9/16-10/3 The trip that dreams are made of....

We've never seen the candy maker...........we'll have to make time for that. Another great installment! :thumbsup2 Your pictures........ :sad2: :grouphug:

Miyuki's awesome creations stowed safely away, it was time to head back around the land. This time we went off toward Canada and slowly made our way over. We took time to stop for pictures and investigate some of the stores that make each of the areas unique. Once we had made our way back to Canada, it was time for lunch and on the suggestion of my fellow DISers were going to dine at Le Cellier. When we arrived they couldn't find our ressie...thankfully I had the ressie number. For some reason, it had been canceled out of the system (???) but they honored it anyway and after a very short wait we were seated. The cheese soup was everything I had heard and more it was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. My steak was very good. The only thing I was less then jumping for joy about was the shrimp appetizer. It was not bad...just nothing to plan a meal back there on account o. HOWEVER, everything else that passed through my lips was YUM! Dh loved the meal as well. I had the grilled petite fillet. It was very tender, perfectly seasoned and not at all fatty or tough. Dh had the New York strip steak. That was given a very favorable review as well.

The boys all had the 6 oz. steak and corn. For dessert they had the chocolate mousse. I wish our pictures had not been lost. The presentation on that dessert was adorable!

Our server was very friendly and the service was very good overall. Le Cellier will be on our personal "Must Eat" list for our next visit.

During the meal a woman approached us and thanked us for having well behaved children and told us we should be proud of them. :teeth: Why thank you kindly ma'am! ;) I didn't admit to her that our youngest had been the one screaming outside of Chef Mickey's the night before. :lmao:

After lunch it was late in the afternoon (we had lunch at 2:30 PM). We went over to let "Stitch" ride on "Figment's Ride". That is what he calls it. Of course, there was no line so we were able to get straight on. We rode it three times in a row. After our third time we stopped and played around in the Kodak, What If Labs, "Goofy" was chosen to take part in the cute little skit with the digital camera. As part of the skit he was honored as "Inventor of the Year". Another great freebie at WDW, we were given a picture of him during the demonstration! He was so proud of himself!! :3dglasses

On our way out we stopped to visit with Figment. We just caught sight of his tail going through a door when we entered his greeting area. Upon asking we learned he would be back out within 10 minutes so we took a seat on the benches outside of his greeting area and the boys played "spot the lizard". I think it was "Aladdin" who won that round. He saw 6 lizards (or maybe it was just the same one or two over and over again;)). The benches next to Figment's greeting area are removed from the hustle and bustle of the main path and a nice quiet place to take a break in a shady spot.

Very soon Figment was back in place and we had some hugging to do. Figment is one of our boys' favorite characters. All three of them love him for his antics. They also think he is a really cool "undercover" character that people who have never been to WDW know nothing about. They loved it when they realized they knew about a Disney character that most of their cousins had no clue about! :lmao:

"Stitch" was so excited to see Figment that he looked as if he were about to burst. "Goofy" had to share his news of being chosen as Inventor of the Year. This character interaction was great! Figment got really into trying to communicate with the boys via gestures and pointing. He really took a LONG time with the boys. We spent about 10 minutes with him before anybody else ventured in. When they did, we left and took a seat on our new favorite out of the way benches and broke out the water bottles that we had in our bags. When "Stitch" saw them leave he wanted to go back in. So, "Stitch" and I headed back in for another visit and dh and the older boys played another round of "spot the lizard". I really wish I had the pictures from this meeting. "Stitch" and Figment played hide and seek, went for a walk through the greeting area with Figment pointing things out to "Stitch" and hugged over and over and over again! This special time qualifies for one of "Stitch's" trip highlights and one of his mommy's too! It was a magical time full of laughter and smiles that stretched from ear to ear. So...even though I have said it before...I will say it again...I wish I had those pictures. One in particular breaks my heart over losing. It was one of "Stitch" and Figment touching noses. It looks like Figment is giving him a kiss. :sad2: Why, oh why, did we lose those photos?

**TIP... Be double sure you have the pictures burned to a disc before you dump them from your hard drive and erase them from your memory stick!!**

After our fun with Figment we went over and got another fast pass for Soarin'. Yep, we wanted to do it yet again. While we were waiting for it to be time to use the fast pass we walked over and had a visit with Crush. On our way back over, "Stitch" spilled a bottle of water all over his shorts. So...it was time to get him new shorts. Well...that was WAY harder then it sounds...for men they had golf shorts for sale. For women, they had jogging type shorts for sale. For little girls they had a few short skits/skorts and even two outfits with shorts. But for little boys? They had only pants or PJs (that had shorts as part of the outfit). Being as it was in the upper 80s we went with the PJ shorts. Not only didn't "Stitch" mind, but he thought they were cool. And with his bright Disney t-shirt they didn't look all that bad.

Crisis averted, we went over to ride on Ellen's Energy Adventure. It must be the longest ride ever, but it's still pretty entertaining. I even enjoy the pre show. Word of caution, if you are going to ride...be sure to grab a spot on a bench along the sides/back of the pre show area. Everyone who doesn't will have to stand during the entire pre show. No floor sitting allowed!

After we got done with that ride, we made our way over to try and ride Test Track. But that was not to be. The ride was closed down and they told us to try back in an hour. So while dh and the younger boys once again played on the little playground, "Aladdin" and I took another trip into outer space (via the wimp's path).

Upon landing safely on Mars, it was time to head back over to the World Showcase. We stopped first at Mexico, rode on El Rio de Tiempo and then listened to the strolling Mariachi band play. This is one of our favorite countries to explore. It is so vibrant and so full of life and color that it is very enjoyable to explore every nook and cranny. We also love the indoor, outdoor market. When we entered the pavilion it was dusk. Upon exiting it was almost dark.

We had just enough time left to take a quick ride on Maelstrom. Thankfully we made it out without being cursed by a troll and then walked on toward China and at this time of year, we even got bench seating between China and Norway for Illuminations by walking up just 15 minutes before it was to begin. Illuminations seating taken care of, I set off in search of our dinner. We had counter service food from the Lotus Blossom Café. I ran over to China and grabbed it and brought it back to dh and the boys who were holding our space for Illuminations. The Red Bean ice cream is VERY good!

While we were enjoying our ice cream Illuminations started. It was another one of those "never want to forget it" memories. It was so nice to just sit there watching the fireworks go off, listening to the music and holding on to the boys and dh...all really was right in the world!!

As soon as Illuminations was over, we joined the masses heading for the monorail (we got on the first one that pulled up) and made our sleepy way back to the resort. Just about as soon as we stumbled into the room we were asleep.

It had been a L-O-N-G day...but one that was full of small joys and big ones. A day when I found out that Disney doesn't sell little boys shorts at EPCOT (why??) and a day when everything just flowed without much pre planning. It was a great day!

Best Moments of the Day: "Stitch" playing with Figment. Watching Illuminations while eating red bean ice cream. Watching Kristos and getting to visit with them afterward. "Goofy" getting to participate in the skit in the What If Labs.

Worst Moments of the Day: "Stitch" needing new shorts and not being able to find any (other then PJ shorts) in any of the EPCOT stores. Having a few moments panic when they told me our ressie was canceled out of the system at Le Cellier.

We just LOVE Le Cellier..........it's our absolute FAVE and we ate there twice last trip! :teeth:

Very nice Epcot day, I enjoyed every minute of it.........even shopping with you for Stitch's new shorts...............you really do make me feel as if I'm there. :goodvibes

I hate to keep bringing it up, but I am just really sorry about your pictures.......... :sad2: :grouphug:

Yay! More trip report.

By the way, curious about the red bean ice cream. What did it taste like???

Just popping in to say again, great report! DH and I also love Miyuki. She's so talented and fun to watch. :)

jaycns - I just caught up on your recent chapters.

Glad to read that everything worked our at TL. We were there in July and it was packed! And we had a not-so-magical experience while there. We should have brought it to the attention of the CM's, but we just left. I'm sure Christopher would have come to our rescue too! Great story!

The un-birthday celebration was great!

Thanks!

It was very sweet...not really fruity...maybe more of a vanilla sweet...but not vanilla flavored (if that makes any sense at all!;)). It was just very good!

I am loving this trip report! What a nice family - it seems that your happy spirit did not go unnoticed by Disney staffers! Can't wait to read more!!!

Subscribing, love your trip report! You pics are great. Guess I won't be stopping in Valdosta on our way next trip, too scared of bugs.

:thumbsup2 loving your trip report. I've been reading it now for a few days and I'm hooked!!! :yay: I can't wait to read more about your magical trip!! Keep the installments coming!!!!

Morning came a bit later (well at least the part we saw;)) then usual this morning. We didn't get out of bed until about 9:00 AM and then we took our time getting ready. Today we chose to drive again. We needed to gas up the van anyway in order to be ready for our drive to the port the next day. So...off to MGM we went...

Upon arriving we made our way over to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area...my boys love that place...I don't think it's half bad myself! It feels just like stepping into a giant's backyard. My boys like to take a ride on "Anty". I like to watch them climb up the giant spider webs. The only drawback is that area gets really hot!! Even in the morning it was a bit hot for an extended visit...but that's okay...we didn't have a lot of time until lunch.

After growing back to normal size, we made our way over to the Sci-Fi. Lunch was really good!! Dh had the 7 bean chili and I had the spinach and artichoke dip (the best dip I have ever had!!) to start. "Aladdin" had the onion ring (wow...that was good). The two younger boys each had the veggies/dip. When we got there...the kids were so excited! The monsters on the big screen, the "almost dark" lighting...it was the drive in that every kid's dreams! In addition to the fun atmosphere around our table...we had three glowing cups of fun on our table. We got the boys each a glowing ice cube and a glow in the dark cup. They loved them! I am so glad we decided to spend the extra money (they were not on the dining plan)! Each of them looked so happy with the glowing cubes blinking in front of their faces!

After a delicious lunch it was time to head out and enjoy the rest of the park. First up? We took a ride to Endor and back. "Aladdin" LOVES  this ride!! If he could chose a career path, he would chose to become a Jedi. :yoda: While we did a bit of space travel...the younger boys rode on some podracers...they always have so much fun climbing up on those!

Upon the completion of our intergalactic adventure we were off to see some crazy, funny, cute and often wacky Muppet's. Muppet's 3-D is a great show! I love the surprise effects and the funny moments. Sam Eagle makes me laugh so hard when he tries to put on the finale. I love seeing characters from my childhood come alive for my children. It's like taking a walk down memory lane with my own kids! I wonder why they don't show the Muppet's or Fraggle Rock on tv anymore. With all of the networks around these days you think one of them would pick those shows up!

Bidding Kermit and friends goodbye we made our way over to the Toy Story greeting area (in front of Al's Toy Barn). We were very excited to finally see the army men from Toy Story. We had been looking for them on our previous trips but never been lucky enough to be around when they came out. My boys had a ton of fun with the troops. In fact, one of the army men took a special interest in "Stitch". He wanted to keep "Stitch's" pin lanyard for himself. He took it right off of "Stitch's" neck!!
sept06disneydisc5005.jpg

Here you see him grabbing the lanyard right off of his neck..."Stitch" had no idea what to do...he looked a combination of nervous and excited and just a tad bit scared.
sept06disneydisc5004.jpg

In the above picture you can see the army man trying to figure out what to do with a lanyard. "Stitch" and his brothers were busy explaining..."you wear it like a necklace...but it's not just for girls" :lmao: !

In this last picture, "Stitch" was looking over to mom and dad for some back up! I think he wasn't sure if he should laugh or go to war over his lanyard with the army man!! ;) It was such a funny interaction! My boys got to play with him for almost 5 minutes straight! Did I mention how much I love Disney in the off season??
sept06disneydisc5002.jpg

I took another trip with the boys down memory lane when we saw the Love Bug! I remember watching that movie as a child! Seeing the boys excited faces beaming at yet another thing that I had loved as a child was great! It is so much fun to share those moments with your kids!!
