Hi everyone,
Looks like my family and I will be on this cruise with you guys. DH & I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary & decided to book this last minute.
It will be me (DJ),DH,& our 3.5 year old daughters. My mother may join us,but she is still working on clearing her schedule. The night before the cruise we will go to MNSSHP and drive to the port in the morning.
We have cruised many times pre-kids,but this will be our first Disney cruise & the kids first time on a cruise :cool1:
Although we will not participate in the FE,I just wanted to say "Hi":wave2:

Not really sure where we'll end up while the ship is leaving...
When Parrot Cay does the buffet, you still get a server but you gio up and get your own food. The quality of food is tons better than it is at the traditional buffet.

I didn't realize they had buffet. Is that only on on Embarkation or is it normally a buffet for lunch?

It switches around....not sure I recognized a pattern, but i do know that the first time we went there, which I think was the day we started, they had a nice buffet with tons of fruit and salads, seafood like peel-n-eat shrimp and other assorted things. They had a separate bar for dessert and anothe for kid friendly food like pastas and such.

I am sooooo looking forward to the food. I don't get a chance to eat really nice food. Between the ship and getting the free dining plan at the parks, I am going to be in heaven!!

....ok you guys have to check out these videos!

This was the cruise we were supposed to be on, but the DW unfortunately? got a promotion that doubled her travel times for work. Well ok that and the fact that airfare to Barcelona would have doubled the cost of the trip! lol

So if this is your first cruise or just your first disney cruise, these videos are awesome! (Day 1 part 1/2 doesn't have any disney stuff in it...so it can be skipped)

Cheers!

Yeah these guys are good! I saw the first videos and it really gave me a feel of what was going to happen. Now, I want to buy a video camera. You guys get ready to say "CHEESE!"

We ate there for breakfast one time and they had a buffet! It was really good...they had a very large variety and it wasn't very crowded in there!

Hey to everyone...

Just a bit more about us...

Bill and I (TJ...it's short for Tommi-Jo but noone EVER remembers that name...and no, my mom DIDN'T like Petticoat Junction! :rotfl2: If I had been a boy my mom was going to name me Matthew...go figure!) will be celebrating 20 WONDERful years onboard! :thumbsup2

We live in a suburb of Indianapolis.

We'll be in cabin 6137.

It's our first Disney cruise, 3rd cruise total...but first without our girls...ages 17 & 13 (ahhhhhhhh...yes you have permission to feel sorry for my DH! He definitely lives in the estrogen ocean so this will be a nice break for him!) :rotfl2:

Can't wait. Bill just asked me the other day if the FE exchange was supposed to stress me out or be fun. :rotfl: So many choices...having a hard time choosing what to bring! But I am having fun!!!!!

We'll plan on meeting by the TVs as long as we aren't standing in a long line since this is our first Disney cruise. Haven't decided what we are doing about Nassau yet so don't know if we'll be there for that meet. We are taking our girls on a Disney cruise next Spring Break (Lord willing:)) for our oldest DD's graduation celebration and are definitely going to Atlantis then...so we just can't decide if we need to "scope it out" before we take them! ;)

Jen...you are a hoot! I love your excitement!:thumbsup2 Do you have an idea of how the FE is going to be structured? I'm trying to grab things as I find them but didn't know if we are doing something every night...or just one night...or is that up to us? And I'm assuming we'll have to have a cutoff date for signing up for the FE exchange?????

Can you tell I'm a planner!?!?

Happy early Father's Day!

TJ

Sorry...computer, well, actually my wireless mouse...has a mind of its own today. I don't know how to delete a message!:confused3

Webmeister, again with my spotty reading I just caught you calling me captain. Captain Jen...I like it! Now I am going to have to make a Captain's hat :rotfl2:

Is that everyone that is on the FE and celebrating something near/on the cruise dates?

I am 99% sure we are doing a B2B because of webmeister (yes I am going to blame you on BOTH threads! lol). He makes it sound so wonderful! And after I got past the fact that I only really wanted to exercise the free dining plan, I really DIDN'T want to walk in scorching sun 10 hours a day for 2 days. So I think I am going to book the second cruise and cancel my WDW ressies. Anyone want Sept 30-Oct 3rd in Port Orleans Riverside, Free dining plan ressies? I am sure we can swap them if you do.

96 more days!!!

Oh my gosh. The time is just closing in on me. Where's my paper bag?

Jen

DW's birthday is 9/20 but we aren't celebrating it on the cruise....technically...

The food is one of my favorite parts of cruising! Palo brunch is my favorite....dh would say he loves the unlimited cheeseburgers! LOL!:thumbsup2

We're always torn....we hear that the Sunday brunch is top notch, but as they don't allow kids, we won't go. Our weekly routine is church, then a nice brunch.
Since Peanut has been eating at restaurants with us since she was 4 days old, she is more well behaved than most grown-ups we know ;-) but alas, I'm sure they won't let us bring her....so we won't go. Just wouldn't be the same without her.
Maybe one of you guys can take pictures or video it for us so we can live vicariously through you!

I know EXACTLY how you feel! My daughter is the SAME WAY! Very well mannered but from what I have seen of other children, I understand the restriction. I am sure that EVERY parent feels that their child isnt wild but they really are! lol So while I feel my child is the exception, I am glad that they dont bend the rules. But I also do not plan on seeing my child the whole trip. Not that I dont want to experience it with her, she is just going to try to get as much time in with other children as she can. If she isn't in the lab, I will be hovering, but I will leave her alone there lol

I thought about Palos, but I saw the brunch pictures and lets say...I dont think I would enjoy the food :D I am not a seafood kinda person and I am not good at trying new things. So I would hate to plunk down $15 MORE dollars to eat stuff I really dont want. :confused3

Hey Guys! Just a heads up about brunch......there is not just seafood. I dont eat seafood and brunch is so wonderful! We love it and have done it every time we could. Our kids will be in the clubs having fun. I checked out the activities in the club and there is not much my boys want to miss! LOL! We will ask them if they want to go to dinner with us on our dining rotation nights, but if they dont want to, I dont plan on making them go.......it is their vacation too after all:thumbsup2
But again, about brunch....it is fantastic! We are not doing Palo dinner this time as we have done it every cruise. And while it is wonderful, DH has opted for a "no-suit necessary" cruise. :rotfl:
