8/6/2012 - Mickey's Alaskan Adventure

Southwest just opened the booking dates. Coming home is MUCH cheaper than arriving..I'm waiting and seeing too....

We just finished our taxes and it looks like we will be getting enough back to do this cruise. We will finally be officially booking when it comes in, which shouldn't be too much longer now, since we are doing e-file with direct deposit. The account we put it into is also running a contest that gives a chance to double our refund, that would be really nice, as that would easily pay for the entire cruise.

And it looks like airfare for us is going to be about $200 each.

Hi Ed -- Thanks for your message over on the other AK thread. Congrats that you guys are now less than six months out. Our Midnight Sun Mouseketeer board is a week behind you so we get to enjoy our "half a year till the cruise" announcement next week!

I'm also surprised that the 2013 meet boards for Alaska haven't really gotten going yet. My Med cruise next July had over 30 families signed up within a week of DCL opening up booking. And we are almost at 20 pages of chatting. Not sure why there is such a difference!

Well...not only have my Seattle plans booked, but good airfare came through yesterday on Southwest and we are officially booked!!:banana::banana:

Hey everyone! I paid off our cruise with my tax refund! Yippee!!!!

Will next start planning our trip from Va to Seattle. We want to arrive Sat. the 4th. Any reasonably priced hotel recommendations? We've never been to Seattle so any help/info would be really appreciated. I definitely want to see the Space Needle!

I've looked at airfares and they seem outrageous to me. If I wait longer will they lower, do you think?

Also, do we need passports for sure? I assumed we did because of the stop in Victoria, but I've read conflicting info. If I can save that $450 that would be so great!!

Thanks,
Teresa

Hi Teresa, congratulations. It might be a good think to have passports
If you plan on doing an excursion that ventures into Canada, like the mountain railroad you will need it

We are signed up for the Alaskan Cruise and couldn't be more excited! Add us to the list.
me, DH, DS 14, DS 12, DD 6

We would also love to do the FE's

Sorry all but I must cancel this cruise. Our company Bonus came out today and it was much smaller this year. With our other bills it does not provide the safety zone I need to cover everything

Have a great cruise all
