the transfers round trip would have been $140. We're going to hire a car one way to get to the port so we can get there earlier than the Disney buses would be. We're going to get the DCL transfers on disembarkation day just because it'd be easier than having to waste time on our last day taking the car back. Doing it that was works out to about $100. We decided that not having to take the luggage on the cruise wasn't worth the extra money.
i emailed Disney a while back about leaving the luggage there but they said no. I'll probably ask while I'm there in case they do say yes though.

Where do you login with a DVC reservation number? :woohoo: HOORAY, I just found it. May you all be blessed with pixiedust: I owe someone a bundle.

I called the dining reservations today to complain that I could not find any character dining openings. They have some kind of special where you book the one at Animal Kingdom at certain times and then you get preferred seating at the Nemo Show. We got lunch at 1:15 on the 29th with a 3:15 Nemo Show. I'm not sure if we wanted the Nemo show, but we'll do it as long as we get one character dining in :cool1:

BTW, I live right next to a Disney Outlet. We don't go often, but they have good deals every once in a while on small gifts. :tinker:

i think the character meals are pretty much some of the first ones to book up, they're the most popular. chef mickeys and the castle are pretty much impossible to get unless you call right when the booking window opens.

how did you manage to log in using your DVC reservation number? i got told only the DVC member could look at it, so i never tried.

i've just noticed that
I'VE OFFICIALLY GOT LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO!!!!

i was also thinking about my dining reservations earlier and i realised it was 2 months ago that i made them, where on earth has the time gone??!!!!

Well this morning I finished packing my bag for San Francisco. I don't actually leave until the 29th, but we send a freight truck to our large meetings and traditionally everyone puts their luggage on that truck so we don't have to carry anything at the airport other than our laptops. I know it sounds odd to be packed and ready to go on a business trip two weeks before it happens, but our boss allows us to wear jeans/shorts/casual clothes at the two week out mark so all of our business clothes can go on the truck! The truck will get to San Francisco on the 28th and our luggage is stored at our host hotel (in this case the Hilton San Francisco) for delivery to our rooms when we check in. It's a pretty neat set up. All we have to do is get to O'Hare airport, do curbside check in, go through security...and we are done! I love it, but I am spoiled I want vacations to be that way too!

Today at work I have to sit down with the Executive Director, Mark, and plan out our evening dining events. That's another good thing about Mark...he knows we work really long days (typically 4am to 7pm) so he has me arrange a fine dining experience every night for staff. We are not required to go to these dinners, we have the option of eating out on our own or ordering room service if we are tired....but pretty much everyone of our staff of 15 will go because it is usually to places none of us could afford on our own. It's a nice perk for all the long hours everyone puts in.

Last night Kelly and I went to see The Collector. I made the mistake of not looking into what kind of movie it was and I ended up spending a lot of it hiding my eyes. I LOVE scary movies...but this is what they call "torture porn"....a movie that is nothing but a series of scenes of different characters being tortured...like Hostel. The movie had a little plot...but oh my gosh it made me cringe the entire time...and I had to walk out once when a cat was stuck in acid. I should have stayed home and watched my DVD of Fast and Furious.

I just checked on the Sept. 17th Wonder thread, since that is one week before ours. One of the ladys with a GTY12 got her assignment a couple of days ago, at 37 days...so maybe early next week we will finally know!! :cool1:

I hope so! I am soooo excited about seeing a room number!!

i checked out the meet threads after you posted that, is it bad (actually i think its kinda cool!!) that the september 17th sailing thread only has 4 pages, and the september 20th one only has 11 pages.
we're up to 172 pages now and counting!!!

i think we should set a target to reach the maximum thread limit of 250 pages by the time we sail!! come on everyone, we can do it!!

Oh, we can totally get 250 posts!! :goodvibes

I'm leaving work, off to fight the traffic that has been insanly bad this week...at least I don't have to work tomorrow!!

hope you get home without too much trouble with the traffic. But yay for having Friday off!

Well it looks like i might be going up to Scotland next weekend. Gary's got a meeting at the end of next week in Glasgow, he's going up Thursday and staying with his parents til Sunday. I thought i might as well go with him, I'm only going to be sat at home bored otherwise so me and the dog are going along for the roadtrip.

i can't sleep, grrrrr.
i went to be about 2 hours ago, but watched family guy for ages, but turned that off about quarter to twelve and have been led in bed trying to get to sleep since. i've just given up and come downstairs to watch tv instead. :(

When you get to Scotland, please go to the Sweater Shop in Edinburogh and pick me up a new sweater. The one I got 14 years ago is starting to look a little...worn ;) LOL!

lol, edinburgh has the festival on, which makes it practically impossible to get anywhere near it for the entire month of august! but there's edinburgh woolen mills stores everywhere, if you do want one i could pick you one up and bring it over?

Jenny, what is the AAA price for a 7 day park hopper? Kelly doesn't want to lay out the cash for an AP, and I can understand that since we want to try to go to Disneyland next year so she probably wouldn't be at Disney World twice in a year.

The price is the same as if you got it at the gate. There is no discount for a 7 Day Hopper in our office. Disney only lets us discount certain tickets and those are usually the ones with no expiration and water park option. Check with your local AAA office. They may have different types of tickets for sale than we do.

You ladies have been CHATTY! I think we can definitely get to 250 pages!

only 78 more pages to go!!

i'm making my cruise magnets!!! (well some of them)
yay for getting excited about the cruise!!

My ship is really flying. I can't believe it's getting so close!! 6 weeks from yesterday for the cruise, 5 weeks from Sunday til I'm in WDW!

Here's hoping I get my passport in time!

Jenny when did you send in your application? When I did mine at the Post Office they told me 6 - 8 weeks, I got it in two. Bob did his a week after mine at a different Post Office, and they told him 4 weeks...he got it in one week. We didn't pay any extra to rush them...it was just extremely fast.;)

I called AAA, they told me if I took my card to the gate I would save $12.95 off of a 7 day park hopper. The only tickets I could get from my branch would be 3 or 5 day tickets.
