:thumbsup2 Be sure you make time for AK during evening EMH there--usually on Wed evenings....can be very romantic and so nice that time of year. DH and I love to just walk around and relax.

I voted for Plan 2 since it's an adults only trip and the things included in plan 2 are more of an adult nature than Plan 1.

I agree with the other posts that AKL would be my #1 choice for a relaxation visit inside WDW. We visited AKL last year on a "no parks" trip and it was wonderful!

This year, we are doing 4 nights at BCV followed by 4 nights of relaxation at VB. Nothing is as relaxing as the ocean, IMO. This is our first trip to VB.

Have a wonderful time!

I would do plan 2, except for the backstage magic tour. My DH & I just did this last friday and we were both dissappointed with it. For the $$$ spent, we would have been better off doing massages or doing the water parks. Just have a great time and enjoy being together!!

How were you disappointed? Every post I've seen was happy reports.:confused3

REALLY?????? We LOVE the Backstage Magic tour and have done it three times! It's always been a bit different each time, and the information imparted can't be found anywhere else.

If "going more often" means you're likely to go back within the same year, getting annual passes would be a good option. I really enjoyed the Backstage Magic tour last Nov., but if you're doing "on the cheap" -- putting that money toward APs might be better, then you'd have lots of flexibility for your trip (and be encouraged to take the next one as well). Rather than 4 "commando" park days, and 4 totally chilled ones, you could have a nice mix of some mornings and/or evenings in a park, and relaxing afternoons at the resort. Seems like some "down" time would be nice at both resorts. I'm not a big dining plan fan; I'd go for OOP for the meals I really wanted, and do more easy meals in the room (one of my favorite things about timeshares is having the kitchen; it saves a lot of money, and I know I'm going to enjoy eating the food I'm spending money on -- not always the case at Disney eating places).

So, I guess I can't really vote for either plan. It seems like doing parks first, and then relaxing might be the choice, but then I think I'd be thinking about what I hadn't done at the parks and still want to go back.

(But then also, I would rather stay more days, than spend the amount of points it will take to stay in a 1br at BLT at Christmas).

Have a great trip -- it should be wonderful whichever plan you go with.

#1 reversed. out of the two choices, but I don't really care for either. I would rather have relaxing days between park days. Skip tours and buy APs and TWI card.

BLT just does not seem christmasy to me.

We have been to WDW 5 times and we know how to "plan" so we don't have to go commando:scared1: That has only happened once. 4 days will give us time to show a friend around and see what would be "Adult stuff" Yeah I know it's still Disney!!

At MK Fantasyland and Toontown will be busy with constuction. So we do the other 3 lands along with dinner a parade and wishes:love:

At AK stick to the FOTLK, Bug's life, EE, Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl and parade, Oh yeah and breakfast with The DONALD:rolleyes1

At Epcot it's Soarin,MS and enjoy a few drinks around the world til dinner at Le Cellier:goodvibes

And last but not least MGM. This was a hard one to figure out. So we decided on doing everything to the right if the HAT:eek: ToT,RnR,BATB,TSM and as many relaxing things as we want to. NO PARADE:mad: Not to impressed!!

We just want to do the rides or shows we want to watch or ride. And who knows, the crowds in the 2 middle weeks are a bit show with the crowds. Use of FP's:woohoo: And added meals to make each day wonderful!!

TO EVERYONE WHO HAS VOTED AND LEFT MESSAGES: I want to thank you all for all for the wonderful ideas for this and other trips. For now we will be going everyother year til the DD's move out:guilty: Then we may go more often.:thanks:

would not go to AK from BLT.

while you are at AKV is the time to go to AK.

so you won't waste an hour on the bus.

so with that voted on plan 2.

I voted #2 for a few reasons...

1) Trip one is closer to what we'd do with the kids. Trip 2 seems like something special for a couples trip. Others may disagree, though.
2) We enjoy relaxing and spending time at the resort. While you have that time in both plans, #2 just seems more of a go at your own pace trip. I absolutely LOVE those! They're the best. :goodvibes
3) I've never done the tour, so that definitely appeals to me. I've heard it's great!
4) I agree with spiceycat. The bus trip can be a drag. That's the one thing DH really disliked about staying at AKV. It didn't bother me as much as it did him, but it's long.

Best of luck, and have a fun planning. As of right now, your poll reflects about 50/50 split, so I don't know that we've helped you much!!! :lmao:

thank you everyone. This is a kid free trip. We will have a rental car to get around. We have wait listed 4 day CL at AKL:confused3 If we get it plans change again. :lmao: It's taken a few days to figure out what type of room to get at BLT. I just don't know how to request a LV room at BLT. And not just a LV but a room that it facing completely away from MK.:confused3

Plan 2 sounded more adult only to me.
We are doing the opposite. 9 days at BWV 1BR for W&F then 9 days at AKL 1BR SV.
Whatever you choose have agreat trip.

DH and I just returned from an 8 day "no kids" trip to WDW. I don't think I would move from one resort to another; it would crowd my relaxation time to pack up and unpack again. We did not plan a thing except tee times for golf and that was only a day ahead of time. We did visit the parks but for short amounts of time to ride and see what we wanted. We also cooked in the room but ate out a few times when it seemed appropriate. We noticed that our bill at the end of the stay was far less than normal. I have never felt so relaxed after a WDW trip as this one. Have a great time with whatever you decide.
