Because I have absolutely no life whatsoever, I was looking at the port site for Curacao. Jay (hubby) and I spent 10 days on Curacao quite a few years ago, so I'm familiar with the island, and already know what I want to do there....but thought I'd see if they had the 2008 dates up. They don't.
But what WAS neat....on one of their pages, (might even have been the front page) the picture of the ship that they have up is the MAGIC! Good taste, Curacao Port Authority!

Makes me laugh, though....the Magic has only been there twice, while other lines have been there numerous times....guess they chose the prettiest ship!!

Ah...I was wrong...I'd linked from the port site to one of Curacao Tourism's sites....even better!!!

This is insane! I went from not caring about the repo cruise to feeling ill trying to figure out what to do. OY! I just called the BofE and talked to the testing coordinator. Our friends who we have cruised with 3 times now may book the May repo. DS would miss the EOGs but she said that he has 10 days to make them up. He would have to take them the first week of June. That would mean we would take them out of school for 3 weeks. I don't know if that is even possible. We would have to cancel our 12/07 cruise.

Since I got more information about next year's calendar from her it looks like the kids would still miss 2 weeks of school even with this repo. UGH!

Anybody going to watch American Idol tonight?

Yes, Angelina and I will be watching tonight. ;)

I'm also waiting for Amazing Race and Survivor to come back on as well.

Judy, have you ever gone to CBS.com and see the Survivor site? I've gone there to see episodes that I might have missed.

I'm hoping the DCL announcement is made early tomorrow. I sent me cell # to Susan, and she is going to call me if she finds anything out before lunchtime on Wednesday (thanks Susan)!!! :goodvibes

Lisa--I have a strong feeling the August Repo with be 8/16 to 8/30.

Well, that makes it only a week of school. I wish there was a way to know what the best decision is easier.

That is me :confused3 I decided this past weekend that I would just forget about sailing DCL since I can cruise out of Galveston for 1/2 the price and I figured since I have never cruised DCL before I wouldn't know what I was missing so that would make it a lot easier. Then on Monday I was watching the Travel Channel special on the Voyager of the Seas which is what I was going to cruise on next Feb out of Galveston and reading DIS when I got caught up in all this and now it's all I can think about !! I plan on doing the Westbound though. It's crazy :crazy2:

Lisa,
Thats easy---come with us we are obviously more fun----we already have a thread. (as opposed to May) Think of CC on a great August day as opposed to a December day.

So Stacey---since I have no life either lets talk about Curacao---what is there to do there? I hear you loved the caves?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: I don't want to see mules either.

You have to go in August Lisa ...Its better for the kids and school ...Less stress ...Plus were going (you know , your new Table mates):lmao: :lmao:

So I wrote this long post about Curacao, and it disappeared into the netherworld. I hate when that happens!

Bonaire has the wild donkeys and the donkey sanctuary.....not much to do there besides dive and snorkel.
But then, there's not much to do in Curacao but dive and snorkel.....and shop!!
I want to take a taxi to the Seaquarium. There's a great beach there, and a reef easy to swim to. The aquarium used to have a fully enclosed area for kids and beginners to snorkel in, and you could see shark enclosed next to that, through a plexi-glass wall. Kind of creepy, but kind of cool, too.
There's a couple of restaurants there that have good food, a few gift shops....a small museum of seashells....and of course, the aquarium. It's my favorite spot. When we were there, they were building condos next door, so I imagine by now it's changed a lot.
Curacao is mostly desert, like Bonaire, so there aren't too many beaches with sand, like we're used to.

Some people like to take the tour to see where they make Curacao, the liqueur.. We didn't go there, we found a place right by the pier where we could get free samples!
No bat caves for me!!
Once we're done at the aquarium, I plan on doing some serious shopping in Otrabanda.

Geesh....listen to me....I sound like I'm already BOOKED! :sad2:

LOL Todd! :lmao: It would be great to cruise with you guys again but the kid's friends from last cruise are booking the May repo...John, Vanessa, Angie, Kim, PJ... Dhcrisva says that they will be booking this one as well though. DH just said to book August since it will be easier with school. We can still do the 12/8/07 if we go then...or we have the 12/1/07 with SPH still booked if everyone else jumps ship on the 8th cruise. OY! It sounds like I will be booking both & deciding after we see what everyone else has. This is like seperating from family. :( Don't get me wrong now, there are many of you who I have chatted with on the DIS for years and it would be wonderful to meet all of you. :)

Your DH is so SMART and RIGHT AUGUST would be MUCH better with the school ...Plus like you said an August repo would be easier to do with a DEC cruise ..this way you get 2 in one year ...If you do the MAY repo you have way too many variables ...See I can make your choice easier for you :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: = Lisa you will be missed on the MAY cruise you know that ..But overall August works the best for your sitiuation ...:lmao: :lmao:

Now that will be .99 for the advice ....:rolleyes1

Okay, I think I have covered my bases, I have a TA booking a cabin for me...have already canceled 2 morning meetings at work on the 31st....JUST IN CASE I am late that morning :rolleyes1
And if all that fails, I am conveniently cruising Feb 3rd and can rebook for the Repo......

I hesitate to sound too sure......but I am hopeful that .....
WE ARE IN!!
:hourglass

You crack me up as usual, Todd. :lmao: I just told DH what you said and DD wants to know who said it. I told her that if we go in August she will be dining at the same table as the Captain this time. Her eyes bugged out of her head. "You mean our Captain Jack Sparrow Todd?" :lmao:

BTW, did you see that I just updated DH's pirate garb? He asked if the shirt was it last time. I think that he wanted to dress up more like the other dads. :)
