9-08-2010 Pirates through the Mediterranean/ Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Pirates Life for Us

7 months from today we'll be checking into the Hilton! I used to think September would never get here, and now it seems like it will be here before we know it!
It's so exciting reviewing the excursions! I can't wait!

Hi everyone! We have already booked our flights From Madrid to Barcelona, although it takes about 40 minutes to fly to Barcelona we thought it would be smarter to fly the 7th instead of the 8th just in case they lose our luggage or something unexpected happens. We are staying the night before our cruise at the Marriott Airport.
About our excursions, this is what we have panned so far:

Malta - Beach Club

Tunis - Bardo Museum and Medina for Families

Naples - Pompeii (Half Day) We might book The Hidden treasures of Herculaneum instead

Civitavecchia - Drive a Ferrari :cool1: (Our DD Madison who is 8 will be happy to stay at the kids club in order to let us enjoy this excursion :) )

La Spezia - Cinque Terre Scenic Boat Tour

Corsica - Beach Break

Villefranche - Monaco, The Marina and the Little Train.

Besides the excursions, we are planning to book Palo brunch (first day at sea), Palo dinner, and a few Vista Spa Treatments :woohoo:

I really look forward to meeting you all, we met a lot of DISers:thumbsup2 during our Western Caribbean Cruise the past September and that was definitely one of the highlights of our cruise.

Take care,

Dennis

Me either. Lots of planning to do before though. Glad we finally have the hotel booked anyway. Got any snow up your way?

We have about 6 inches so far, they say it will get worse this afternoon/evening, with as much as 12-18" when it's all done. A perfect day for cleaning out the DVR while reviewing excursions (so at least the two of us will know what we're doing on this trip!)

New to the boards but can't wait until this cruise - will be our fourth on Disney but first in Europe. Our kids are 9 and 7 and looking for playmates on this cruise. Is it time to pack??

:welcome: Aboard, this one will be our third Disney Cruise, we live in Europe so it will be great to avoid long flights, just 40 minutes from Madrid to Barcelona :cool1:, our DD will be almost 9 at cruise time. It is going to be an amazing cruise, I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Thanks Dennis!! We can not wait - I am pricing flights every day and waiting for them to fall to my target price. We are actually planning on flying over on the 2nd and spending a few days in Paris before heading to Barcelona. That way the kids are straightened out from the flight before boarding the ship.

Hi! I am giving this cruise as a surprise anniversary treat. This will be our first cruise ever and our first trip to Europe. Are there any must dos? or any recommendations?

What a wonderful anniversary surprise! Must dos for us are brunch at Palo on a sea day, the Rainforest at the spa, and the tastings. We've selected the add-on, Adventures by Disney, for our excursions as this is our first time in the Med and we wanted a unique experience. You'l love cruising!

Count us in we are on the b2b. We can't wait for the 24 days on the Magic.
Our names are Michelle and Jim. See you all there.:dance3:

6 months from now I will be having my last minute panic attack of wondering what I forgot to pack! Where has the time gone? I still need to make a decision if I am doing the ABD, excursions through Disney or on my own (or a combo of the last 2).

Our family is considering a private tour of Rome - will be much less expensive than doing the Disney excursions - I've already been to Rome but family wants to hit Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, and the Vatican (probably no time for Spanish steps and Plantine Hill). If anybody is interested in splitting this with us, please send a PM or just post back here.

Nearing the 6 month mark now!!!

We are b2b as well. It's starting to feel real!! (been booked for almost two years!) so I'm right there with you...6 months from today I'll be thinking about everything I forgot even after making lists for 2 years!

Hi,
Haven't posted in quite awhile - but just wanted to wish everyone a Wonderful time - we must cancel - family obligations. Too bad as we were btb - 24 days aboard the Magic!!! Oh well, there will be another time.

Bon Voyage

We have committed to the BTB! We did the Med last time so have the experience of the first leg. After the first 10 days you need the time to rest on the way home. We know from experience, we did the 2007 Med.

If anyone would like to read our trip report from 2007 I have attached a link.

The Magic sets sail tomorrow for the transatlantic cruise to Barcelona. :cool1:This just means that we are getting closer and closer to
Sept. 8th!
Patience is a virtue that I am starting run low on.
