From what I've read on this thread ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607&highlight=original )before people used to sell FEs you either had to buy the chinese ones from ebay,or make your own.
The chinese ones were the "original" FEs so to speak


This is the one I got from Ebay. I added Mickey ears to mine and changed the ribbon:

We had the Yellow one just like the first picture for our last cruise!!! That's so what I was talking about!

I think I have room-change-itis I looked at our stateroom's location on the map on the DCL site and now I am rethinking my selection (it's 2-3 doors down from the elevators ... or so as I can tell from the map).

Is there a fee for changing room or category on DCL? Dh says to leave it as it is, but I keep thinking there has to be a reason the rooms that are still available were not snatched up earlier lol. I may be over-thinking this.

It is not as bad as you think being so close to the elevators. We have stayed close before and at times they come in handy when you are in a hurry.

Thanks I didn't think about the being in a hurry aspect, I can see that being a help.

I wanted to ask, what sort of things does your son like on the cruise? Since our kids are the same age, I thought it might give some ideas for me to pass along to ds to see what he may want to do.

My nephew and niece will keep him company. They are a little younger but they get along well with all age groups!

Anyone have any FE gift ideas for the Tweens and Teens???? I'm having a hard time with that age group!

Tweens and teens love candy (go braces friendly just in case), playing cards, key rings, silly bandz (ok, probably more the tweens on that one), iTunes gift cards, and one or two dollars with a coupon attached that says "Get yourself a treat from room service and this is for the tip." I'm sure there are more ideas.

Ok...The Facebook group is set up.
I did it as a secret group (No public content. Members can see all content. Not displayed on members' profiles) instead of closed group (Limited public content. Members can see all content. Displayed on member's profiles) because it will not appear in search results. I don't know about you guys,but I'm paranoid when it comes to stuff like that,lol.
Membership is by invitation only, and only members can see the group information and content. I set it up as anyone in the group can post on wall and discussion board/add links/add pictures/add videos/etc...

Eating dinner as I browse the board - don't say I can't multi-task. I am so ready for this cruise, and the students haven't even been back two weeks. The students are great, really; it is the getting up at 5:30 and the extra long day I have this year. I am just exhausted. Looking forward to the Fb group and "seeing" everyone!

Hello from a total Dis and cruise newbie ... I found the site via Google, I was on another site and did a search on what in the world a fish extender was and stumbled on to DisBoards. My husband and I wanted to plan a get-away and booked the cruise just two weeks ago, so we're getting a late start at all of this. I am super-duper nervous, never have cruised before, it's a bit over-whelming, but at the same time exciting

Anyhoo, I was wondering if it is too late to join in with fellow-cruisers, I will admit I have not yet made it through the 79-80 pages in this thread, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

I am hoping that maybe I will be able to help ds (14) in finding someone to pal around with; as super cool as dh and I think we are (LOL), I have a feeling that ds doesn't always share that sentiment. He is shy and reserved, so I don't think he would forge out on his own in the teen area to meet other kids his age on his own (he doesn't do it at home, so I don't suppose he'd suddenly do so on a cruise with thousands of strangers ) Are there other families with only children that age as well that we may be able to meet?

I wish we would have booked sooner, generally we're not last minute travelers, there's a lot to learn and plan for, I hope there is time to get a decent grasp on how it all works and what to expect.

That would be great I noticed you are from Pa - we are too. We live in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area. Are you driving or flying to Florida? My husband wants to fly, I want to give driving a whirl (the furthest we've ever driven from Pa is to Savannah, Georgia ... I think we can do it, dh is not as enthusiastic lol).

That is so funny...I am originally from W-B! Graduated from Hanover in 89. I am a HR manager for the C-store with the amazing ice cream and ice tea (you know who we are).

We are flying. We the 59$ flights out of Phila and the amazing car rental I got on hotwire, it would actually cost us more to drive. It is 6 hours past Savannah. We drive almost every year to Hilton Head, SC and we HATE it........it is just so expensive to fly down there.

What can I say...good genes and all

I struggled with the photo posting.....tried to add from my albums, then they posted on my and hubby's FB page (which makes my hubby unhappy due to his long hair 20 years ago and it makes me happy since I was 60 pounds thinner )

Anyway, I need to get one up of my daughter....kept getting an error???
