I'm playing with 2 different "Plans" for our first trip to WDW as DVC members and would like your help in a little pole. Please look at both of the ideas and then vote for it. And if you want to talk about if it's a good or bad idea and how you have done it.

Long story short.

We've been to WDW 5 times in the past 7 years:banana: And love it!! We love to stay at PC (what a wonderful place) And we always had the same # of days at the parks as we did days at the resort. So now we join DVC:worship: Now we can go more often LOL So here are the 2 plans. Please read both and vote. Thank you. FYI I came up with both the plans:woohoo:

This will be our first DVC trip and a kid free one too!!:yay:
1. Arrive to AKV for 4 days in a 1Br SV. all relaxing, resort hopping, a couples massage. And cook in the room. Just RELAX. It's a vacation by the way. So after 4 wonderful days at AKV we move over to BLT 1Br LV also for 4 days.
Day 1: Epcot after checking into BLT and getting 4 day pass and 4 day DDP. Lunch at Electric Umbrella or Mexico. Drink around the world:rolleyes1 Dinner at Le Cellier
Day 2: AK breakfast with Goofy and Mickey and enjoy the park.
Day 3: MK breakfast at CP OOP(DW love it the most) play all day and dinner at LTT!
Day 4: MGM opps I mean DHS:sad2: eat at 2 different counter services we like ride some ride, forget the parade and watch Osbourne lites.
And last but now least have last meal at Chef Mickey's then drive home!!

2: Day 1: Arrive AKV - relax at resort.
Day 2: poolside and bus to DTD
Day 3: Couples massage:lovestruc that watch football with DW in room:yay:
Day 4: relax all day. finish remaining food in fridge.
Day 5: Move to BLT 1Br LV - get 4 day DDP 4pm enter MK for MVMCP and dinner at CP/LTT 4:30ish
Day 6: Tour monorail resorts dinner at California Grill 8:30?
Day 7: Backstage magic tour(need i say more?)
Day 8:relax poolside. dinner at CM 6:30ish watch wishes from BLT?
Day 9: pack up eat OOP at CM then head home.

Both ideas are great.(and in the budget) I would just love to know what you would do. I hope to hear a few wonderful ideas.

I would do plan 1, but reverse it. I'd do the parks first, then relax. That way you can go home relaxed and not tired from park mode. Plus, then you have a few extra days in case you wanted to hit your favorite ride again :). DH and I are doing 3 relaxation days at the end of our trip in Sept at BCV after a stay at BLT. Can't wait! Have fun!!!

Well the cooking and watching football would not fly with me :rotfl:

I think Plan 1 sounds slightly better because first 4 days are pretty much open. DH & I think going to AK while staying at AKV is probably a better idea instead of going back to that while staying at BLT.
I think for both plan 1 & 2 you are talking about getting DDP with 1 quick serve & 1 table served meal
& snack each day? - you said 4 days with DDP for the BLT part of trip so thats 4 QS/4 TS/4 S per person ( or are you just staying at BLT 3 nights? then it is 3 QS/3 TS/3 S per person ).
Also, just in case you didn't know  when you're staying on DVC points you do not need to purchase park pass to get DDP, so if you didn't want to visit any parks at all you can still purchase dining plan and if you want to buy park pass for only part of your stay(1 or 2 days etc) you can still purchase DDP for total # nights of your stay at AKV or BLT or both resort stays.

I'd throw in an evening strolling around Crescent Lake/Epcot resorts; definitely stop in at Jellyrolls at BWI/BWV :-)

Best wishes on your planning & enjoy your DVC adventures :goodvibes

I'm sorry, I can't answer this until I know what football team you'd be watching. :rolleyes1

;)

I'm with the first reply - I'd go with Plan #1, but in reverse - BLT, DDP and parks first, relaxing, massages, DTD at AKL with the Savanna second. Kick it off with a blast and then relax before it's time to go back to the real world.

And, I'd still throw in the MVMCP (but I'm biased - MVMCP is my personal favorite time in the MK) :)

Does it matter?:confused3 It's football!:cheer2: We both play fantasy football every season so of course we'll have the laptop handy during the games.

We also love MVMCP. We've only been to 5 party.:goodvibes I'm trying to stick to a budget. It's the one thing we have always done (since we dropped $600 on photo's on the Magic:scared1:)

Reverse order for sure!
So do the parks first then relax?:teacher:

Opps i missed a day. :rolleyes1 plan 2 is the idea i like the most. DW wants to do the backstage magic and maybe another MVMCP. Both of these ideas are gereat. We started with a budget and I'm just trying some ideas since it's our first DVC trip.

:rotfl2::thumbsup2 We both enjoy sports.:worship: And we love to play fanatsy football and have been playing since 2002:confused3 Relaxing has been the one thing we NEVER do while on vacation:hippie:

I understand. We had quite an enjoyable afternoon last fall with my sister and her family all watching the Alabama game during afternoon down time, though my husband was going back and forth between the living room and master bedroom so he could also watch his alma mater Penn State. :thumbsup2

lol rolltide!!

I had the same thought as others, do the relaxing at the resort portion of the trip last! Both plans look good, though, but I think I'd give plan 2 the edge. Have fun!

The husband and I both play fantasy football also, :cheer2: yet have never watched football while at WDW - which may change this year! Heck, a day of relaxing in the room is probably a better idea than constant score checking from the phone while in lines :rotfl:

... Then again, there's always the ESPN club....

I would also switch the plan and relax later. However, by doing that I would stay in reverse order as far as the resorts. BLT 1st for easy park access, then "get away" @ AKV and relax.

I agree we have stayed at both resorts both are great you can't help but want to go to the parks from BLT and since it's a no kids trip don't forget about watching Wishes from the roof top lounge. ALV is a great place to really enjoy the resort itself. Have a Magical Time :wizard:

WOW more replies then i thought i would. Keep them comming. Thank you everyone

I voted for #1. But if it were me, I'd do a modified version. I'd get the DDP for both parts of the trip. (We really do prefer to be on the DDP at all times.) And then if I stuck with a 4 day pass, I'd do a park every other day and relax in between.

Another reason I voted for #1 is because I don't like sports really at all. But you guys do, so obviously what would be torture for me on vacation would be a fun time for you - but it did play into my vote. Just sayin'. :)

We're also doing a split stay between AKV and BLT this year! We're going in July. We've done AKV twice (LOVE LOVE LOVE it!) but are also excited to try out BLT.

Enjoy your first DVC trip! You'll wish you had joined sooner from the very first night!
