9/16/07 4 nights on the Wonder - Anyone else there yet

Hello to everyone!! We are so pumped and ready for Sept 16 to get here!!
We have not started packing yet, but the do not forget list has been made. I double checked the birth certificates last night just to make sure I was good there :thumbsup2
My DH and DD15 plan on doing the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau. She has wanted to do this forever!! I think it will be a great experience for them to share together!!
I will see you guys in a month!!!!!!!

So excited to finally find this thread. :cheer2: I searched one other time but must have searched the wrong way.

This will be our third DCL cruise. There are six of us going (dh, I, ds 16, ds 10, ds 7, and dd 5) The younger three are so excited about the club and lab. They loved it last time. DH and I have booked the couples choice and hope to up it to the ultimate indulgence. We have planned no excursions as we like to enjoy our Nassau day as another day aboard the ship. In our prev cruise (3n) we didn't see any shows popcorn:: and suchas we were too busy and often tired after dinner. We hope to change that this time. We have second dinner seating by choice so hope to catch some. Our first DC we did Atlantis in Nassau, but felt once was enough. It really is neat if you haven't done it before.

I haven't started packing yet but have started buying small things here and there in addition to the clothes I have boughten everyone :scared1: Bought some glow sticks last night and am thinking about hitting a party store for pirate stuff today pirate: . We aren't going all out like last time, but want a few accessories, iykwim!

We should all meet up. Is anyone planning on going to the decade party and dressing up (which is it? 60's, 70's or 80's-I can't remember :hippie:

Let's keep this thread up! I too am hoping for a fairly empty ship (more for us). We've stayed cat 10 both other times and while it is fine, we are going to try to upgrade at the port, but it's harder because we require two connecting rooms. I'm not expecting it free but hope they have two available with a window or even a verandah, keep thinking pixiedust: that there are some available.

Oh yeah, let's keep thinking pixiedust: that the weather cooperates while we are there too!

Are any of you doing the parks or a WDW stay before the cruise? We will be at POP from the 10-16th.

Nice to meet you all and I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Booked the 4 night while on board. Anyone else sailing with us.
How much was the discount and ship board credit. We are looking at either booking a Spring Break 7n '09 or Christmas 7n '08 or '09 while on board.

Going with DH, DD 3 and DD3.
Can't wait to meet you and your princesses in training!

I will be traveling with DH, DS (5) and DD (4). In addition, our friends will be coming with their DD (6) and DS (3).
Sounds like fun going with friends. Your kids are so close in age too, perfect companions. I have a five yr old dd who would love to meet the girls.

I'm going on the 9/16/07 wonder along with DH and DD(6) andDD(2).
Another young girl. There are going to be tons of princesses on this ship!

We are a family of 5 with a DD 15, DD 6, and DS 3. We are so excited!!!
I have a sixteen yr old ds coming with, at least I hope so. He keeps saying he is for sure going, but two years ago he backed out at the last minute because of homecoming, but he was miserable the whole time we were gone. Maybe he and your dd can do the teen thing on castaway cay.

It will be me :hippie: , dh :surfweb: , ds6 pirate: and our babe:flower:
My 7 y/o ds is always looking for travel friends. He was so excited two years ago when we met three other boys named Blake between the cruise and the parks.

We are without kids again. I guess we are celebrating, "US"!
AWESOME for you. We go away alone at least every other year and next year we are doing a sans kids Disney cruise too!

My Mom, aunt and I are coming along!
And thanks to all you last-minute bookers, hopefully you'll help influence the :wizard: (upgrade fairy) to change us from our Cat 12 gty into a lovely room with a view!
Can't wait to meet you, here's a little pixiedust: for your upgrade hopes!

Let's keep this thread up there!! :woohoo: :thumbsup2

When I booked the cruise Sunday I didn't see this thread so stared another glad to know there are some peeps sailing the same time as us.This will be are 2nd Disney cruise this year. The first time it was my husband (Ron 40) daughter (Kailey 16) and myself (Renee 41) This time it will be Ron my mother Bobbi and myself. Next time we hope to do a 7 night for just the 2 of us;)

redmomof4- my dd15 has already mentioned trying to find a friend so she would have someone to hang out with! I told her she would definately need to attend a teen event on the 1st night. She plans on it!!!!:cool1: She is outgoing once she gets to know people, but very shy at first. My dd6 on the other hand will probably know everybody on the ship when it is over :flower3: She loves people and will talk to anybody!!!! It sounds like we will have kids in the same groups!!! We have never been on a Disney cruise so what can I bring for the sail away party??? I know people have mentioned the glow sticks, what about silly string? My kids love that stuff!!

My son is quite shy too, but opens up more when mom isn't around :confused3 We have glow sticks and necklaces but I have heard of people bringing silly string and pop confetti.

Hey everybody, we just booked today. I am traveling with my 13 year old daughter and my 5 year old son who will turn 6 on board. My daughter and I have been on the Magic before for the turn of the century new years cruise. My son was a little something I brought home from that trip thanks to lots of champagne and a little bit of pixie dust :rolleyes1 so we thought we would bring him back to a Disney cruise to celebrate his birthday. After the trip we will be staying an extra 2 day (have not planned where yet) and then are going to Mickey's not so scarey Halloween party which is something we have always wanted to do.

The night before we are staying in Daytona Beach. My parents have a condo there so we get to use it!! Yeah for us! Daytona is not my favorite beach, but when it is free I like it more and more :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The real vacation starts when we hear our names called out as we enter the ship :woohoo: I can cry just thinking about it!!!! Last week on the travel channel there was a cruise special and it featured Disney. My DS3 watched it with me and as soon as it was over he ran to his room. He came back with his swimming trunks on and said mom get your bathing suit on so we can go to the Mickey boat! He is pumped!!! I can not wait to see his face when he sees Mickey!!!!!

Hi Everyone! It's great so see some action on this thread. I couldn't belive it when my ticker went to 29 days all of a sudden a trip that was so far away was just around the corner!

Is everyone ready? What big things to you still have to do?

I have to book a town car from MCO to port on Sunday morning and try to figure out how to get somelike Walmart to ship some booster seats to the ship for us to use on our rental car after the trip.

Has anyone here shipped thing to the ship? I'm wondering if I send car seats if I can also mail myself a case of bottled water?

Can't wait to see you all in 29 days.

candlemaker,
I am sure you can ship boosters to the warehouse to be delivered to your ship, but I had heard the bottled water was out. you can buy some from Disney but it is expensive, however they offer a special on the first night.

Chasekenslee,
We watched one of the Disney specials on the travel channel too and the kids were so excited about it. I can't wait.

I reserved a van from MCO to port yesterday. Will go to Walmart to buy boosters tonight and need to ship them to port.

So what big things does everyone else still need to do before they leave (besides pack)?

I still have to get my DD15 and DD6 to do a week's worth of homework :teacher: before we leave so that they are not behind when we return!!!
Hopefully it will not be a problem since the reward is a week with Mickey!!!

Normally I book our cruises many months in advance and by this time I have everthing packed, booked and filled out. This time since I only booked a few days ago, I am not even sure where to start. The biggest thing we still have to do is to decide where we want to stay after the cruise when we go to the parks for Mickey's Halloween Party. Kinda leaning towards the Swan or the Dolphin right now. No homework to worry about here, our kids are off from school for that week. Here in my part of Georgia they go back in early August and then have several weeks off during the year that are not holiday related. I am very excited  right now since I signed on to check an excursion on my reservation and see that I have a room number instead of a guart. Looks like if it holds we went from a cat. 12 to a 9. Yeah sunlight :thumbsup2

I need to put my box together to ship, but I am waiting for beach toys to go on clearance.

Next to that I am "patiently" waiting. :lmao:

I have a question for you guys that have cruised Disney before. My parents are traveling with us and allowing our DD6 to stay in their room. When we check in can I have our DD6's KTTW card "attached" to our room for her charges? I am thinking she may want a smoothie or something and it would be nice for her to be able to use her card if she were with my parents or even in the kids club. Also, could I add her tips to my room? I know my parents are not evening thinking of this. They would just pay for her and be done, but I do not want them to have to do that.

What about stopping at Walmart in Orlando and picking up two boosters and water? I know you had said you wanted to ship some, if you are renting a van its a great idea and then you don't have to pay for rental boosters either.
Just a thought.

Edited to say, what company are you renting with and what rate did you get. I used thrifty and got a minivan for $249 total from 9/10-9/16 one way from MCO to the port and am still trying to beat it, or at least get onsite at the airport. But that isn't a huge deal as dh can go get the car while the kids and I wait for baggage.

It's a van with a driver. $105 from tiffany towncar I think (don't have the papers with me). We are at WDW after and are renting Avis from Cape C. on the 20th and returning at MCO on the 24th for $237 full size car. So I won't have a car to stop at Walmart in Orlando.

I did find the car rental a bit less but it was not an on site at MCO vendor and I am trying to avoid one more shuttle bus trip...

Okay - Up until now it was all exciting. Now the hurricanes are starting and I am crossing my fingers for good weather for us all!
