Just wondering whether anyone has done this. I went to book a PS for LTT on a night when MK closes at 9. They offered me the latest PS of 8:50PM. I was kind of intrigued by this....on the one hand, it would be pretty cool to leave and walk out of MK after the park has closed. On the other hand, I thought they might rush us through the dinner, and we might get just "what's leftover". Anyone done this that would care to share their experience? Thanks in advance. :earsboy:

Oh, I've done it often. It's lovely! The gift shops stay open late, and people meander around until the park "really" closes to see the "kiss goodnight."

Your dinner will be paced at a normal rate. Enjoy!

Yes, I've done it too-- It's amazing to have the whole park basically to yourselves as you walk out. It's an amazing experience. Not to be missed!

Had an 8:50 PS at Le Cellier last week. We were not aware that the World Showcase closed at 9 pm. So we sat down and ordered some cocktails. When the CM returned and tried to take our order, we said we would order later, we just wanted to drink and enjoy ouselves and soak up the surroundings for a few minutes. She was totally fine with it...very sweet and friendly. Then I started noticing how empty the place was, so I asked her what time they closed, and as soon as she told me 9 pm, we ordered! I remember being a server and I hated having people camping out at tables when I was dying to get home!

It was very cool to walk through epcot at night, with hardly anyone around!

How does leaving so late affect your transportation options, especially at MK? I've always heard on the Epcot side that the boats to the resorts stop one hour after closing (I think it was one hour, correct me if I'm wrong). Is the same true of the boats, busses and monorails back to the TTC? I would think it would be very unpleasant to have a liesurely late dinner followed up by a very, very long walk back to the TTC.

Hopefully someone else will have the answer for you. In this case, we had our car in the parking lot, so it was not an issue for us. I know Disney is pretty darn good with the transportation...so I would think you would be ok. But maybe someone else has a more definitive answer for ya!

All transportation stops one hour after official park closing times

You can get more info on buses, etc. on the transportation board. From what I have read over there, although tranportation "officially" ends from 1-2 hours after park closing Disney will not leave guests behind. They have Cast Members who will call for a bus for anyone needing one. Another alternative is to take a taxi. If you are at Epcot really late you can exit at the International Gateway and take a 5 minute walk to the Beach Club. From there you can take a taxi to anywhere in WDW for a nomimal charge. All Disney resorts have taxis available outside their main entrance. So if you are late at the MK you can walk to the Contemporary and grab a taxi.

from what i understand, Disney will never leave their guests stranded at a park. They will get you back to your resort.

you can also go to the nearest resort (CR), take a bus to DTD, then transfer to a bus to your own resort.

also, could the night you are going be an EMH night, perhaps?--just a thought :)

We do this all the time. It's my favorite time in the parks, after everyone has left. We REALLY take our time leaving. We have a car so don't worry about transportation.
