I'm awake!! :cool1::cool1:

So excited for our cruise!!

I checked with our TA and he told me the only reason we'd need a passport is if there was some sort of emergency and we had to fly home from Canada! I think I'll chance it... lol That's a lot of money we can use toward zip-lining or dog-sledding! :woohoo:

You may want one if your doing any excursion that crosses into Canada,

Got back from the Fantasy MV last week so now I can focus on planning for this cruise!

Haven't looked back through the posts to see, but is there a "roll call" post that has a running list of everyone who's going?

Also, has anyone "officially" started a FE list?

And last, is there a FB group for this cruise? For the MV we had both the thread here on the DISboards and also a FB group. Personally I didn't like having to look both places for updates and just general chatter, but some folks loved it.

I'm almost ready to start getting EXCITED!!

Hi, I'm not sure if there is anyone running the thread now that Caitlinsdad has changed his plans, but my family of four is on the cruise. We've been registered for a while now but had been considering moving our cruise date to 2013. With our Port Adventure date coming up, we finally decided to commit to this summer.

It will be moi (DW44), DH 42, DS15, and DD12.

We are good friends with Calfan and her family--we all took a Dis Med cruise last summer and had so much fun we decided to go for round #2!

I've just spent the past few couple days pouring over the Port Adventures and trying to pin down my first choices. I'd love to hear about what other people are planning to do.

I would be interested in a FE if someone is organizing and the group is small.

Getting *very* excited!

We have never cruised before, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. When can we start booking excursions? My friend said once the cruise is paid for we can start booking. Looking online it says May 23rd? Also, if I booked thru a travel agent I have to pay off the cruise with them, right? (DH is trying to do it thru the cruise planning site and can't find the pay button.)

Thx.

First-time cruisers can start booking excursions 75 days prior to sale date (which is the May 23rd date you are seeing online). You must be paid in full in order to book excursions. And, yes, if you booked through a travel agent, you must make your payments through the travel agent.

Ditto what Calfan said and adding that AFTER you pay in full with your travel agent, you go back to the website to register for Port Adventures, Palo, and Spa treatments. I'm working with a travel agent for the first time myself, and it's a little confusing, but basically anything reservation related (changes, payments, etc.) must go through the travel agent, the extra-curricular you can do on your own.

Anyone booking port adventures yet? I think concierge, platinum and maybe even gold are up already, right? I'd love to hear what everyone is planning to do as I'm putting finishing touches on my PA wish list.

Another question for you all. We paid off our cruise today:cool1:, but there was some confusion as to our booking. So the TA said he upgraded us from a 4B to a 4E and got us a better room, BUT my original booking was supposed to be a 4E. Is 4E better than 4B? We are in room 8594. It has a white wall veranda and is on the end of the boat. I don't think I want that, do I? There's more motion at the ends of the boat, right?

My understanding is that a 4B is a higher category than a 4E (but you can double check on the website by pretending to book another reservation to be sure). So if your travel said he "upgraded" you to a 4B from a 4E that doesn't sound right. From the reports of the room, 8594 does appear to be a 4E with half plexi/half white wall veranda. You can read the room reports here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomreport.cfm?Room=8594&ship=Disney Dream

Thanks for the link.

I don't know what happened. All our original quotes were 4e so I dont know why he said we had 4b. He also had in his system we were cruising the 13th. That is what we asked for, but the TA booked the 6th for whatever reason we didn't care so we left it.

I can't even book for 5 on the 6th so I guess I'm stuck with whatever. It will all be fine. I'm going on a cruise to Alska with Mickey Mouse, can't complain about that. ;-)

Thanks for the link.

You are so right! But reading your reply made me realize I read too quickly. I'm signed up for two cruises and I replied for my fantasy cruise--the link I sent was for a fantasy room. I looked and couldn't find any reviews for the room on the Wonder. So ignore my comment about 1/2 plexi and 1/2 white wall--that was for the Fantasy. I assume if your TA told you it's a solid veranda, the whole thing will be white. I was originally signed up for the 13th cruise, too :)

That link had one review for the Wonder. I just hope the weathers not bad. It said it there's a lot of movement when the weathers bad. I hope my 4 yo has a strong stomach!

Hi, everyone. We set sail 3 months from today. Woo hoo! I am excited to be able to book excursions, Palo, etc. tomorrow night (for us West Coast silver Castaway Club members). Will check back in after that so we can start comparing notes on what excursions everyone has booked. Meanwhile, is there anyone willing to coordinate FE? I have never done FE before, but I would like to try it for our Alaska cruise. I don't think I would make the best coordinator since I am a newbie to FE. Anyone with some experience coordinating out there?

I'm hoping someone wants to organize, too. We did it for the first time on our last cruise and the kids loved it.

Did anyone on our cruise book Port Adventures, Palo etc. on Monday night/Tuesday morning (90-day mark)? Here is what we have booked:

First Sea Day: Palo Tea

Tracy Arm Day: Palo Brunch and Palo Dinner (depending on what we hear from the first 2012 Alaska cruisers about the dinner/show schedules on the various nights, we might try to move the Palo dinner to another night)

Skagway: Yukon Expedition

Juneau: Dog Sled Adventure by Helicopter

Ketchikan: Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour (booked direct with
56DegreesNorth)

Victoria: Butchart Gardens and Short City Drive

Curious to know what others are doing.

Starting to get very excited about this trip! We are first time Disney cruisers and we're bringing a whole slew of people:)

My immediate family has 5 - me, DH, DD13, DS9, DS8

We also have 22 other people in our family that will be on the cruise. We'll probably have at least one day of bright colored matching shirts, so you may see us:)

Will be booking excursions in 13 days and here is what I'm looking at:
Skagway - White Pass Railway & Trail Camp
Juneau - Alaska Whales & Science Adventure (or maybe Best of Juneau)
Ketchikan - Totems, Lumberjack, Potlatch Park

Any thoughts on these would be greatly appreciated!

See you in August!:banana::banana:
