Hi, I'm leaving in 4 days and have a questions regarding the 8:30 dinner restriction S-Th for cast members. My niece is going with us and is a Disneyland cast member. My question is this-if a restaurant shows 8:30 as the end of dinner, can you still get a discount? When does the time start? At your reservation time? or when you're done eating (when the bill is totalled). We would really like to go to Park Faire at GF but it shows 8:30 as latest time. I think when we were there in Sept. we had a later time, but I'm not sure-we were on the Disney Magic Plus Dining, not cast member discount then.

Thanks for the help,

4 days and counting!!!! :sunny:

Actually, I know the answer to this one. We were really bummed out when we heard about the new policy, especially because when I made the reservations initially, no one told me about the 8:30 rule.. it wasn't until later that I found out and had to juggle things around.

The way it works, in order for a cast member to get a discount, your meal has to BEGIN at or after 8:30 pm. So if the restaurant closes at or before 8:30, no discount. We wound up losing out on the discount for our dinner at Rose and Crown, because at the time, the latest reservations they were giving were for 7:30 pm. My plan for our next vacation is to make dinner reservations at 8:30 (which is pretty late, especially with kids :-(.

You can still get the cast member discount for lunches (at the participating locations).

Thanks for the info. I was worried that would be the case-oh well.

3 days and counting!!!
