8 is ENOUGH!! July 2-9, 2006 NEW 8/22* Part 5- Post #61

Subscribing! I can't wait to read more. I hope it becomes much less stressful and I'm secretly happy that your room is not near your mother's.

mytwotinks- he did get the right size! and 3 of the shirts were perfect. They were identical to ones I had but in new colors, colors I like even. 2 of the shirts were not quite right but who's gonna be the one to tell him that? Not me!!! I was so impressed that he went out to get them that I would have worn them too big, too small or neon pink. :)

twinkiemama- IF I have more children I am blaming it on YOU ;) Everytime someone has said pregnant near me...I have been! No more! Please! :D

Thank you all for reading..it is cathartic to write about the trip after I am home...makes me miss it a little less to re-live the week through the trippie.

TSB- The whole cattle-air/family dissing you/swearing "a*shole" behind you/no airconditioning/non-connected rooms ...etc. DISASTER stressed me out! I was SO happy to read about the castle, a symbol of "the Magic", THANK GOD you at least made it to this point!!!! I'm exausted!!!

Bless your DH!!!! Hate to beat the shirts-thing to dealth, BUT, mine being mine, would have bought me a 3-pack of Hanes wife beaters and called it good. Either that or "old-lady" shirts with rhinestones or teenie bopper attitude shirts with something innappropriate for a house-wife to wear written on it!

Please tell us it gets ALOT better! Either that or give me your mom's phone # so I can give her a talking to!

Cant wait for more, more, MORE!

OT:UtahMama, you so crack me up!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
When I read your TR and saw your pic it totally did not fit my mental picture of you! Don't get me wrong your a very pretty lady. But your disboard personality just doesn't match the pic. I hope you don't take offense, but even if you do...You're still my girl :thumbsup2 (and I think the reason I am getting such a kick out of this is people tell me the same thing about myself) :confused3

Back on topic....love the beginning of your TR....more please popcorn::

The Magic Kingdom is my favorite place, my favorite park and of course, our first stop the next day at 8am.....8am? I gotta go to bed!

Next up....See you on Buzz...

GO TO BED so you can get up and write the next installment. Stop cleaning that house lady. That is why you have four kids! You have writing to do!

Bump!

ANOTHER Mom of four - I know hardly any in my "real" life, but there several TRs by "MOFs" going on right now.

Mine are DD14, DS11, DD8, & DD5.

We should create our own Forum!

Wow, great trip report!! My mom and I both cried when you saw the MK. We're hooked, please post more!!!! :thumbsup2

Got to see how this turns out! :rotfl2:

See Sheli--we are all begging you to give us more! You are going back to work soon! Do I need to call you Michele???? Please!

What time did I say I went to bed?

It's all a blur since Stitch called at 6:30 to get me up for the day. I think I slept for 4 hours, but who cares...the Magic Kingdom awaits!!!

Well, I guess I have to feed them first, They may be excited but they don't run on excitement as well as I do. So I run to the Food and Fun center, order 4 meals and run back to the room to drag the sleepy people out of bed. They are not getting up though....So I pull open the curtains and yell "WE'RE AT DISNEY...GET UP!" (I yelled friendly and a little quietly though.)

So on with the clothes, in with the food and onto the monorail....1 hour and 30 minutes....we are not setting any records here folks!

"Welcome to Stitch Kingdom - Mahalo!" I love stitch, he's bad, annoying, odd and generally funny looking....the fact that they put him onto the recording on the monorail makes me smile still. I love that he "hits" his head just as we're being warned to be careful.... I can't help it!

We get onto Main Street quickly as we are about 10 mins past park opening and the crowd is gone inside already. The park feels quiet and comfortable at 8am. I run into Guest Services (literally 3 minutes) and then it begins...my son has to pee, my mom needs to get water to take her meds, my dad needs sunblock, my other son needs to pee, dh has wandered off to see what's in the Emporium. Someone else said traveling with a large group is like herding cats...I fully agree!

After 10 minutes of wasted time we are FINALLY on our way to Buzz Lightyear...This is a ride everyone can love, the colors for the baby, the video game like blasters for the big kids, the smiles on their faces for the adults. The 5 min wait time is the time it took us to walk and wind through the line...we walked right into the cars. I feel like we are finally AT DISNEY!

Alex was 6 last time we were here and did not do any coasters, but he wanted to do SM, so off we went, my mom took Quin and Matt but for some reason not the baby..so I have to wait while Grumpy and Alex ride....I walked up to get a baby swap pass and got yelled at for having the stroller in line (this happens again many times...because I keep forgetting to park the darn thing) I use the wait to buy autograph books for the younger 2 (which I will keep forgetting in the hotel room every day and leave with only 9 signatures) and then it's my turn to ride, Alex goes again of course. I love Space Mountain, it if fun, fast and...over! ON to the next ride....

Not being smart yet, we planned to ride SM and meet up with the others, but now they are having a snack...so we sit....it is still not 9 am and the park is still half empty...I hate the sitting....I finally said, "OK, who's going with me and dad?" Quin decided to stay with Grammy and Grampy, she took Emily this time too. I wish I had kept all the kids with us....we didn't ride anything they couldn't do, I missed seeing Quin on all the rides and it gave dmom something to complain about the rest of the trip. (more on that later)

In short time we did Tomorrowland Speedway (there is a reason 11yo's don't drive...can you say whiplash?), the Teacups (DIZZY is FUN) and were on our way to Dumbo. Short line, Short Ride, but oh so fun...when a flying elephant can make a 12 yo smile you kow you are at WDW.

We did the fastpass hop through fantasyland. Pass here, ride there, grab a new pass, back ride 1st pass...the lines were short (under 5 mins) and the FP returns were at about 15 mins. We felt like we had the park to ourselves. We did the story rides in no time at all. Sleeping beauty bit the apple no matter how many times we tell her not to. Tigger bounces where Toad used to hop (I miss toad), and we're just loving everything.

It's a Small World was our longest wait (10 whole minutes) and that was because they opened the 2nd load line when we were almost there and let a ton of people who were just walking in onto boats. A small annoyance, but I annoy easily. Luckily annoyance passses quickly because I love IASW (did you notice I love it ALL?") I love the dolls, the singing and everything about IASW, and this time my 12 yo Alex who was not going to ride "that doll ride" enjoyed it too. His social studies teacher would have been proud of him naming the countries as we passed through them...maybe he is paying attention in school after all.

We quickly grabbed fp's for Mickey's Philharmagic before IASW and still had time to ride the carousel. I love carousels. I always have. I am the fat lady who will climb up on a carousel horse and smile as it goes round and round.
An hour and a half had passed since leaving the little kids and we completed all of fantasyland. Well, almost all..we saved Peter Pan for when Quin and Em were with us. I love PP and wanted them to see it with us.

So...We ducked out of Fanstasyland to ride Haunted mansion. Another ride I love. I am not sure how the boys will like it but they Loved it too. We rode this 3 more times in the next week. They couldn't get enough. OOOPS, gotta run, the movie return time is NOW!

I had never seen Mickey's Philharmagic, I had no idea what to expect. We accidently met up with dmom and ddad in time for the show...so i grabbed Quin and DH took Em and we were off... I didn't expect a 1yo to wear the glasses and watch the show but she was mesmerized. Not a peep from that baby the whole time. Quin was another story...in a good way... He loved it! Trying to grab the jewels, ducking the flying instruments, then came the bucket of water... If the morning hadn't won his heart already the water did it! He was smiling from ear to ear as the water hit him...direct from the screen to him! When people talk about the "Magic of Disney" this is what they mean. This little boy truly believed that the water came out of the bucket and right onto him. There is no mister in the chair, no illusion...it was 100% real for him. "Mommy, the water was real, I could feel it!!!"

It was lunch time so we sent dh to grab Peter Pan fp's for after lunch, we always try to be holding fp's going into lunch...(I mess this up at AK and the consquences are disaster!...well, to me anyway) So it's fp stop at Peter Pan and then into Pinocchion Village Haus where none of has been before but it is right there and at 11:30 there are no lines and we get a table that will seat all of us.

The dining plan gave us too much food and we ended up handing out dessert to 2 people. It was fun to make someone else smile. We have been smiling all day. Lunch was quick and we were on our way to Peter Pan. The crowds are here now, the standby time is 55 mins, but wait...we have FP's...a short wait and we are flying. Again, Quin believes...we're flying...no telling him different! I love it!

That brings us to nap time for the baby...she has been a trooper since 7:00 but it is 12:45 and her attention is wearing thin. A walk up Main street, a hop onto the Monorail and we are in the room. Anyone who thinks the Contemporary is not "Disney" enough for them has never felt the magic of being 5 mins from their room with a tired baby on a hit summer day.

Off to the pool with the big kids I go, while Grumpy DH and Grumpy Emily take a much needed nap.

Up next...July 4th at the Ak

many thanks to you shlei! I too love IASW and I am so glad your 1st day was so magical. Welcome to Stitch Kingdom. . . . :stitch: :stitch:
