Speaking of jobs, I heard from my potential today. They said they "decided to pass on moving forward" whatever that means. But I do not say this with disappointment at all. I am actually happy they passed....WHAT?!!?! I can not explain it except I am happy that I am right where God wants me to be. I was kinda worried that with starting the new job, it was going to give me a lot of problems. That sounds bad. Let me explain. I have been saving up all my vacation this year for November. Last year, we had this really big order for Philips to make these gift card holders that were shaped like stockings. I embroidered little snowflakes on them and Philips and the year and they put $50 gift certificates to Wal mart in them. 250 of them. We were SLAMMED! That machine ran for 12 hours straight for 2 solid weeks. Plus I had to get my other Christmas stuff out in between. Anyway, I was holding onto my vacation for something like that to happen. If I had taken this job, I wouldnt have been able to do that. I couldnt take 3 weeks vacation within the first 3 months of being there. Plus, I had this "Sorry, I am on vacation" graphic that I had printed out from Jordak except mine said "Sorry, I am on a Disney Cruise!" Well, in that set up, I couldn't have hung that up. I know these are such stupid things to be happy to have but turn down a 20% raise, but I am thrilled!!

Plus! We have a business that is interested in us embroidering their company's name on their shirts. They are going to try us out with 150...you know.. a trial. WOW!! That is like $1,000 of revenue for us! And that is the beginning? craziness!! so I am not upset! yay!

Very strange feelings indeed

MAN you are early today! I just woke up and I am really early. I usually dont roll out of bed for another 30 minutes! How did cheerleading weekend go?

Yep - and that was late for me on a work day. I try to be out of the house by 6:30. Devotions at 7:15 and students in at 7:45, so I gotta get there!

Well all, I just bought the materials for me to make my FE. And with a 3 yards of material and ribbon laying in the middle of my floor, those Chinese FE are looking better and better by the second...

Guess I need to print out the directions on how to make the FE bag.... I have come to the conclusion me just looking at it on my floor it will not make its self:confused3

Princessandthemommy = P .Leilani

Wouldn't it be great if they made themselves that way!!!???!!!???

One more day down. I am really hoping I can find time this weekend to get the FEs finished. I want them done ahead of time, so I can take the rest of the time to remember what it is I will inevitably leave at home when we head to Florida!

Jen, I am so glad to hear of your happiness in following what the Lord has for you! I understand completely why you are saying it seems weird to be so happy, but I understand the happy too. As to what the company said, I can only think that means they decided not to hire anyone at this point. I would think that when they decide to "move forward" again, they may very well include you in their thought process. For now though, you go!!! Your attitude about this is a testimony to everyone - thank you! :dance3:

Now, PM me the name of the company or website that you have please.

My husband just pointed out to me that on page 76, post 1139, I quoted Kamy's post but did not respond to it. Okay - my brain was on absolute overload all last week - stress to the max (Kam, you know why), but I didn't mean to not respond to it! So - Take Two:

Hello from a total Dis and cruise newbie ... I found the site via Google, I was on another site and did a search on what in the world a fish extender was and stumbled on to DisBoards. My husband and I wanted to plan a get-away and booked the cruise just two weeks ago, so we're getting a late start at all of this. I am super-duper nervous, never have cruised before, it's a bit over-whelming, but at the same time exciting :)

Anyhoo, I was wondering if it is too late to join in with fellow-cruisers, I will admit I have not yet made it through the 79-80 pages in this thread, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

I am hoping that maybe I will be able to help ds (14) in finding someone to pal around with; as super cool as dh and I think we are (LOL), I have a feeling that ds doesn't always share that sentiment. He is shy and reserved, so I don't think he would forge out on his own in the teen area to meet other kids his age on his own (he doesn't do it at home, so I don't suppose he'd suddenly do so on a cruise with thousands of strangers  ) Are there other families with only children that age as well that we may be able to meet?

I wish we would have booked sooner, generally we're not last minute travelers, there's a lot to learn and plan for, I hope there is time to get a decent grasp on how it all works and what to expect.

Hi! And welcome!!!

We have a not-so-shy 13 yr old daughter and an outgoing 10yr old boy. Our daughter is planning some time in aloft, and hanging out with the out and about group. I'm sure she'd love to meet him and hang out.

We are planning on a meet the first day, I'll let Jen fill you in on the details since she's the ringleader!

:welcome: WELCOME! :welcome: Glad you could join us! I am glad you found us via Google! How cool is that? Yes, I am a newbie but I feel like I have been cruising for years....minus the actual memory of cruising! I am a bit of a Obsessive person so I had to drink in as much info as I could get my hands on so ask away! I dont know a think about teens on the boat. I have a soon to be 9 year old so that didnt pertain to me. :teeth: But I am SURE that your son will find a friend within our group and then going to the loft activities will be a little more comfortable with a familiar face.

Did you want to be in on the Fish Extender group? If you dont know what it is, which I kinda doubt since you are new to Disney Cruises as well as any cruise :rotfl2:, A fish extender is a type of shoe holder if you will, that hangs from the metal fish outside your stateroom door. It is a type of catch all for anything that would be delivered like newsletters from the ship and stuff. When you are a part of a fish extender group, we all give little presents to everyone. There is no set date, time, or even type of present to give. Anything you would think was appropriate for the person. It is geared towards the children, but adults love to participate as well.

I will more than likely be in the port terminal at 10. At least that is my goal. I will have a lei on (if I can find one, and I am going to try for a green one) which is our "sign" to each other that we are in the same group. After that, we have an official meet at 3:00 in the Promenade Lobby. If you see someone walking around the ship with a green lei on before them, just grab their arm and introduce yourself! :teeth:

I think that is it. If not, or if you have any other questions, just let me know!

Happy sailing!

Jen

YES , YES, 4-real that was our DS.

:scratchin Den...Jen...I like it!

Man that boy can fly! Why exactly did he go through Nashville from Texas to Orlando? Wouldnt it have been faster to go through Louisiana and lower Mississippi?

But he would need 4 days off because we come back on Thursday. Unless he can go in around 10....that would be a bummer day. Walk off a Disney cruise ship, drive an hour and go to work :( aaahh work from the boat? Wow that would be expensive! Unless he could work and then upload the files every hour or so. I have to work off the server all the time but that would be COOLIO!! "Boss, I was hoping to work from a cruise ship for a week. Yes be on a cruise and not take vacation." Will he be able to work from home some? I have the capabilities, lap top...cable internet connection...but not the permission from higher up....who works from home himself. :scratchin Doesnt sound right does it. ANYHOO!!!

Glad he made it safe. I just hope he doesnt melt next summer.

Jen

Welcome to the cruise!! We have a 14 son that is very talkative and knows the ship well from previous years cruising with us. He loves going on the cruise and has no problem talking to people. Maybe the two can catch up on facebook or twitter before the cruise.

My nephew and niece will keep him company. They are a little younger but they get along well with all age groups!

Anyone have any FE gift ideas for the Tweens and Teens???? I'm having a hard time with that age group!
