thumbsup2

Hi to everyone !!! :wave2: :wave2:

You may remember that a few days before we left the UK a neighbours house got struck by lightning. It affected many other houses including ours (it killed the tv and dvd in our bedroom as well as my laptop in my study). I couldn't do much before we left so when we got home I made a claim. The new TV and DVD player were here in 24 hours and my laptop got collected for an examination.

The outcome is, three days ago I finally got a new laptop !!! :yay: :surfweb:

When you do EVERYTHING online it's amazing how much you miss a computer. Alex has been fairly tolerant of me using his PC and I been using my computer in work but it's not the same.

Anyway, the first thing I've done is book another holiday to WDW next year - two weeks in CBR (with free DDP) 22-August-06 to 03-Sept-06; yes, we're missing it already!

The insurance claim for the theft on the last night of our holiday has also been sorted out - funny, I've missed my sunglasses more than my camera.

I haven't caught up with all the posts on the disboards yet so that's one of my tasks over the next few days.

We are also watching the DCL website for news of any special cruises in 2008. I've been to the Med many times so the transatlantic does not appeal to me. Not many people know that before the Wonder crossed the Atlantic the first time it stopped off at Southampton (I've got a photo to prove it!!) and once or twice I've heard it mention about bringing the Wonder back - now wouldn't that be VERY convienient :)

In all seriousness though, I would prefer a Panama Canal crossing for the speciality cruise in 2008 - something I've always wanted to do. The only issue for us is that in May and June of 2008, Alex will be taking his GCSE exams so hopefully any cruise will be after those.

Helen has finished unpacking and the cases are up the attic. However, following our purchase of the "Wicked" CD in Virgin DTD, we are obsessed with the musical. It opened in London on 4-Set-06 so I've got tickets to see it a two weeks time and we'll stay the night in London. (This was actually a trade-off instead of visiting Helen's family in Wales :cheer2: ).

Alex is still keeping in touch with peolpe he met on the cruise (alright I admit it, girls - I despair of him). Once he's 16 he'll be off to the States for sure, even if he has to swim there.

Bethan had to go the local hospital last week to see an eye specialist as there were some concerns but everything is fortunately fine.

It's really good to see that everyone is still in touch on the boards - has anyone thought of a Christmas card exchange? If so, let me know!

Keep in touch everyone

David, Helen, Alex, and Bethan.

David --
I am so glad that everything is being replaced! I am sure that Alex is glad to have his computer to himself again. ;)

Wicked -- Samantha went with a friend last November to see that show. She liked it so much she had me buy her the books --- she really dislikes reading so that was a biggie! -- and she read one on her trip to Germany last Christmas.

WDW at the end of Aug...first part of Sept...hhmmm.....I know Samantha is going to want to go then, also! LOL!

I'm glad all is well with Bethan.

How is Helen?

A Christmas card exchange sounds like fun!

Steph

Just in case nobody noticed, congratulations on your 1000th post!!!

Thanks for noticing! :teeth:

The kids (well, 4 of the 5 -- 23dd is in Virginia being a bridesmaid) and I had fun at Six Flags yesterday (and dinner from Sonic). If it's not raining later we are going again.... We are so used to not going during a weekend and we forget how crowded it can get!
We have to keep Claire distracted fromt he fact that her daddy is overseas for the next 10 days or so.....

I'm glad that you had a good time at Six Flags, I really enjoyed the banter between you and Samantha by way of the forum (WDW/ Six Flags Six Flags/WDW, db won't go, db will go with contingencies) Now I sat close enough to your family at the dinners to know that you and Samantha are capable of communicating by word of mouth, so I find it so funny to see the accepted tool of communication between teenage daughter and mother ( a rareity nomatter whether its daughter or son) is by way of the forum. I LOVE IT!!! :rotfl2:

And something that makes it even funnier.....when we are on the boards we are usually sitting side by side -- several years ago dh converted the breakfast room (it connects to the kitchen & family room) into a computer room (counters lining the walls with our computers - everyone has at least one computer to themselves). :)
She's a great girl! :thumbsup2 And now she is really happy since I bought concert tickets for her oldest db to take her this coming Friday night. :) And he is getting ready to take her to an empty parking lot and he is going to let her DRIVE! :scared1: This is turning into a really good week for her! LOL!

Just a bump up till I get to read the board. :thumbsup2 I will try to get caught up tomorrow. I have to sart a count down to WDW trip next fall. Sure hope DCL will have something special in 2008. :teeth: Hope everyone is doing great!!!!! :goodvibes

I'd love to see you Amy, but it will be over Thanksgiving weekend...sure you want to leave the family? I'm sure Clayton would love to see Sally again too. How far away are you from ATL?

David--Glad Bethan is Ok and your items were replaced. I know how it is to be without your computer. I went through that twice this summer (once because of the power outage!). I told Carlin when you guys would be at WDW next year...of course, now that's when he wants to go! BTW--He said tell Alex "hi"...as if they don't IM and email enough.
