9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

Uggggggg...I am having major planning difficulties!! So, I booked all my shore excursions and other things, right? Well, I now realize that we are going to miss the shows on two of the nights!! Since I've never been on the cruise, i'm not sure how the shows are...but I don't want to miss them!! I have changed the rasual thing to 5:00-5:50 on castaway day, so that we can see the show at 6:15. But my Palo ressie is at 6, so we will miss the toy story show...unless we skip the dining room that night and see it. Which I don't really want to miss a dining room either...what to do!!!???

Has anyone seen the toy story show? Is it good?

That sucks about your work. My department got split up last year because it is so big now, and the director of the other half is kind of like that. It always makes me glad we are under the other lady!! He is always making them go off site for team building and passing around team building books...I think it would be kind of uncomfertable? But, who knows!

All the shows on the ship are supposed to be fabulous! Can you move your Palo ressie any earlier to catch the show?

hows everyone? i'm so glad its the weekend, its been a very hard week (not actual workload wise, just mentally at work, lot of stupid s**t going on) and i'm glad its over.
plus i'm a bit worn down and i've got a rotten cold.

i've really gotta sort out my ADRs, gotta make them on sunday........

right i think i've got it sorted. havent got a clue when and what date, but i think i'll leave that up to fate, what i can get and when, i'm really not that fussed as to exact dates:

i think i'm going to try and get big river grille at the boardwalk for the night before the cruise, we can go there before we all meet up at jellyrolls. and we'll do sanaa while we're staying at AKL as its only next door. CRT we'll do on the night we go to MNSSHP if we can get it, but the rest are flexible on the dates

What night are you going to MNSSHP? We're going to Epcot the night before the cruise so we're going to eat at Le Cellier that night. Epcot also has EMH so maybe we could all meet up for a drink there instead...

i think we'll go to MNSSHP on the 15th, so we're going to try and get CRT for about 5.30 on that day.
is there anywhere decent in epcot to meet up for a drink? we could meet in epcot or we could move jellyrolls to another night? i dont mind, we'll still go to jellyrolls one night anyway

It doesn't matter to me where we go. Jellyrolls is fine because it's right next to Epcot. I know I said I wanted to call it an early night but I do want to take advantage of EMH there. I love EMH at night! I don't know if there's a decent place to get drinks in Epcot; I love getting a drink and walking around the countries at night.

Don't worry Lainey, if you still need a ride back to Poly, I got you covered!

lets see what everyone else thinks, i'll go with the flow, i think if we go to EMH that night we'll end up on mission space and test track all night if garys got anythign to do with it

Karen, keep in mind that you can't book Big River until 24 hours in advance. At least when we were there. It's not usually too hard to get though, you can just call them the day before.

Also, not that it's a big deal, but I won't be staying at Disney so I won't be able to get in for the EMH. I can just get there before 9 though and I think I would be okay to walk around for a bit. Or we could move jellyrolls to another night too. There is actually an event for my conference that night, so i'm not positive I can make it, depending on how important it is (the event, I mean -- obviously drinking with you guys is VERY important, LOL!!).

So, I changed around my stuff at Castaway Cay. I read somewhere not to book the first or second appointment in case the ship docks late, and I had booked the first. So, I changed it to 3-3:50, and moved the stingray swim to 10-11. I will not be overly crushed if we miss the stingrays, and we might even be able to get a later time if the ship did happen to arrive late. Plus, someone else mentioned that the oils they use in the massage can cause you to burn -- so probably not a great idea if we are going to be snorkeling later in the day!!

Actually, when is everyone getting there? I will be staying at Disney on Sunday night. Will everyone be there then? We could meet up somplace that night? Just a thought.....

jenny, thanks for the heads up about big river grill, i'm now looking at captains grille at the yacht club to replace it........

Big River Grille is very good!! I just wanted you to know you can't make an ADR there. The only time I have ever seen anyone turned away was after the marathon because it ends at epcot, and the boardwalk was jammed. You can make a ressie the day of though. The have great cheddar beer soup! And good burgers. But Captian's Grill is also very good. I am a lot of help, huh?? LOL!!

I'm in Disney 9/20-9/29. It doesn't matter to me what we do! I'm very go with the flow after my planning is done.

i've been looking at all the menus and captains grill seemed to get better reviews than big river grill.
i think the only 2 credit meal we're going for is CRT, i think the rest are 1 credit. we've been to a few of the places before (CRT, crystal palace, WCC, 50's prime time, chef mickeys) but the other 6 are new.
we went to ohanas for dinner last year, thought it was ok but we like our meat a little less overcooked, so we're thinking of trying dinner this time, breakfast with stitch sounds like a good way to start the day

Possibly. We're going to do Fantasmic that night at DHS so maybe we can meet up afterward. Probably won't stay late though because we'll be getting up early to do breakfast at Tusker House the next morning.

I'm not stressing too much about meeting up because we're all going to have 3 nights together on the ship!
