i'm not being very patient at mo when it comes to the room assignments!!!

I'm not being very patient about the room assignments, either, Karen!! I just really want to know!! Although it does keep giving me something to check for, I still want to know!!

Karen, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Sometimes you just never know, people who conduct interviews can be so hard to read!!

I'm so excited, only 49 days until my DSis and I get to Disneyworld!! :cool1:

We haven't purchased our return ticket yet. :surfweb: We'll be at the Animal Kingdom post cruise. I found some good deals on ex......dot com for $154. From what I remember, Animal Kingdom was my favorite park. We did one night with the Savannah view. Our son wants the Nick Hotel for all 3 nites. On the way to the port, we're thinking about dropping off a rental car. Haven't figured out how to get to Animal Kingdom afterwards. Any ideas?

we're staying at the AKL pre cruise, we stayed there last year and loved it so really looking forward to getting back there!!
i hope you do make it on the cruise too! have you thought about the DCL transfers for the way back? we're hiring a car wednesday and dropping it back off on the sunday when we get back off the cruise. the 4 day car hire plus the parking fee came to the same price as the DCL transfers, and it means we can leave some of the luggage in the car while we're on the ship.

Glad your mom is coming home, Lainey! :woohoo:

I'm staying at AKL post cruise too! Never stayed deluxe before so I'm really looking forward to it. :)

It's weird. My confirmation for WL pre-cruise won't come up on the Disney TA site. But when I call (I wanted to request an inner courtyard view), they pull it up no problem. I wonder why that is. :confused3

there's some very strange things been happening with the disney world and disney cruise websites recently. they've both been playing up for me the past few days :(

:banana::banana:We're doing the happy dance over here tonight!:banana::banana:

WE JUST BOUGHT OUR FIRST ANNUAL PASSES!
We talked about it and since we are going in May of 2010 and with ticket prices going up this weekend it made sense for us to buy two AP. I must admit that it kind of freaked me out to lay out that kind of money right after buying the car last week...but I got some good news this week...and I said what the heck, Let's do it!

I will try to keep this story as brief as I can (knowing full well that I am very long winded). September 24, 2007 Bob and I were doing some errands at one of our local malls. We parked the car and as we were walking I fell into a hole in the parking lot (the hole was about 4 feet deep and wide enough to fit my foot in all the way up to my knee)...my ankle snapped back and I fell forward and put out my hands to break my fall. Bob tried to flag down one of the mall security guards, but he just drove by...then he ran into one of the stores to get someone from the mall...still nobody came. Bob decided to get me out of the hole himself and take me to the hospital. The minute he pulled me out I knew I fractured my ankle, in fact when he got me in the car I passed out. I was in a cast, then a walking boot and did 9 weeks of therapy. I also fractured my wrist and had to have a bone removed that was shattered and sticking in a tendon. The mall admitted they were at fault...but I ended up having to get an Attorney because they were not forthcoming about my rights. So here we are two years later and my attorney called me today to tell me that I should be receiving a very large check in the ext 30 days!

Time to celebrate "Disney Style"!:woohoo:

so sorry to hear you had the accident in the first place, but yay for getting compensation for it!!
annual passes are great, thats the way i justified going back for 2 big holidays within a year, its because i bought the APs last year and of course they needed to be used again didnt they ;)

lainey, hope your mum is ok and out of hospital, i saw her facebook status yesterday and hoping she's ok now :)

well i went for that interview on wednesday, and although it seemed to go ok, i didnt expect to get the job. they said they're going to be making a decision fast (re:second interviews), and we should hear back within a week. so i've been kinda expecting a letter to come through the past few days saying "we regret to inform you...".
well as of yet nothing's turned up, so i'm not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. still keeping fingers crossed, its only a temporary job (about 5-6 months) but its perfect for me, its a job i've already done and think i can get really stuck in to. but it doesnt start til september 1st and i'm away for 17 days in that month, so thats whats going against me at the mo.

its august 1st, so we can now officially say we're going on vacation NEXT month!!
and it's exactly 6 weeks til we fly out!!! :dancer:

Karen - You never know you may get the job even if you are going on vacation. The same thing happened to me with my job. When Kelly's Dad and I split up I decided she was old enough (13) for me to go back to working full time. I started going on interviews even though I had a vacation planned (bet you can guess where we were going;), yep Disney!). I posted a resume on AOL Jobs and I got a call for an interview the next day. The interview went well, and I told them that I had an upcoming vacation...so I couldn't start for three weeks. They told me that they had some other people to interview and they would get back to me. The next day I got a call telling me that I had the job, and could start after my vacation. I was shocked, especially since my experience was tons of retail management and this was an office job.

Sometimes it is all about being in the right place at the right time! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!:thumbsup2

YAY!!! We are going to Disney NEXT MONTH!! LOL, Karen I thought the exact same thing as you!! We are in Michigan for the weekend, and Tim's Aunt & Uncle are here...so we had to sleep downstairs last night. On a 3/4 twin size pull out. For Tim, Me, and Minnie. Yeah, that worked!! I went and slept on the couch, LOL!!

So, Tim bid on a bike on ebay. It has 2 minutes left and he's still winning. Actually, 1 minute. It's over his already increased limit. Plus, there is still license, title, and tax. First, I started him at $4,000. Then I increased it very nicely to $5,500. So he bid $5,539!! Plus tax. Plus a helmet, gloves, and a jacket. Geez. That is not $5,500 or less!! Okay, so now it's over and he won!! I'm going to kill him, LOL!! We are going to be going on a VERY nice cruise as part of this deal!!

What are you all up to this weekend?

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your accident Donna but that's great you got a big, fat check coming to you now!

You never know, Karen. You could end up getting a call saying that you can start after your vacation. Sending some pixie dust your way. pixiedust:

We're going next month! 7 weeks from tomorrow!

Hi Mary! Congrats to Tim (I think) :rotfl:

No big plans for this weekend. I'm supposed to go to a BBQ tonight at Joe's friends but I'm not feeling great. I think I'm just worn out. Last weekend was busy, work this week, plus an overnight trip out to Hershey, and then I went to the movies last night and that didn't get out til 11:30 and I had work this morning...yeah, I'm tired.

I'm staying over my sister's tomorrow. I have to take her to the airport at 5 am on Monday...and then go to work. :guilty:

What about you guys?

When is the cutoff going to be for the FE? I bought most of the stuff I need and am probably going to pick up a few extra things but I'll wait til the cutoff to get exactly the amount I need. Any idea, Karen? ;)

Did you know Disney allows you to print e-tickets now? Not for regular tickets but for special events like MNSSHP. I just noticed that when I ordered them for a client. I don't mind the will call system but a lot of clients hate it and don't like having to pay extra to have the tickets shipped. Guess Disney picked up on that!

i like having them shipped!! gets me more excited!!

not sure about the cut off for the FE, what does everyone think of a month out? maybe 24th of this month? or would you all want it to be earlier or later?
i know some of the cruise meets allow people to join after the cut off but only on the understanding that they may not get gifts from all the participants. what do you all think?

I think the cutoff for a month out is good. Some of the stuff I have a dozen of...other stuff I find is going to be the exact number of what I need to be a little more cost effecient. So if people join in after, they'll get some stuff but not the same as everyone else. Make sense? I said stuff a lot. :rotfl:

lets see if everyone else agrees but i think a month is a good fair cut off date.
if anyone else wants to join in after the month i'll still do them a bag, it might not have all the stuff in but i was buying 15 of most things so i'll have a few spare. i know last year we had a few last minute additions because quite a few people dont find the meet threads til a few weeks before the cruise.

its absolutely chucking it down with rain here, its been doing it for the last couple of hours. we've just been out for dinner but are now back at home because its too wet to go anywhere. :(
