9/11 Pentagon plane video

Yikes. I really didn't mean to strike a cord with anyone. I'm not doubting that it didn't happen...I just found this video a bit interesting and surprised that someone could come up with something like this.

Pardon me if this was surfaced a few years ago, and I never saw it. It's not like I ASKED for it to be forwarded to me years after it was already discussed. :sad2: Apparantly there are others besides me who have not seen it either. You can't tell me that when this video first surfaced and you first saw it years ago that it didn't generate discussion or that you didn't check snopes to see if it was fake or not. Obviously if you knew someone on the plane, saw it happen, etc. you knew. For me, being hundreds of miles away, and not actually knowing someone on he plane, made me want to know others thoughts. I apologize for being behind the times on the email, but no need to jump down my throat because I had never seen this before, and no need to outright assume that I automatically believe it, either.

Sorry if I came off as jumping down your throat...not my intention at all. I was more thinking of the creators of the spurious site, these initial purveyors of such illogical dreck, the people who doctor and massage and PhotoShop images until the end product seems to prove whatever the technicians want it to. Now THEM's the ones I have some real issues with :furious: .

Actually I didn't click on the link. Don't want to see it, didn't need to.

agnes!

I'd like to see the video from the gas station and the hotel. It's a well made flash presentation to say the least. I'll never know what happened to the Pentagon though my guess is a plane. I would have though the Pentagon would have some sort of missile defense to shoot down anything coming towards it?? Don't they have this or is this type of stuff just in the movies?

:confused3 :confused3 I know...it is somewhat alarming to me that it only takes a few years for memories to fade so much. And for people to forget the multitude of eyewitness reports and to now be asking questions that were answered repeatedly YEARS ago.

It won't be long until people will say the towers weren't hit by commercial airlines. And there will be an internet video, there always is. Just wait and see.

Call me morbid--I saved footage. So my children in the future could see what really happened live to tape and unedited.

Yes it is morbid--but if what you say is true..then that validates us keeping it!

The reason eyewitness testimony up close is a problem--is b/c to the naked eye--things do move soo fast that the closer you are--the more difficult it is to discern. But from farther distances, you get a better picture of what is going on. That is why different testimony from different POV is important. Not digitally altered footage.

Mookie--I never paid attention to anything forwarded regarding 9/11 b/c most of it is untrue. I didn't need to look at forwared footage to promote a thought provoking idea b/c the real deal was thought provoking enough. This is the first time I have seen your footage and it is very contrary to the footage that we own that I do remember in pretty vivid detail.

While I know you met no offense--I do find it odd why there are people out there who do distort the truth (not you). And though archival footage is kept--they'll insist that footage is digitally altered while theirs is the real deal. Those who do that (create "fake" footage) are disturbed individuals with too much time on their hands.

On the other hand, why not just automatically delete this email? Why not check it out with Snopes first? (why doesn't everyone do this? ;) )Why post it here to start controversy?

So, I guess you got your thoughts.

rule of thumb--FW's as "facts" regarding history--should always be checked out.

Usually they are wrong.

(just a tip for next time.)

Oh-and since it should be political pining for office season soon---FW's regarding facts about the opposition (so Rep's--anything about Dem's and Dem's--anything about Rep's)--should be checked as well. Good grief--I am an admitted republic--but holy cow--the crap that was FW'd to me all the time from others. You just want to reach through the internet and smack 'em silly for the stuff they send out. Hello--go to the polls with facts and not fairytales!

Diznygrl, you are right, and I did try checking snopes, but couldn't find anything, until someone else posted the link here, which was the whole purpose for my post. Usually, snopes does a great job in debunking that stuff, so when I couldn't find it, I found it odd, and decided to post. Not trying to start controversy, just trying to find out the story behind the video.

Okay, my head hurts, and you are right, I did get my thoughts. Time for bed.

Actually, I wasn't talking about up close eyewitness accounts, I was talking about people who actually can say they saw what it was. Many people up close could not tell what it was.

I totally agree with you, I don't understand people who distort the truth, for whatever sick reason. I suspect most of this sort of stuff is politically motivated. And I don't tink it is morbid that you saved the footage. It was history happening before our eyes.

My comments have nothing to do with when this surfaced. It isn't the first video like this and it will not be the last. The more time that passes, the more political people are, the more people are willing to believe anything shown to them...totally disregarding what has already been addressed. Back when the tragedy occurred.

IMO, I think it is just amazing that so easily are swayed into conspiracy theories that are easily proven to be hoaxes. And these hoaxes are not harmless. They harm the people who saw what happened, they harm the loved ones left behind.

To watch a video like this one and say "Wow, that is incredible", and to allow it to make you wonder what ''really'' happened is so shortsighted, IMO.

To believe that a missile was shot at the Pentagon due to an internet video requires totally ignoring the facts that we do know to be true.

We know that a commercial plane just happened to be in that same vicinity at the same time and the people aboard just happen to be gone. Wr also know that many, many people saw it happen. We also know that other commercial planes just happened to be flown into the WTC around the same time. I mean, come on. Does it really take more than a few minutes to come to the conculsion that this missile idea makes zero sense?

I don't blame you for posting it, I just don't like that the memories of those who died are flippantly used to rile the curious into a conspiracy theory. Especially for political gain.

Sorry people are giving you a hard time

This kind of crap just burns me up. This is so incredibly insulting to the people that lost their lives that day. A very dear friend of mine is a medivac nurse in the DC area. Her helicopter flew the first burn victim out of there that morning. She witnessed things that we cna't imagine in our worst nightmares.

Passing this BS along is irresponsible.

I am not going to repeat my apologies for "passing along this BS" over and over again. I see the point. To continue to post about how wrong this is to post just keeps this post at the top of the boards for everyone to see. Isn't that the same as me posting it in the first place?

If you are mad that this horrible email even resurfaced again, don't post. It just keeps the fire burning and you are doing exactly what you said should not have been done. Let it go, and the thread will drop off. We all know what the bottom line is here on the email: not true, and horrible that someone would have created such a thing for all to see. So, to continue to post on this and keep this thread alive goes against everything most of you said you wanted to happen to this email. IMO, that's as irresponsible as me posting it in the first place. :sad2:

You are assuming I read everyone's replies, I didn't.
