Hey all,
We won't get our cruise documents until about 10 days before sailing. I know, that's cutting it close. But there really isn't that much to the documents anymore since you register online. Only the luggage tags (if using
DCL transport), DCL bus passes and the Bahamas immigration form.
Postalcop.....love the Mickey pirate shirts. They are adorable.
MPaulin123.....great story about life with the kids away. Its so sad when we adults need loads of naps after just one late night. Its very hard to predict who gets seasick. The only time I really felt seasick was when we were sailing around a tropical storm and you could really feel the ship rocking.
Last year on the Wonder I only felt the ship moving on the first night and only when I was in bed. Day time was fine.
To be safe, I'd pack some ginger snaps. But I'd be surprised if you need them.
Last week for four days both DS and DD were at a camp in CT. So I was an empty-nester for three full days. Aaaaaahhh....the house stayed so nice and clean during that time.
I would have definitely done more drinking and partying except that the day before the 4th of July I lost my footing in my driveway and re-sprained the ankle that had the surgery. I went outside to retrieve the garden hose and sprinkler and wasn't wearing my ankle brace and put on a pair of flip flops. I have a gravel driveway and the flip flops slipped on the stone and my ankle buckled.
I was in a panic all 4th of July weekend worrying I had damaged the surgically repaired ligaments.
Last week both my physical therapist and my podiatrist looked at the ankle and said the ligaments are fine - I just slightly sprained the ankle and lost about 10 days worth of physical therapy.
On a happier note......went to our first Mets game at Shea Stadium on Saturday. Usually we drive down to Philly to watch the Mets play since the drive is about the same amount of time and the Phillies play in a new stadium.
We had an absolute blast. But we were five rows from the top of the stadium and my ankle was quite sore by the end of the game from climbing up and down all those steps.
I'm not surprised the 8/17 and 8/21 cruises are selling out. With the Magic out in California, people don't want to spend the $$$ on airfare to get there. Plus those west coast cruises are incredibly expensive. Way better value for your money to take a shorter Wonder cruise.
