Anyone have an idea for a 80th Birthday present for my grandma? We are having a party for her and I am tryin to think of something special to get her. i was thinking maybe something engraved? What though I have no idea! HELP!

How about a beautiful shawl or blanket? I know my gma would complain about being cold all the time. Heated slippers (since gmas seem to have every thing any way)? Is she confined some where? how about a small wind chime? How about a book on tape?

As long as your gift is from the heart, I'm sure she'll love what ever you decide to give her. :goodvibes

I just thought of another idea:

I made a pillow that had an iron on picture of our family in the center. My Gma was all over that.

A picture calendar? You can get them made to start at any month and have a picture of you and your family/ pets on each page. You can get them at Walmart, Walgreens, Target -lots of places.
You could even do one with old pictures if those are available to you. Pictures of your Mom or Dad when they were little etc...

For my Mom's 90th birthday, we all chipped in and bought a digital frame. We loaded hundreds of pictures onto it and she can turn it on and use the remote any time she wants for a slideshow. I can add pictures from her photo albums too.

This might sound kind of "non sentimental" but it's what I/we are doing. My grandmother who is also turning 80 has cooked dinner everynight of her life for her family (when younger) and my grandfather (when older). This past year she said "I am tired of cooking and need a break", they now eat out every night! Good for her. So for her birthday, I am buying a large bouquet of flowers and then with the little sticks that cards go on in the flower bouquet, we have all (5 grand kids, 4 great grandkids) have bought gift cards for different restaraunts and are putting them on the card sticks...it's both cute and useful and won't just get thrown in a drawer or closet. ( I am also getting her a ipod shuffle, but she said she would like one of those.)

here is a picture of what my mom's friend got for her 60th b-day. we went on to make my mom one for her 60th as well.

we got all of her childhood friends, relatives, & current friends to make a square and then we had it put together by a seamstress (my dsis' MIL).

it's very easy to do and really makes an incredible gift. if you are interested i'll give you directions.

Those are some great ideas. One thing I got my grandma when she was around 80 was a new set of pretty, high thread count sheets. She loved them and mentioned them almost every time she saw me after that.

OK, this is very small, but if someone got her a corsage for the party, she would love it. Lots of good ideas here.:)
