9/19/09 Western Magic

I've paid my deposit and am coming along! I am SO excited! It'll be my birthday on the 19th (great way to start the cruise) and I get to take this one solo... which makes me even more excited! The countdown is on! ;)

Welcome aboard!

Welcome:goodvibes ! My DM's birthday is the 19th as well and mine is on the 28th. Even though my daughter will think it is her birthday (which is in April). Definately will need to do a Dis birthday celebration! :cheer2: Any reason and any where to have a party, I am there!

Thanks Melissa for the tip on the sale/clearance web site, I will have to check it out! Now, regarding being organized-:lmao: I am usually very disorganized. But, I think knowing I am going back to school in January makes me want to make sure that I have as much done in order to relax during the holidays. You realize I am adding more fuel to that fire for you!:rotfl:

Hi Melissa, just an FYI.....two years ago I bought 2 new TVs on Black Friday and didn't even go to the store!!! At midnight I went online to Walmart's site and they honored the price online and I just clicked and they were delivered to the house. No early morning wake ups and no lines.

Great info. I love to shop clearance sales. I usually have most of my shopping done by the end of summer. I shop early, but I'm terrible about getting gifts in the mail on time.:lmao: I know the b-days & Christmas are coming, I just never seem to make it to the post office.:confused3

When I have to get a gift out in the mail, I order online and have it shipped directly to the person receiving it. It saves money and time at the post office. Also, you can usually have it gift wrapped.

I used to be really bad at this, too. Like Deb, I sometimes ship direct from Amazon, etc., but often I pick up little items for my niece on sale, etc. and have to ship them.

Have you tried the USPS website? Once you set up your account, all you have to do is make a couple of clicks and it prints out a prepaid label on regular paper that you can tape to the box (I keep a stack of my favorite size Priority Mail boxes in my garage). Then you can either leave it for the mail carrier or breeze by the line in the post office and drop it at the end of the counter and walk out (that's so satisfying, especially at Christmas when there are 57 box-toting people waiting in line for the one postal employee who is not on break ) It does require a cheap digital scale (you can get them on eBay for less than $25 shipped). Now my niece actually gets the clothes I buy her while they still fit. :rotfl:

Who thinks it might be fun to have a name for our group? Any creative people out there?

AH, shipping! I hate that part. Half the time I forget to ship or get so busy with my in town family that I forget to do the out of towners. And one of them lives in Hawaii!! I keep saying I am just going to do it now (I just send gift cards anyway) and get it over with. Of course, that would require going to the store, getting the gift cards and actually sending them. If I could pry myself away from the computer long enough, it may happen.
I think that we do need a name for our group!! However, sad to say I lack in the creative department, I will get to thinking though. Anyone else?

As I was playing around with group names (instead of cleaning my kitchen like I'm supposed to be doing) I looked up obscure holidays and guess what? September 19th is "International Talk Like a Pirate Day." No joke. Not sure if we could incorporate that or not, but it's pretty funny.

Welcome aboard, my dd's birthdays are the 19 and 25, then mine is October 2, so we have a whole b-day week.

How about.....Talking Pirates Taking the Magic West.....or something along those lines.

The Wild Wild West With The Magical Mouse

Making Waves Going West With Mickey

I think I like the last one the best.....Making Waves Going West With Mickey.:rolleyes1

Not sure though. Very open to other suggestions.

I don't know how to do graphics, so making a logo is out for me. My DH John may be able to do it though. He's much better at that stuff than I am. Still, he's just a novice. If anyone else feels more comfortable in that area, please come up with a design that we can all use.

Cute suggestions! How do you get your brain working so early in the a.m.? Here's me...:surfweb:

Maybe we need a name AND a slogan, kind of like your Champagne Girls thing. Like "The International Talking Pirates: Making waves on the Western with Mickey"

Not sure about the International Talking Pirates part, but you get the drift. :)

If your DH has some graphic ideas, that would be great! I know a guy who does that for a living and thought about asking him, but I don't know him really well, so not sure. I thought if we came up with something good, it might be fun to do t-shirt transfers for anyone who wants them, but I'm getting WAY ahead of myself here, lol.

That one is very cute also!! Love it!

Or, if we end up with a Pirate theme... Yo ho, westward we go.

I LOVE it....I'll check with John and see what he can come up with. He's not here right now because he had to go into work today. OT to pay for this trip....hahaha!

Here's another one.....Sailing Towards Sunsets at Sea With Mickey.

I like that one.

We could add the.....International Talking Pirates: Sailing Towards Sunsets at Sea With Mickey!

I like it! What does everybody else think?
