I forgot to include this in my prior post...

Inflected Form(s): plural au·tos–da–fé
Etymology: Portuguese auto da fé, literally, act of the faith

Is this going to be one of the cruise activities? Will it be posted in the Navigator:

Even as I try to read along I just watch the pages get added in front of me!!

Hi all. Haven't posted in a long time but doesn't mean that I don't try to stay caught up. Best wishes and prayers to everyone who needs it. Just because I don't have time to post doesn't mean that my thoughts and prayers are going out to each of you.

The ipod game is fun. Here are the 10 that shuffled in for me:

Jesus of Suburbia Green Day
Finally Fergie
All That I Got Fergie
Pretty Toes Nelly
Sweet Home Alabama Lynyrd Skynyrd
Velvet Fergie
Basket Case Green Day
Poundcake Van Halen
Enter Sandman Metallica
When We Had It All Edwin Dare

Oh, and one more thing--I think it has been way too many posts since we have seen the word "rugby". Count me in--second row.

I know have to go pick my DS up from track practice. 30 degrees and snow but track practice goes on!!!

Take care everyone.

Nicholas.

Hi Nicholas :wave2:

Looks like it'll be sunny here today and we are going to be warming up this weekend!!

Have a good one.....

I think a bus rental from the DL area to the port would be tremendous fun. I have not volunteered to arrange it because I thought there would be someone from the area with prior knowledge, but I am happy to look into it -- Lisa, sign me up! I will arrange bus transport if enough people want it . . .

Julie...we are definitely interested as well. There will be 4 adults and 2 kids in our travelling party.

You can send ice cream overnite on dry ice. I once had a vendor send me Ted Drewes frozen custard from St. Louis to CA as a gift. It was awesome.

Okay, so if I every win the lottery I'll send Graeter's ice cream to everyone that participates in this thread......one of these days I need to buy a lottery ticket....

1960's Arithmetic test:
"A logger cuts and sells a truck load of lumber for $100. His cost of production is four-fiths of that amount. What is his profit?"

1970's New Math test:
"A logger exchanges a set (L) of lumber for a set (M) of money. The cardinality of set M is 100. The set C of production costs contains 20 fewer points. What is the cardinality of set P of profits?"

2000's no child left behind version:
"A logger cuts and sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost is $80, and his profit is $20. Find and circle the number 20."

2007's green version:
"An unenlightened logger cuts down a beautiful stand of 100 old growth trees in order to make a $20 profit. Write an essay explaining how you feel about this as a way of making money. Topic for discussion: How did the forest birds and squirrels feel?"

My nephew is in first grade. He's been having trouble in Math. DB and DSIL are also having trouble with the 2007 way to do simple math. So they ask Aunt Kathy if she could help. Aunt Kathy, having backround in chemistry, math and finance, figures how bad can "new math" be.  OMG! What are they teaching? My nephew is telling me they have to estimated the answer. HUH!!!! Excuse me, I make drugs for a living. If I did a WAG on the amount of drug I needed in a product I would be shut down and in jail. What ever happened to memorizing the times tables?? Now I understand why cashiers cannot count back change anymore. Is this another sign that I'm getting old? :sad2: :sad2:

morning.. I left last night at 9:30 CT and sign in the am to find 100 pages have gone by.. or it seems so anyway.. :scared: All I can say is ARRGGGHHH!pirate:

Now I need to Ketchup again..

Ah, Karoake. From the Japanese word for 'tone deaf'.

:wizard:

I resemble that remark..

Okay J with a period space R & another period! You know you are awfully picky about your name for someone who spells their name backwards, turns out it's not even the name you go by, and you don't have the name you really want to be known as in your signature? :confused3 Helloooooo! :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Chocolate-mint pudding cup. Sounds yummy:)

oh that sounds good..

Oh and btw I have an appt tomorrow morning at 9:20am, not that I think they can really do anything about it but we'll see if they can figure out if it is Bell's palsy or what. My right is NOT blinking all the way without major effort to do so (DH said it was but then my eldest DD said it wasn't all the way so I made DH REALLY look this time and he agreed with her), and my jaw/around my right ear is hurting too. I'm not sure if that's because I'm trying to overcompensate with other muscles or what. I won't go into all the gory details but it sucks. That's all I can say about it. And I hope it goes away..

Good luck at the doctors today.. and let us know what they say.:grouphug:

Boy, Gina is starting to really grow on me in AI. She sort of appeals to my inner rock chick. She is kind of a throw back to Joan Jett.

That's it! I knew she reminded me of someone but I was having a real hard time putting it together with JJ.

I love this song!!!!!!

My eyes are burning, please remove the picture!

How ridiculous! Shelly you and your family are beautiful. Don't ever say you are ugly again. What's great about this thread I am learning is that we get to know the true person and accept them for what they are before we meet them. Getting to know people on this tread is a great lesson. You accept people based on their character and inner beauty!

I love what you said here, Pete.....ITA!

Inner beauty has always been a person's most attractive feature to me....and when someone is beautiful on the inside and the outside....that's like double chocolate! Or double vanilla, in your case!

Oh gosh Laura, I was just kidding you! I have no idea where we will be staying at this point. Heck, how can I plan this TOAL when I have read all of these pages?!?!?!:lmao: I will keep you in mind though.:thumbsup2

:lmao: me neither.. told Dh this morning about the options but he says that we will fly into John Wayne and take a free shuttle bus to a hotel that has another free shuttle bus to the port..

that's why i plan all the trips.. :rolleyes1
